The purpose of this study is to investigate the religious motive and to clarify the relation between religion and fashion and to predict the trends in the future fashion by analyzing the religious motive in the aspects of inner meanings and methods. 1. We can see ego-superiority as inner meanings of religious motive is expressed mysterious image. Mysterious feeling is reflected in modem fashion in the form of the transparency of light and mysterious color in religious painting that is reemerged as a gorgeous and luxurious sense or it is reflected in modern fashion in the form of borrowing grand ways of art and elements of clothing. And this results from longing for aristocratic gorgeousness and from desire for light that is based on love and salvation. 2. We can see religious motive in modern fashion is a will to be converted to religion because of fin de sie-cle anxiety, and this is reemerged in modem fashion as borrowing of religious symbols in the casual wear or as combination of sacred religious motive with vulgar image and they are going to get mental satisfaction by this. 3. Religious motive has the inner meanings of ethic completion and this is reemerged through covering bodies, minimizing details and using dark tone color by having an inspiration in religious clothing. And this results from antipathy to extreme gorgeousness of modern fashion and excessive exposure and from mental desire for returning to an inner nature.

This study focuss on the futurism expressed in Paco Rabanne's works. Paco Rabanne, who has created experimental and prophetic avant-garde fashion by cutting edge techniques and revolutionary new materials, is known as one of the most influential fashion designer of modern times. First, Light, one of the most important element in Paco Rabanne's fashion design, shows some influence of medieval symbols of love and salvation. Second, the artistic trends which influenced on Paco Rabanne's fashion include surrealism, op art and kinetic art. His use of new materials and avant-garde style represents the influence of surrealism. His experimental use of waving plastics and glittering metal during his early period is especially related with op art and kinetic art in the early 1960's which emphasize the artistic effect of light and movement. Third, the characters of Paco Rabanne's works are the harmony of technology and the beauty oh machine by the geometrical figures like triangles, rectangles, and circles and represent and movement,and the innovational creative methods, voluptuous beauty.

본 논문에서는 양자 역학적 분자 동역학(Quantum Mechanical/Molecular Mechanical-Molecular Dynamics, QM/MM-MD)을 통해 수용액에 녹아 있는 Potassium Thiocyanate의 dynamics를 연구했다. Umbrella sampling technique을 활용하여 association/dissociation에 해당하는 Free energy surface를 구했다. 두 개의 Free energy minimum이 녹아 있는 두 이온의 center of mass 사이의 거리가 $4{\AA}$일 때와 $5{\sim}6{\AA}$ 부근일 때 나타났으며 $4{\AA}$일 때 더 안정 했다. 본 논문에서는 $4{\AA}$일 때를 Contact Ion Pair(CIP) $6{\AA}$일 때를 Dissociation Ion Pair(DlP)라고 칭했다. 이 minimum들이 무엇인 지를 밝혀 내기 위해 추가 연구를 수행하였다. Free energy 상에서 가장 안정 할 때(CIP) solute인 Potassium thiocyanate의 구조를 살펴 봤더니 Potassium ion은 Thiocyanate ion의 Sulfur보다 Nitrogen side를 선호하였다. 그 원인을 알아보기 위해 salvation shell의 구조를 Radial distribution function을 통해 살펴 봤더니 물 분자가 Nitrogen보다 Sulfur와 더 강한 상호작용을 하고 있었다. 그로 인해 Potassium ion이 Nitrogen을 선호한단 결과가 나온 것이다. 한편, 두 번째 minimum은 물 분자가 Potassium 이온과 Thiocyanate 이온 사이에 flexible하게 bridging을 하는 구조였다. 또한 단순 양자 계산을 통해서도 비슷한 구조를 얻을 수 있었다. 그러나 QM 계산은 0K에서 수행하는 것이기 때문에 엔트로피 효과가 없는 계산이지만 본 연구는 온도 300K로 실제 용매와 가깝게 수행함으로써 고정되어 있는 구조가 아니라 엔트로피와 엔탈피가 균형적으로 존재하는 실제 용액 속에서의 구조를 처음으로 보여주는 것이다.

Paco Rabanne, who has created experimental and prophetic avant-garde fashion by cutting edge techniques and revolutionary new materials, is known as one of the most influential fashion designer of modern times. The purpose of this study is to analyze the various factors, including some major artistic movements, which influenced on the formative characteristics of Paco Rabanne\`s fashion design. First, Paco Rabanne\`s fantastic new materials is also influenced by his study in architecture and his own fantasies -which other people can hardly imagine- during his early childhood. Second, light one of the most important element in Paco Ranbanne\`s fashion design, shows some influence of medieval symbols of love and salvation. Third, the artistic trends which influenced on Paco Rabanne\`s fashion include surrealism, opart, and kinetic art. His use of new materials and avant -garde style represents the influence of surrealism. his experimental use of waving plastics and glittering metal during his early period is especially related with opart and kinetic art in the early 1960s which emphasize the artistic effect of light and movement. Fourth, the geometrical figures like triangles, rectangles, and circles represent the influence of Egyptian architecture like pyramids and the geometrical characteristics of Eguptian art. Fifth, Paco Rabanne\`s distinctive use of metal chains in his fashion shows the influence of the chain mail hauberk, the medieval knightly armour. By using the medieval material Paco Rabanne properly expressed the modern person\`s pain and suffering. Sixth, the ethnic elements of Egypt, Africa, Spain, and Japan reflect the experience in his former lives he insists he lived. The ethnic elements of his dresses emphasize the natural vitality and inheritance from the past.

Solvolyses of para-substituted phenyl chloroformates in water, $D_2O,\;CH_3OD$, 50% $D_2O-CH_3OD$, and in aqueous binary mixtures of acetone, ethanol, methanol are investigated at 25.0 ℃. Product selectivities are reported for a wide range of ethanol-water and methanol-water solvent compositions. These data are interpreted using the Grunwald-Winstein relationship, Hammett equation, and quantum mechanical model. Grunwald-Winstein plots of the first-order rate constants for phenyl chloroformates with $Y_{Cl}$ (based on 1-adamantyl chloride) show marked dispersions into three separate curves for the three aqueous mixtures with a small m value and a rate maximum for aqueous alcohol solvents. To account for these results, third-order rate constants, $k_{ww},\;k_{aw},\;k_{wa}$, and $k_{aa}$ were calculated from the observed $k_{ww}\;and\;k_{aa}$ values together with $k_{aw}\;and\;k_{wa}$ calculated from the computer fit. The kinetic solvent isotope effects determined in water and methanol are consistent with the proposed mechanism of the general base catalyzed carbonyl addition-elimination for para-substituted phenyl chloroformates solvolyses based on mass law and stoichiometric salvation effect studies. This study has shown that the quantum mechanical model predicts transition state variation correctly for $S_N2\;like\;S_AN$ reaction mechanism of para-substituted phenyl chloroformates.

Transmission of substituent effects through 5-membered heteroaromatic rings is investigated theoretically at the RHF/6-31+G and B3LYP/6-31+G levels using the equilibria for the $OH^- addition to five-membered heteroaromatic aldehydes (5MHA). The transmission efficiency (S) in 5MHA(A) increases in the order NH>O>S>PH but the order exactly reverses in 5MHA($T^-$). This is originated by the delocalizability of the ${\pi}$ lonepair on Y, $$n_\pi$(Y)$. A better correlation is obtained with ${\sigma}_p^-$ in the Hammett plots with positive slope, $p_z$ > 0, indicating that the substituent (Z) effects are not transmitted by a direct conjugation. The magnitude of $p_z$ for Y=NH is the largest among the heteroaromatic systems, which is consistent with the largest transmission efficiency change $({\Delta}S)$. The equilibria for the addition processes are favorable in the gas phase $({\Delta}G^o<0)$, which reverses to unfavorable in aqueous solution $({\Delta}G^o>0)$ due to the relatively large salvation energy of $OH^-$ in the initial state in aqueous solution. The orders of ${\Delta}G^o$ and $p_z$ in the gas phase are almost maintained in solution.

Even though Chilean writer Roberto $Bola{\tilde{n}}o^{\prime}s$ novel Amulet was inspired by a historical account, it significantly rewrites the story as well as redefines the people who witnessed the history. This novel focuses on the Uruguayan poet Auxilio Lacouture, the self-anointed "mother of Mexican Poetry". She is trapped in a bathroom at the UNAM in Mexico City for thirteen days while the army storms the campus for the repression of the student movement, which was decreed by the sinister Díaz Ordaz and culminated in the holocaust of Tlatelolco. In the space isolated from the outside world, Auxilio attempts to reconstruct the past and to describe the future through an illogical exercise of times. In the meantime, her temporal recollections finally approach the definition of a generation whose historical experience is crucially marked by the key year of 1968, when the novel is set. The only one who remained on the campus, she defends the university's autonomy only by reading and writing poetry. The novel ends in a scene densely imbued with allegorical imagination, by which the author endeavors to justify her generation, more concretely, "the peoples without history", as defined by bohemian poets. The protagonist represents, in some sense, an allegory of the innocence and truth of the history. Her existence per se manifestly demonstrates the power of literature because the literature within this novel in short becomes the most resilient amulet resisting the political violence in an era of increasing madness.

This study was to summarize in Nursing perspective nursing missionary activities of Elizabeth J. Shepping, R, N(1880~1934), a Southern Presbyterian nursing missionary and explore Korean women's lives and Korean nursing history during the Japanese Colonial Period. Shepping committed herself to nursing activities, providing care to the lepers and patients mainly in Gwangju Jejung Hospital, Gunsan Guam Jesus Hospital, and Severnce Hospital, as well as engaging in nursing activities for disease prevention in local communities. She put much effort in educating women and nurses to help recover women's human rights, simultaneously spreading gospel for salvation. She founded the Chosun Nursing Association to help Korean community oppressed under Japanese colonial. Shepping's life based on her motto,"Not success, but service,"was holistic nursing missionary work.

In this paper we discuss the corelation be-tween feminism and fashion and examine its influnce on mordern fashion. And we also try to infer what the fashion design will be like in the future by understanding the value of modern fashion from a new viewpoint. The Early Feminism which advocated the similarity between man and women held the thought that women could be equal to men only when they behaved in the same way as men did, In 1970s when the pendulum of the Early Feminism movement reached its highest point a manish look began to flourish. The manish look introduced the items once employed only for men such as trench costs tidy tailored suits shirts and ties to women clothes. It has taken root deeply in women's life and is still employed in various ways by many designers. From the late 1970s the pendulum of feminism movement began to swing toward the Essentialist Feminism which emphasized the differences between men and women. It focused not on the negative image of women seen from male-oriented viewpoints but on their positive image and stressed women's sexual characteristic to make distinction between two genders. in fashion the Essentialist Feminism played a role in bringing about a sexy look which stressed the erotic silhouette of woman's body. The latest feminism is the socio-cultural one. It sees the distinction between men and women as sexual discrimination and introduces the androgynous human which carries the characteristic of two sexes. it leads to ambiguity of sex roles and at the same time serves to make androgynous social atmosphere by admitting the coexistence of two genders. The androgynous idea in fashion is expressed as a new trend which crosses men and women's own beauty while keeping their own identity intact. As we have briefly reviewed feminism in fashion has been presented in various ways with regard to expressing the nature of men and women. And it has continuously indicated the ultimate message of the salvation of mankind such as the respect for humanity and recovery of humanism.

This essay interrogates the category of the 'global' in the emerging domain of 'global intellectual history'. Through a case study of the Indian social-religious reformer Rammohun Roy (1772/4-1833), I argue that notions of global selfhood and rights-consciousness (which have been preoccupying concerns of recent debates in intellectual history) have multiple conceptual and practical points of origin. Thus in early colonial India a person like Rammohun Roy could invoke centuries-old Indic terms of globality (vishva, jagat, sarva, sarvabhuta, etc.), selfhood (atman/brahman), and notions of right (adhikara) to liberation/salvation (mukti/moksha) as well as late precolonial discourses on 'worldly' rights consciousness (to life, property, religious toleration) and models of participatory governance present in an Indo-Islamic society, and hybridize these with Western-origin notions of rights and liberties. Thereby Rammohun could challenge the racial and confessional assumptions of colonial authority and produce a more deterritorialized and non-sectarian idea of selfhood and governance. However, Rammohun's comparativist world-historical notions excluded other models of selfhood and globality, such as those produced by devotional Vaishnava, Shaiva, and Shakta-Tantric discourses under the influence of non-Brahmanical communities and women. Rammohun's puritan condemnation of non-Brahmanical sexual and gender relations created a homogenized and hierarchical model of globality, obscuring alternate subaltern-inflected notions of selfhood. Class, caste, and gender biases rendered Rammohun supportive of British colonial rule and distanced him from popular anti-colonial revolts and social mobility movements in India. This article argues that today's intellectual historians run the risk of repeating Rammohun's biases (or those of Hegel's Weltgeschichte) if they privilege the historicity and value of certain models of global selfhood and rights-consciousness (such as those derived from a constructed notion of the 'West' or from constructed notions of various 'elite' classicized 'cultures'), to the exclusion of models produced by disenfranchised actors across the world. Instead of operating through hierarchical assumptions about local/global polarity, intellectual historians should remain sensitive to and learn from the universalizable models of selfhood, rights, and justice produced by actors in different spatio-temporal locations and intersections.
