Structure of Direct RF Sampling Receivers for GNSS Signals

  • A direct RF sampling method refers to a technique that directly converts a passband signal to an intermediate band or a baseband without using a mixer. This method is less complicated than an existing RF receiver because a mixer is not used. It uses digital processing after sampling, and thus can flexibly process signals in a number of bands using software. In this process, it is important to select an appropriate sampling frequency so that a number of signals can be converted to an intermediate band that is easy to process. In this study, going beyond previously studied direct RF sampling frequency selection methods, conditions that need to be additionally considered during receiver design were examined, and the structure of a direct RF sampling receiver that satisfies these conditions was suggested.

Binary random sequence generation by use of random sampling of M-sequence

  • This paper proposes a new method of generating binary random sequences using a randomly sampled M-sequence. In this paper two methods of sampling are proposed. Expected values of the autocorrelation function of the sequence generated by these methods are calculated theoretically. From the results of computer simulation, it is shown that using these methods, we can get binary random sequences which have good random properties.

  • 확률비례추출법(pps sampling)에서 표본단위의 추출확률을 결정하기 위하여 크기측도(measure of size:MOS)를 사용한다. 통계청에서 실시하는 일부 대규모조사의 경우 각 표본단위들의 크기측도를 살펴보면 서로 매우 유사한 편임을 알 수 있다. 이런 경우 조사원 업무량을 고려하여 확률비례추출법 대신 단순집락추출법의 사용 필요성이 제시되었다. 본 논문에서는 1997년 통계청의 경제활동인구조사 표본설계법에 두 가지 추출법을 적용하여 평균제곱오차(MSE)와 변이계수(CV)를 비교하였다.

  • 균일표본화에서 나타나는 샘플간의 잉여정보를 더욱 줄임으로써, 요구되는 데이타량을 크게 줄일 수 있는 방법으로 비균일표본화 방법이 고려된다 그러나, 음성신호의 경우 이러한 비균일표본화 방법을 바로 적용하면, 필요한 데이타량이 균일표본화에 견주어 크게 줄어들지 않게 된다. 특히, 잡음환경하에서는 오히려 균일표본화의 경우보다도 데이타량이 커질 수 있다. 이러한 단점을 보완하기 위해서, 먼저 음성신호를 적당히 저대역 필터링을 한 후 비균일표본화를 적용하고, 고대역성분에서의 오차는 잡음신호로 보완하는 방법을 제안한다. 제안된 방법은 기존의 비균일표본화 방법보다 약1.8배의 데이타압축효과를 얻을 수 있었다.

시료채취 방식에 따른 주거 공간 내 휘발성유기화합물 발생 특성 평가 (Occurrence and distribution of indoor volatile organic compounds in residential spaces by sampling methods)

  • Indoor Volatile organic compounds (VOCs) are classified as known or possible toxicants and odorants. This study characterized VOC levels in 11 homes in an area in the capital of Seoul by using two different methods of VOCs sampling, which are the active sampling using a thermal sorption tube and the passive sampling using a diffusion sampler. When using the active sampling method, the total target VOC concentration ranged from 41.7 to $420.7{\mu}g/m^3$ (mean $230.4{\mu}g/m^3$ ; median $221.8{\mu}g/m^3$) during winter and 21.3 to $1,431.9{\mu}g/m^3$ (mean $340.1{\mu}g/m^3$; median $175.4{\mu}g/m^3$) during summer. When using the passive method, 29.6 to $257.5{\mu}g/m^3$ (mean $81.8{\mu}g/m^3$; median $49.4{\mu}g/m^3$) during winter and 1.2 to $5,131.1{\mu}g/m^3$ (mean $1,758.8{\mu}g/m^3$; median $1,375.1{\mu}g/m^3$) during summer. Forty-nine VOCs were quantified and toluene showed the highest concentration regardless of the season and the sampling method studied. The distribution of VOCs was relatively varied by using the active method. However, it showed a low correlation with indoor environmental factors such as room temperature, humidity and ventilation time. The correlation between indoor environmental factors and VOCs were relatively high in the passive method. In particular, these characteristics were confirmed by principal component analysis.

  • 유한모집단의 평균 또는 합계를 추정하고자 하는 경우 모집단 단위들의 배열순서는 중요한 의미를 갖는다. 본 논문에서는 표집률의 역수가 짝수이고 표본 크기가 홀수인 경우 선형추세를 갖는 모집단의 평균 또는 합계를 추정하기 위한 두 가지의 방법을 제시하였다. 첫째 방법은 Singh 등(1968)의 변형계통표집을 일반화한 방법으로 표본을 뽑은 뒤, 추정량을 정하는 과정에서 보간법을 사용한 것이며, 둘째 방법은 변형계통표집으로 표본을 뽑은 뒤, 회귀추정법으로 모수를 추정하는 것이다. Cochran (1946)의 무한초모집단 모형에 근거를 둔 기대평균제곱오차를 기준으로 하여 기존의 방법들과 제시된 방법들을 비교하였으며, 제시된 두 방법 간의 상호 비교도 시행하였다.

DIETS OF THE PHILIPPINE INDIGENOUS SHEEP : ITS COMPARISON TO INDIGENOUS GOATS DIETS AND INFLUENCE OF SAMPLING METHODS

  • This study was conducted 1) to compare the nutrient content and mineral composition of the Philoppine indigenous sheep and goats diets when grazed in common pasture during rainy season, 2) to determine the influence of sampling methods on nutrient content and mineral composition of upland (UP) and lowland (LP) native pastures, and 3) to compare these two pasture types in terms of nutrient and mineral composition. Experiment 1 used sis esophageally fistulated animals, three each for sheep and goats. Weekly extrusa collection was done for a period of three months. Experiment 2 was conducted in UP and LP; these were sampled thrice by three methods, plucking, clipping and use of three esophageally fistulated sheep. Results of Experiment 1 indicated that the diets of sheep were greater in crude protein(CP; p < 0.01) and ether extract(EE; p < 0.05) but lower in crude fiber (CF) and acid detergent lignin (ADL; p < 0.05) than that of goat diets. All other nutrient fractions including mineral composition were not significantly different from each other. Significant findings of Experiment 2 were: CP content of UP was in the order fistulated > plucked > clipped (p < 0.05); CP content of LP was greater (p <0 .05) in fistulated and plucked samples; and ash content was greater (p < 0.05) in fistulated samples of both pastures. The CP of UP was different (p < 0.05) from each sampling method but the CP of LP and ADL of both pastures were greater (p < 0.05) in clipped samples. Most minerals either macro or microminerals were greater in fistulated samples of both pastures. Pooled data of the two pastures showed that LP had better nutrient characteristics and greater mineral composition. Based from this study, there were few differences between the diets of indigenous sheep and goats when grazed in common pasture. Also, sampling methods influenced the nutrient composition of indigenous sheep diets.

다중 섬광결정을 이용한 고해상도 PET의 불균일/불완전 데이터 보정기법 연구 (Compensation Methods for Non-uniform and Incomplete Data Sampling in High Resolution PET with Multiple Scintillation Crystal Layers)

  • 목적: 다중섬광결정 PET으로 얻은 데이터에 대한 여과후역투사 영상재구성 적용을 위한 사이노그램 저장과 보정 방법을 확립하고자 한다. 대상 및 방법: 검출된 PET 데이터에 대한 저장기법에 대한 연구를 수행하여 효율적 영상재구성을 위한 사이노그램 방식을 확립하였다. 히스토그램에서 사이노그램으로 데이터를 변환할 때 생기는 제반 문제들을 해결하기 위하여 데이터 표본의 최적화와 표본 불균일성 보정기법에 관한 연구를 수행하였으며, PMT간 틈새 보정을 위 한 연구를 수행하였다. 모든 데이터는 2차원 여과후역투사 알고리즘을 이용하여 재구성하였으며 보정에 따른 영상질의 향상을 평가하였다. 결과: 표본이론에 의해서 추정된 최소 표본수와 표본 불균일성 보정기법의 적용을 위한 수월성 등을 고려할 때 방사방향 표본간격이 pitch/2, 각 표본수가 120개 정도가 적절하였으며, 불균일성 보정과 틈새보정을 적용함으로서 영상왜곡과 배경잡음을 줄일 수 있었다. 결론: 다층섬광결정 PET의 FBP 영상재구성을 위하여 히스토그램 데이터를 사이노그램으로 변환하는 기법에 대한 연구가 이루어졌으며 이를 통한 고속의 2D 영상재구성이 가능할 것으로 보인다.

Evaluation of Benthic Macroinvertebrate Diversity in a Stream of Abandoned Mine Land Based on Environmental DNA (eDNA) Approach

  • Recently, environmental DNA (eDNA)-based metabarcoding approaches have been proposed to evaluate the status of freshwater ecosystems owing to various advantages, including fast and easy sampling and minimal habitat disruption from sampling. Therefore, as a case study, we applied eDNA metabarcoding techniques to evaluate the effects of an abandoned mine land located near a headwater stream of Nakdonggang River, South Korea, by examining benthic macroinvertebrate diversity and compared the results with those obtained using the traditional Surber-net sampling method. The number of genera was higher in Surber-net sampling (29) than in the eDNA analysis (20). The genus richness tended to decrease from headwater to downstream in eDNA analysis, whereas richness tended to decrease at sites with acid-sulfated sediment areas using Surber-net sampling. Through cluster analysis and non-metric multidimensional scaling, the sampling sites were differentiated into two parts: acid-sulfated and other sites using Surber-net sampling, whereas they were grouped into the two lowest downstream and other sites using eDNA sampling. To evaluate freshwater ecosystems using eDNA analysis in practical applications, it is necessary to constantly upgrade the methodologies and compare the data with field survey methods.
