  • In the long-term ecological research community, personal information is an important factor for the collaboration of data management and data usage in international long-term ecological research as well as on the national level. If lots of personal information was disclosed, collaborative researchers are useful to carry out research cooperation, whereas, information providers tend to be burdened to disclose it. LTER system should be considered to provide both maximum personal information required by a community and minimum personal information to be provided to unrelated people due to the scale of personal information and a number of the constraints on disclosure in the aspect of information distribution of the laws associated with personal information protection. In this article, we analyze international ecological metadata standard, EML, and trends in personal information management throughout international long-term ecological research platforms and propose a system model capable of managing personal information based on related domestic laws for the international data exchange through design and implementation.

  • A lot of talks on the Quality of services (QoS) so far were limited only either for the network itself or for the end system, But, recently it is becoming more important to have the seamless end-to-end QoS support to meet the networked multimedia service requirements This paper proposes the QoS based resource management architecture which supports the large scale distributed systems under heterogeneous environment. The architecture introduces a couple of key concepts such as abstractions and algorithms. Abstractions capture the three perspectivest found in all systems: application, resource, and system, on the ofter hand algorithms manage system resources based on information in the three abstractions. We also explain the on-line resource management flow as well as the benefit function which specifies the level of benefit accrued to the application user as a function of the level of service provided by the system. At the end of the paper, the QoS based resource management applied to the tele-seminar application is described to show its practical utilization.

  • Globally, the issue of aging populations has become a significant one, and while Korea is not yet in the same position as many other countries, it has been changing rapidly into an aged society. Korea will be an aged society and this will increase the problems which are associated with an aged society. So we are in the urgent situation of looking the solutions for aged society problems. On this theme, a society which is rapidly aging has a growing interest with developing solutions for suitable elderly housing. A possible model of elderly housing which accomplished this is shared housing. Shared housing is more integrated in local society, and is designed like a small-scale house concept. Also as it provides benefits for social, economical and practical to the continuance of independent life, the shared housing which gives the possibility of sustainable life in the local society is a unique housing type and not only an extension of a housing community, but also it an alternative plan of social integration. This study is one of the methods for the proposal of an alternative plan for the sustainable housing using a small group workshop. It aims to understand the housing preferences of seniors and introduce various shared housing types to a low-income senior group and offer new information of the shared housing for the future. So I give the source that senior could think about their housing plan and what is housing preference type. I anticipate that the better elderly environments, facilities and service to the elderly shared housing development in the future.

  • We investigate the end-to-end delay bounds in large scale networks with Differentiated services (DiffServ) architecture. It is generally understood that networks with DiffServ architectures, where packets are treated according to the class they belong, can guarantee the end-to-end delay for packets of the highest priority class, only in lightly utilized cases. We focus on tree networks, which are defined to be acyclic connected graphs. We obtain a closed formula for delay bounds for such networks. We show that, in tree networks, the delay bounds exist regardless of the level of network utilization. These bounds are quadratically proportional to the maximum hop counts in heavily utilized networks; and are linearly proportional to the maximum hop counts in lightly utilized networks. Considering that tree networks, especially the Ethernet networks are being accepted more and more for access networks as well as provider networks, we argue that based on these delay bounds DiffServ architecture is able to support real time applications even for a large network. Throughout the paper we use Latency-Rate (LR) server model, with which it has proven that FIFO and Strict Priority are LR servers to each flows in certain conditions.

  • In bulding Intelligent Agent Societies (IAS), it is very important to design and implement coordination in accordance with the known requirement and anticipated working conditions. Coordination consists of a set of mechanisms necessary for the effective operation of IAS. Currently, there is little theoretical support that could help in this research is to generate an empirically-based solving systems in which all agent share an identical goal structure and fully cooperate. And we developed a simulation model called "P-System" which produces basic data to be used for statistical analysis to generate a theory of coordination. Coordination among agent in the P-System is dependent on 23 control variables calld TEs(tweakable emtities.)And the level of coordination is represennted by an independent variabe called QMC (Quality Measure Coordination) expressed in numerical terms according tn the definiion of this study. Also, we have studied how to select unbiased subset from the huge total experimental space of the P-System and how to decide the scale of the subset.

  • An experimental study has been conducted to investigate the effect of tunnel slope on critical velocity by using the model funnel of the 1/20 reduced-scale applying the Floods scaling law. the square liquid pool burners were used for methanol, acetone and n-heptane fires. tunnel. Tunnel slopes varied as five different degrees $0^{\circ}$, $2^{\circ}$, $4^{\circ}$, $6^{\circ}$ and $8^{\circ}$. The mass loss rate and the temperatures are measured by a load celt and K-type thermocouples for tunnel slope. Present study results in bigger the critical velocity than the research of Atikinson and Wu using the propane burner. Therefore, when estimating the critical velocity in slope tunnel, the variations of the heat release rate is an important factor. The reason is the ventilation velocity directly affects variation of heat release rate when slope tunnel fire occurred.

  • PURPOSES : The objective of this study is to evaluate the performance properties of chip seals and fog seals with polymer-modified emulsions. METHODS : The performance of chip seals and fog seals was evaluated on the basis of common issues in surface treatments. Granite aggregate and four types of asphalt emulsions (one of the unmodified and three of the modified emulsions) were used considering the usage in field. A Vialit test was performed to determine the aggregate retention, and the MMLS3 (Third Scale Model Mobile Load Simulator) test was conducted to determine the aggregate retention, bleeding, and rutting. In addition, the fog seal specimens were tested by the BPT (British Pendulum Test) to evaluate skid resistance. RESULTS AND CONCLUSIONS : Overall, the polymer-modified emulsions (PMEs) showed better aggregate retention and bleeding resistance for both chip seals and fog seals. When comparing the performance of the PMEs, the difference was not considerable. In addition, PMEs present significantly better rutting resistance than unmodified emulsions. For skid resistance, if the recommended mix design is applied, the specimens do not cause issues with skid resistance. Although all of the fog seal specimens were over the criteria for skid resistance, the specimen fabricated by the high emulsion application rate (EAR) of the unmodified emulsion was nearly equivalent to the skid value criteria. Therefore, the use of an unmodified emulsion with a high EAR should be carefully applied in the field.

  • The genesis of ore bodies is a very diverse and complex process, and the target depth of mineral exploration increases. These create a need for predictive mineral exploration, which may be facilitated by the advancement of machine learning and geological database. In this study, we confirm that the faults and igneous rocks distributions and magnetic data can be used as input data for potential mapping using deep neural networks. When the input data are constructed with faults, igneous rocks, and magnetic data, we can build a potential mapping model of the metal deposit that has a predictive accuracy greater than 0.9. If detailed geological and geophysical data are obtained, this approach can be applied to the potential mapping on a mine scale. In addition, we confirm that the magnetic data, which provide the distribution of the underground igneous rock, can supplement the limited information from the surface igneous rock distribution. Therefore, rather than simply integrating various data sets, it will be more important to integrate information considering the geological correlation to genesis of minerals.

  • The robot soccer simulation game is a dynamic multi-agent environment. In this paper we suggest a new reinforcement learning approach to each agent's dynamic positioning in such dynamic environment. Reinforcement Beaming is the machine learning in which an agent learns from indirect, delayed reward an optimal policy to choose sequences of actions that produce the greatest cumulative reward. Therefore the reinforcement loaming is different from supervised teaming in the sense that there is no presentation of input-output pairs as training examples. Furthermore, model-free reinforcement loaming algorithms like Q-learning do not require defining or loaming any models of the surrounding environment. Nevertheless it can learn the optimal policy if the agent can visit every state-action pair infinitely. However, the biggest problem of monolithic reinforcement learning is that its straightforward applications do not successfully scale up to more complex environments due to the intractable large space of states. In order to address this problem, we suggest Adaptive Mediation-based Modular Q-Learning(AMMQL) as an improvement of the existing Modular Q-Learning(MQL). While simple modular Q-learning combines the results from each learning module in a fixed way, AMMQL combines them in a more flexible way by assigning different weight to each module according to its contribution to rewards. Therefore in addition to resolving the problem of large state space effectively, AMMQL can show higher adaptability to environmental changes than pure MQL. This paper introduces the concept of AMMQL and presents details of its application into dynamic positioning of robot soccer agents.

  • Domestic construction industry has considerable level of construction performance and technology thanks to the economic development and as the result of performing diverse oversea construction project. However, construction disasters have been steadily increasing, and do severe disasters at faster pace. Most of such disasters happen at small and small medium-sized construction fields, which contract size is less than 10 billion won. small and medium-sized construction fields are not obliged to designate a safety manager, and have limitations in engaging self-regulating disaster prevention activities due to reduced budget for safety facilities. For the small and medium-sized construction sites with less than 10 billion won, the Ministry of Labor has been carrying out mobile inspections of construction safety. However, the effect so far is insignificant and an improvement plan is required. Therefore, in the present thesis, we derive problems appearing in the current construction safety mobile inspection system, investigate and study systems in foreign countries, and suggest an efficient and effective plan to operate safety technology inspections. First of all, we establish a standard to select sites to be inspected that are high in construction risk and disaster occurrence probability In addition, we suggest a plan to take administrative and judiciary measures based on the total score for disaster factors considering the disaster occurrence probability and the illegal practices. Furthermore, a scheme to maximize the effect of disaster prevention is sought by building an organic cooperative system between the Ministry of Labor, Korea Occupational Safety & Health Agency and other organizations specialized in instruction of construction disaster prevention. Finally, we induce a research conclusion that leads to self-regulating safety management through checking and instructing systematic management on mobile inspections.
