Possibility of the usage of sludge generated in coal mine drainage treatments as a briquette additive was investigated by the combination of industrial, elemental, and combustion experiments. A series of briquettes having 2% and 6% of sludge were used for the experiments. Compared to the control sample, our results show that all experimental values for the briquettes are very similar. In particular, it is worthy to note that there is no obvious difference in calorific values for the briquettes containing 2% or 6% of sludge. The calorific values are 4,250~4,360 kcal/kg, 4,240~4,250 kcal/kg, 4,180~4,210 kcal/kg, and 4,270~4,360 kcal/kg for the control sample, briquette containing 6% of Hambaek sludge, briquette containing 6% of Hamtae sludge, and briquette containing 2% of Hambaek sludge, respectively. Results of ash fusion temperature show that the temperature is greater than $1,550^{\circ}C$ for the control sample. However, the temperature for the briquettes with 6% of Hambaek sludge and 2% of Hambaek or Hamtae sludge is $1,510^{\circ}C$. For a briquette containing 6% of Hamtae sludge, the temperature of ash fusion is $1,530^{\circ}C$. After combustion, environmental impacts of the briquettes with sludge were tested. Little environmental influence was observed for the combusted briquettes with sludge.
Highly effective polymerase chain reaction (PCR) often brings about false positivity caused by contamination of the sample with target nucleic acids. To solve this problem, in situ PCR (ISPCR) has been developed and applied onto various tissue sections and suspension cultures. With combination of PCR and in situ hybridization, this method amplifies the nucleic acid targets in situ and detect the amplified products inside the cells over the background of various cell types. In order to amplify the nucleic acid targets inside the cells, permeabilisation of a sample is required for the entry of amplification reactants into a cell. Treatments of a sample for the purpose allow not only the entry of reactants into the cell but also the exit of amplification products out of the cell. As a means to reduce the leakage of the amplification products, two methods were applied to suspension cultures of HIV-infected Molt/LAV and U 1.1 cells, in which modified, tailed primers produced long linear amplificants whereas biotinylated dUTP instead of dTTP did bulky products.
OBJECTIVES: In order to study the effect of scapular girdle taping on hemiplegic shoulder pain, a clinical study was performed. . METHODS: Forty patients with hemiplegic shoulder pain were randomized into two groups. Twenty patients underwent a standard acupuncture treatment for shoulder pain (named control group). The other twenty patients underwent the same acupuncture treatment, but scapular girdle taping was added after acpuncture treatment (named sample group). Tapes were applied to the supraspinatus, infraspinatus, deltoid and pectoris major muscles. Shoulder pain was measured with a visual analog scale. The acupuncture treatment was performed daily for 3 weeks, and the scapular girdle taping was performed for 3 weeks in the frequency of 2 times a week. RESULTS: In terms of improvement of pain, the sample group showed statistically meaningful decrease after 3 times treatment compared with control group (P<0.05). In terms of improvement of pain with shoulder subluxation, the sample group showed a statistically meaningful decrease after 3 treatments compared with the control group (P<0.05). CONCLUSIONS: These results support that scapular girdle taping is significantly effective in reducing hemiplegic shoulder pain.
Objectives : Moxibustion therapeutics is one of the most popular oriental treatments in Korea. In this study, we operate the Telephone Survey for grasping clinical actual state moxibustion therapeutics in Korea. Methods : Survey questions were developed based on consensus of acupuncture professors. The list of the Korean medical doctors with experiences more than 10 years is provided by the Association of the Korean Oriental Medicine. A stratified random sample of Korean medical doctors is drawn for the telephone interviews. We choose a bound on the error of estimation equal to 6.5 percentage, and the sample size is 260 for the national sample. Telephone interviews with them were conducted by the well-trained interviewers of Korea Institute of Oriental Medicine in Medical researcher from 26th March 2007 to 6th April 2007. Results : Ninty -four percents of Korean oriental medical doctors were male and most commonly, clinical experience of doctors were 20-29 years(47.3%). Sixty-seven percent of Korean oriental medical doctors used moxibustion therapeutics. The most common treatment disease was Musculo-skeletal disorder(38.3%), Digestive disorder(28.6%), Gynecology(14.1%). Indirect moxibustion were as frequent as 65.5% of moxibustion method. The most common reason of unused respondents was 'Lots of smell and smoke'(28.3%), 'The wound left a scar'(20.8%), 'Less effects'(20%), etc. Eighty-three percents Korean oriental medical doctors were against that moxibustion therapy used without doctor's examination Conclusions : This survey provides unique insight into the perception of the Korea medical doctor at moxibustion therapeutics. Future research need to provide more in-depth insight into doctor views of the experience.

In order to meet the stricter emission regulations, the proportion of after-treatments for vehicles and vessels has been increasing gradually. The objective of this study is to investigate the physicochemical properties according to ash cleaning agents of CDPF for Diesel Engines. Penetrating agents with strong penetration into ash and a surfactant component to mix water and oil were prepared properly. The cleaning characteristics of S1 sample were good. Washcoat loss rate of S1 sample was lower by about 2.2% because of less KOH component and lower Na2SiO3 content. Washcoat loss rate of S4 sample with an added KOH and Na2SiO3 components by penetration agents was increased by about 13%. In terms of less than about 13% of CDPF's washcoat loss rate, it was able to reduce the harmful gas components.

This study aimed to clarify the effect of mobile bag size and ratio of sample size to bag surface area on intestinal digestibility of forage in sheep. Four Suffolk ewes fitted with ruminal and proximal duodenal cannulae were fed second-cut Italian ryegrass (Lolium multiflorum Lam.) hay twice daily, and the same forage was used to measure intestinal digestibility. The forage samples were incubated in the rumen for 16 h and then in pepsin-HCl solution for 3 h before intestinal incubation. The incubated forage samples were placed in a nylon mobile bag. The bag sizes used were either 20 mm${\times}$20 mm (small bag size; SBS) or 30 mm${\times}$30 mm (large bag size; LBS) and the ratio of the sample size to the surface area of the bag was either 5.5 $mg/cm^{2}$ (low ratio; LR) or 11.0 $mg/cm^{2}$ (high ratio; HR) resulting in four different treatment conditions: SBS-LR, SBS-HR, LBS-LR and LBS-HR. Eight bags per animal were inserted through the duodenal cannulae at 15-min intervals and were subsequently collected from the feces of the animal. The mean intestinal bag transition time did not differ significantly between animals, but ranged from 23.2 to 27.0 h. The intestinal digestibility of dry matter (IDDM) ranged from 0.162${\pm}$0.019 g/g in the SBS-HR treatment group to 0.195${\pm}$0.018 g/g in the SBS-LR treatment. The intestinal digestibility of crude protein (IDCP) ranged from 0.610${\pm}$0.031 g/g in the LBS-LR treatment to 0.693${\pm}$0.018 g/g in the SBS-LR treatment. There was no difference in the IDDM and IDCP between different treatments. It was therefore concluded that the size of the mobile bag and the ratio of the sample size to the bag surface area did not influence the intestinal digestibility of forage. Future studies should use bags with high ratios of sample size to surface area in order to obtain sufficient residue for further analysis.

For the effective use of soymilk residue(SR), by-product of soymilk production, Wheat Doenjang made of Wheat flour-SR koji(WFSR koji) and soybean was manufactured. As the results, the contents of reducing sugar were increased till 50 days in all samples and decreased thereafter during aging of the mash. The contents of amino nitrogen were prominently increased till 50 days, but increasing ratio was slightly slowdowned thereafter. The higher the mixing ratio of SR was, the less the contents of reducing sugar and amino nitrogen were. The contents of total acid were also prominently increased till 40 days, but were slowdowned thereafter and the differences among all treatments were small. As the mixing ratio of SR was increased, the yellowness and the redness were increased and the lightness was decreased in 80 days aged samples. In sensory evaluation of 90 day aged samples, control [WFSR koji 100 (WF: SR ; 100 : 0), soybean 100] was the best in soy sprout Doenjang soup. As the mixing ratio of SR was increased, the taste was dropped slightly but no significant differences were obtained between control and sample A[WFSR koji 125 (WF: SR ; 100 : 25), soybean 75], sample B[WFSR koji 150(WF: SR ; 100 : 50), soybean 50] and sample C[WFSR koji 175 (WF: SR ; 100 : 75), soybean 25], sample C and sample D[WFSR koji 200(WF: SR ; 100 : 100), soybean 0].

Objective: To measure Irish opinion on a range of assisted human reproduction (AHR) treatments. Methods: A nationally representative sample of Irish adults (n=1,003) were anonymously sampled by telephone survey. Results: Most participants (77%) agreed that any fertility services offered internationally should also be available in Ireland, although only a small minority of the general Irish population had personal familiarity with AHR or infertility. This sample finds substantial agreement (63%) that the Government of Ireland should introduce legislation covering AHR. The range of support for gamete donation in Ireland ranged from 53% to 83%, depending on how donor privacy and disclosure policies are presented. For example, donation where the donor agrees to be contacted by the child born following donation, and anonymous donation where donor privacy is completely protected by law were supported by 68% and 66%, respectively. The least popular (53%) donor gamete treatment type appeared to be donation where the donor consents to be involved in the future life of any child born as a result of donor fertility treatment. Respondents in social class ABC1 (58%), age 18 to 24 (62%), age 25 to 34 (60%), or without children (61%) were more likely to favour this donor treatment policy in our sample. Conclusion: This is the first nationwide assessment of Irish public opinion on the advanced reproductive technologies since 2005. Access to a wide range of AHR treatment was supported by all subgroups studied. Public opinion concerning specific types of AHR treatment varied, yet general support for the need for national AHR legislation was reported by 63% of this national sample. Contemporary views on AHR remain largely consistent with the Commission for Assisted Human Reproduction recommendations from 2005, although further research is needed to clarify exactly how popular opinion on these issues has changed. It appears that legislation allowing for the full range of donation options (and not mandating disclosure of donor identity at a stipulated age) would better align with current Irish public opinion.
In this study, in order to survey the effect on public recognition in malocclusion and orthodontic treatment by brochures made by Korean orthodontic association, sample were divided into control and experimental group and a questionnaire was inguired and the results were as follows: 1. In the experimental group, frequency of recognition for the need of orthodontic treatment was high, and this indicates dental health behavior and recognition can be inspired by adequate giving of information. 2. Between the control and the experimental group, patterns of the negative opinion was different, and especially the demand for specific orthodontic treatment can be influenced by the content of brochures. 3. The brochures used in this study can call attention to develope the orthodontic aspect for the malocclusion, hereafter more systemic and active measures for development of public dental behavior and recognition should be needed.
Brazing between cemented carbides and steel for tool investigated by copper alloy brazing filler. Copper alloy filler was high liquidus temperature($990^{\circ}C$), therefor the shank(steel) occurred softening. Because brazing sample was necessary to heat treatment after brazing process. This experiment, influence of austenite time and purge temperature on heat treatment were investigated. As a result, these treatments obtained to high deflective strength In case of austenite time was short and purge temperature was low. Especially, nitride precipitated brazing layers was strongly influenced by the deflective strength.
