Properties of variable sampling interval control charts

  • Properties of multivariate variable sampling interval (VSI) Shewhart and CUSUM charts for monitoring mean vector of related quality variables are investigated. To evaluate average time to signal (ATS) and average number of switches (ANSW) of the proposed charts, Markov chain approaches and simulations are applied. Performances of the proposed charts are also investigated both when the process is in-control and when it is out-of-control.

  • 이 논문은 IEEE 802.15.4기반 센서 네트워크에서 파워 소모를 줄이는 방법을 고려하였다. 파워 소모를 줄이기 위해 함께 동작되는 센서들의 sampling time에 바탕을 두어 비콘 구간을 조절하는 적응적 비콘 구간 제어방법과 실제 전송될 데이터 량에 따라 적응적으로 슈퍼프레임 구간을 조절하는 적응적 슈퍼프레임 구간 제어 방법을 제안한다. 또한 위 두 가지 방법의 통합 방법인 적응적 통합 제어 방법을 제안한다. 이 논문에서 제안한 파워 절감 방식의 유효성을 보이기 위해 ns-2 시뮬레이터를 통해 모의실험 하였다.

Multivariate EWMA Control Chart for Means of Multiple Quality Variableswith Two Sampling Intervals

  • Because of the equivalence between control chart procedures and hypothesis testing, we propose to use likelihood ratio test (LRT) statistic $Z_i^2$ as the multivariate control statistic for simultaneous monitoring means of the multivariate normal process. Properties and comparisons of the proposed control charts are explored and conducted for matched fixed sampling interval (FSI) and variable sampling interval (VSI) with two sampling interval charts. The result of numerical comparisons shows that EWMA chart with two sampling interval procedure is more efficient than the corresponding FSI chart for small or moderate changes. When large shift of the process has occurred, we also found that Shewhart chart is more efficient than EWMA chart.

Robust Discretization of LTI Systems with Polytopic Uncertainties and Aperiodic Sampling

  • In the previous work, the authors studied the problem of robust discretization of linear time-invariant systems with polytopic uncertainties, where linear matrix inequality (LMI) conditions were developed to find an approximate discrete-time (DT) model of a continuous-time (CT) system with uncertainties in polytopic domain. The system matrices of obtained DT model preserved the polytopic structures of the original CT system. In this paper, we extend the previous approach to solve the problem of robust discretization of polytopic uncertain systems with aperiodic sampling. In contrast with the previous work, the sampling period is assumed to be unknown, time-varying, but contained within a known interval. The solution procedures are presented in terms of unidimensional optimizations subject to LMI constraints which are numerically tractable via LMI solvers. Finally, an example is given to show the validity of the proposed techniques.

  • The real time modeling of dynamic system on adaptive control system is very important for flying control system(FCS). Using traditional method, it is required much calculation load for integral/differential at control system. Therefore, It is very important theme of study in these days to find algorithms for integration/differential at FCS. These algorithms for integral/differential influence strongly stability/reliability to control flying object. In this paper, we present optimal predictive sampling time for reduce calculation load at FCS and optimal predictive time on general cost function by applying adaptive control method.

  • This paper presents the speed control of dc motor based on deadbeat response. The deadbeat response is that the output reaches the final value in the minimum possible settling time and stays there. This results demonstrate that the output reaches final value in one sampling time for the unsaturated region, and in one sampling time after getting free from the saturation state for the saturated region.

  • This paper is concerned with the limiting zeros, as the sampling period tends to zero, of a multivariable discrete-time system composed of an approximate fractional-order hold (AFROH), a continuous-time plant and a sampler in cascade. An approximate fractional-order hold is proposed to implement fractional-order hold (FROH) and is applied to instead of the zero-order hold (ZOH).   • The variable sampling rates scheme is proposed by taking random sample size and sampling interval during the process. The performance of the scheme is measured in terms of the average time to signal adjusted by teh sampling cost when the process is out of control. This measurement evaluates the effectiveness of the scheme in terms of the cost incurred due to nonconformation as well as sampling. The variable sampling rates scheme is shown to be effective especially for small and moderate shifts of the mean when compared to the standard scheme.

  • In this paper we apply the maximum principle to design of time optimal nonlinear sampled-data control systems. We introduce the general design procedures and the mathematical formalas for time optimal processes and trajectories. Then we show the application of the technique to determine the optimal control signal, control sequence, switching time and sampling period to the given 4th order process.

  • First, we propose a transparent and efficient design of discrete-time integral controllers accounting sampling skew. Based on the proposed controller, we derive a state-space representation of doubly coprime factorization including integral action. The representation is then used to obtain a convenient state-space parametrization of discrete-time two-degree-of-freedom integral controllers acconting sampling skew.
