Second, the differences in gender were confirmed. The effect of mastery goal orientation of 6th graders in elementary school on school adjustment of 1st graders in middle school is higher for boys. In contrast, the effect of school adjustment of 1st graders in middle school on life satisfaction of 2nd graders in middle school is higher for girls. • The present study examined the effect of parent-adolescent communication style and school life satisfaction on the relationship between depression and suicidal ideation among adolescents. The participants were 1,099 middle school and high school students in Chungnam province. The instruments used were the 'Parent-Adolescent Communication Inventory', 'The Center for Epidemiological Studies Depression Scale', 'Suicidal Ideation Questionnaire', and 'School Life Satisfaction Scale'. The collected data were analyzed by t test, F test, the Scheff$\'{e}$ test for a post hoc test, Pearson's productive correlation, hierachical multiple regression, and Cronbach's ${\alpha}$ for reliability by SPSS program(18.0 version). The results were as follows: First, there were significant differences in parent-adolescent open communication style, school life satisfaction, and suicidal ideation by school level, and in the relationship with the teacher in school life satisfaction by gender. Second, the more depressed they were, the more they had suicidal ideation by school level and gender. Also, the more they communicated openly with their parents and the more satisfied they were with their school life, the less depressed they were and the lower degree of suicidal ideation they had. Finally, there were significant effects of both parent-adolescent communication style and school life satisfaction on the relationship between depression and suicidal ideation among adolescents.

  • This study aims to identify causal variables by examining the mutual influences of community consciousness and life satisfaction. We used some data of KCYPS. A longitudinal study of 1952 adolescents selected as a sample was conducted using the Aautoregressive crossover delay model. The results of this study are as follows: First, it showed that life satisfaction is consistently affecting the later life satisfaction with the passage of time. Second, community consciousness showed that the previous community consciousness has a constant influence on the subsequent community consciousness as time passes. Third, the effect of previous life satisfaction on community consciousness was significant. Therefore, the cross-delay effect of life satisfaction on community awareness was stable with time. In other words, life satisfaction level was a causal variable that takes precedence over community consciousness, and the higher the life satisfaction of the previous time, the higher the level of community consciousness in the future. Fourth, the cross-delay effect of community consciousness on life satisfaction was not significant because community consciousness at previous time had no meaningful effect on life satisfaction at later time, so consciousness of community at previous time affects life satisfaction. This study provided some implications basing on this results.

In order to verify these research questions, the self-regulation test and school life satisfaction scale were conducted to both the experimental group and control group in pre-test, next, self-regulatory group counseling was practiced to the experimental group. And finally, a post-test was given to both the experimental group and control group. For this study, 200 students from 6th-grader of S Elementary school located in Incheon were given the self-regulation test and chosen 50 students who received low marks. Then, 50 students were researched into the school life satisfaction scale and chosen 16 students who got average-below score again. It was two matching groups through consideration of their score of the school life satisfaction scale, 8 students were arranged to the experimental group and the rest to the control group. The Self-Regulatory Group Counseling program developed by Eun Hyuck-gi(1999). The program was based on the following three programs: "The development. of the Cognitive-Behavioral Counseling therapy and their reports" by Kim HyeSuk(1996), Group counseling" by Brigman and Early(1991) and the study on the improving program in human relation" by Park KyeongAe(1998). The Self-Regulatory Group Counseling program activity was conducted during 6 weeks. Each session was 60 minutes and it continued for 8 sessions. The data collected to find out a difference in self-regulation and the degree of school life satisfaction between the experimental and control groups were processed by means of SPSSWIN program, and the post-test between both the groups were comparatively analyzed through t-test, a mean difference test. The following conclusions were drawn from the results of this study. First, the self-regulatory group counseling program has obvious effect of improving the self-regulation of the higher grade students in Elementary school. Second, the self-regulatory group counseling program has obvious effect of improving the school life satisfaction of the higher grade students in Elementary school. Particularly, this study shows statistical significance in cognitive facts of the self-regulation and the degrees of satisfaction with general school life, teacher, friend and facilities. • The purpose of this study was to examine the general characteristics and the variety of family life experiences related to the life satisfaction of multicultural families with school-aged children. Data were drawn from the first wave of the Korean Children and Youth Panel Survey conducted in 2010 and developed by the National Youth Policy Institute. Further, the sample for this study consisted of 95 multicultural families who met the requirements. The data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, the t -test, analysis of variance, and multiple regression using SPSS ver. 18.0. The main results showed that family life experiences that were made up of 5 domains, specifically time, leisure, household economy, health, and child education had a broad range of levels. In addition, family life experiences differed according to the general characteristics of multicultural families with school-aged children, such as mother's employment status, number of children, father's employment status and education level, and family composition. Lastly, their life satisfaction was significantly predicted by the father's employment status and health, children's age, children's education, and leisure in the order of significance. These findings suggested the need to expand the social intervention range for multicultural families with school-aged children, particularly in terms of family leisure and children's school life adaptation.

  • The purpose of this study was to find out the relationship among cellular phone addiction, depression, anxiety, and school life satisfaction by examining 284 elementary school students, especially the fifth and sixth graders in Gyeonggi province. This study was done by dividing two groups with top 25 percent and the lowest 25 percent of group(addicts' group vs. non-addicts' group), and 144 out of 284 elementary school students were used for this study. According to the survey, it turned out that the significant variables to predict the addiction are school life satisfaction, learning, classroom setting, and school events, including the top variables of anxiety and depression. And a further point is that relationship satisfaction, anxiety, depression, physical setting, and class satisfaction show how much students are addicted to cellular phone. Finally, this paper suggests the limitation and efficiency of the study compared to previous studies.

  • The Chinese economic growth rate has been much higher than many countries of the world for many years now. Nowadays, China is experiencing significant economic transformation and structural adjustment. Its speed of development is slowing, and housing and commodity prices are slowly rising. Consequently, a series of economic and social problems have come into being. Under these circumstances, how satisfied are Chinese people on the seven aspects of daily living such as Housing Situation, Household Income, Health, Family Life, Food, Human Relations and Job? The Media and Public Opinion Research Center of Fudan University (FMORC) conducted a phone survey of 606 people living in Beijing, the capital and political and cultural center of China, and Shanghai, the Chinese economic center. The survey results show that the overall satisfaction of Chinese people with their daily life is high. The levels of Family Life and Human Relations are on the top, those of Food, Health and Jobs are listed from the third to the fifth, and satisfaction levels of their Housing Situation and Household Income are on the bottom. The satisfaction levels of males with their Family Life and Health are higher than those of females. Age has a significantly negative correlation with satisfaction with personal health. Monthly income has positive relationships with four aspects of daily life - house income, job, house situation, and family life. Owning a house in cities is another important factor that influences satisfaction with the house situation, house income, food, and family life. Shanghai residents also show higher satisfaction with their health than Beijing residents.
