$^{228}Ra$를 이용한 이상 저염 대마난류수의 기원 추적 연구 (A Study on the Origin of Anomalously Low Saline Tsushima Current Water Using $^{228}Ra$)

  • 동해의 울릉분지 표층에서 1996년 9월 초부터 11월 사이에 염분$^*$ 32 이하의 저염 해수가 출현했음이 최근 학계에 보고되었으며, 이 해수의 기원으로 여름철에 제주도 부근까지 세력을 확장하는 장강 유출수가 지목되었다. 대한해협의 서수로를 통과하는 해수가 두 단성분(장강 회석수와 쿠로시오 해수) 간의 단순한 혼합에 의한다는 가정하에 $^{228}Ra/^{226}Ra$ 방사능 비를 보존적 추적자로 활용하여, 두 수괴가 대한해협 서수로를 통과하는 표층수를 형성하는데 얼마나 기여하는가를 산정하였다. 알려진 두 단성분의 $^{228}Ra$, $^{226}Ra$ 방사능 측정값과 대한해협 서수로에서 측정한 $^{228}Ra/^{226}Ra$ 방사능 비로써 계산한 결과, 장강 희석수는 평균 염분이 32.17이었던 1996년 9월에 대한해협 서수로 표층수의 $58{\pm}3%$ 그리고 평균 염분이 34.53이었던 1997년 2월에는 $10{\pm}3%$ 기여하였던 것으로 나타났다. 이것은 제한된 자료와 매우 단순한 모델로부터 얻은 결과이지만 장강 유출수가 동해 내부에까지 영향을 주고 있음을 지시하며, 현재 장강 수계에 건설중인 삼협댐이 완공되면 장강 희석수 자체의 변화로 인해 북부 동중국해와 울릉분지 부근에 걸쳐 수십년 시간 규모의 해양 환경 변화가 일어날 것으로 판단된다.

만경 동진강 하구의 浮流性 卵 仔稚漁 分布 樣相 (Spatio-temporal distribution of the Ichthyoplankton in the Mankyong-Dongjin Estuary)

  • 하구역의 부유성 난 자치어의 분포 양상을 파악하기 위하여 1989년 10월과 1990년 3월, 5월, 7월의 4회에 걸쳐 만경 동진강 하구의 수온와 염분을 조사하였으며, 부유성 난과 자치어를 채집하였다. 수온은 계절 변동이 뚜렷으며 정점간에는 차이가 거의 없 었다. 염분은 강물의유입량이 증가함에 따라 정점간 차이가 증가하였다. 부유성 난과 자치어는 10월과 3월에는 전혀 출현하지 않았다. 5월에는 전어가 출현량의 대부분을 차지하였으며, 7월에는 밴댕이, 멸치, 망둥어류, 풀반지류가 우점하였다. 멸치의 난과 자치어는 만 외부에서 채집된 반면에 전어는 염분이 낮은 내만에서 우점하였다. 전어, 밴댕이, 만둥어류, 풀반지류는 본 하구역의 특징적인 어류로 이들은 염분이 낮은 하구 역에서 산란하고 성장하는 것으로 나타났다.

Hydraulic Property and Solute Breakthrough from Salt Accumulated Soils under Various Head Pressures

  • Salt accumulated soil should be reclaimed to lower salt level for crop production. This study was carried out to investigate the characteristics of water flow and transport of mono and divalent solutes on salt accumulated soils with different head pressures. Saturated hydraulic conductivity was measured by constant and falling head methods with maintaining different head pressures. Saturated hydraulic conductivity was influenced by bulk density and organic matter contents in soils, but it had different elusion patterns between saline and sodic soil. While the quantity of water necessary for reclamation could be varies with soil type, it was considered that the supply of one pore volume of water was affordable and economic. Additional head pressure significantly increased the volume of leachate at a given time and it was more effective at low organic matter soils. The results indicate that additional head pressure would be one of the best irrigation practices on desalination method for salt accumulated soils.

해안간척지 토양의 생물학적 토성 개량에 관한 연구 3 (Biological improvement of reclaimed tidal land soil (III))

  • Two kinds of organic materials, powders of Salicornia and Oryza sativa L. wre added as a source of organic matter to the suspensions of saline soils(soil : water = 1:3) to be 4 per cent of dried saline soil grams. And then, the samples were incubated at $28^{\circ}C$ to improve the decomposition of organic materials by soil microflora. Resutls of this experiment are summarized as followings : 1) The pH of soil suspension showed its highest value on the second or third week after the treatments, which were similar to those of the soil microflora. Results of this experiment are summarized as follwings : 1) The pH of soil suspension showed its highest value on the second ot third week after the treatments, which were similar to those of the soil microflora populations. 2) Salinity increased up to the second week and the highest value of it appeared in the samples which were treated with the powder of Salicornia. In general, the salinity of all samples decreased on the third week after the treatment. The fact was assumed the possibilities of desalination from saline soil by the microbial actions. 3) Soil microflora such as bacteria, actinomycetes and fungi, were determined its populations soil microflora is to act as decomposer in soil. Both of the bacteria and actinomycytes population showed in the third weak after the tratment. In general, 30-years old of saline soil contained microbial population much more than those of 5-year old of saline soil. Salicornia powder favored the increase of both the bacteria and fungal population, and Oryza sativa L. seemed to have been a great role in increase of actinomycetes. Especially, fungal population of the untreated soil suspension contained higher microbial populations more than those of the soils treated with both of the organic materials. 4) Sugar contents of soil suspesions decreased remarkably on the first week after the treatments. 5) The amount of nitrate had similar tendency to those of population changes of soil microflora. Total acidity decreased continuously and the amount of potassium showed its highest value on the third week treatment. However, the amount of phosphorus was determined to be insignificant.

염해지 토양을 기반으로 조성된 모래 지반구조에서 관수용수의 량 및 염농도에 따른 토양내 염류 집적과 켄터키 블루그래스의 생육에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Salinity Level and Irrigation Rate on Kentucky Bluegrass (Poa pratensis L.) Growth and Salt Accumulation in Sand Growing Media Established Over the Reclaimed Saline Soil)

  • 본 연구는 염해지 토양을 기반으로 조성된 모래 지반구조에서 켄터키 블루그래스의 염해 경감을 위한 관수량 및 관수용수의 염 수준 설정에 관한 정보를 얻고자 수행되었다. 시험에 사용된 용기는 바닥에 10 cm 높이로 간척지 논토양을 설치 하였으며, 그 위에 20 cm 높이로 염류 차단을 위해 왕사를 설치하였다. 상토는 20 cm 높이로 세사를 설치 하였으며, 세사에 유기물이 부피비로 5%가 되도록 혼합하여 조성하였다. 상기 용기들은 전기전도도(ECw)가 3-5 $dSm^{-1}$ 수준인 물에 5 cm 깊이로 침지 처리하였다. 조성된 용기에 켄터키 블루그래스 멧장을 식재하였다. 관수용수의 염처리는 전기전도도가 각각 0, 2 and 3 $dSm^{-1}$의 농도로 수행되었다. 관수량은 켄터키 블루그래스의 일 증발산량 대비 70% (3.8 mm $day^{-1}$), 100% (5.7 mm $day^{-1}$), 그리고 130% (7.6 mm $day^{-1}$)의 3처리로 하였다. 관수는 3일 간격으로 수행하였다. 상토내 염류의 축적은 관수용수와 모세관 현상에 따른 염 집적이 원인이 되었다. 시험 2차년도 조사시 관수용수의 처리 농도(ECw)가 0, 2, 3 $dSm^{-1}$ 일 때 각 상토의 전기전도도는 (ECe) 3.86 $dSm^{-1}$, 4.7 $dSm^{-1}$ 그리고 5.1 $dSm^{-1}$ 수준으로 조사되었으며, SAR은 19.2, 23.9, 27.5로 조사되었다. 관수 량의 경우는 염이 포함된 물을 증발산량의 100%와 130% 살포시는 켄터키 블루그래스 재배 토양내 ECe와 SAR 경감 효과는 없었다. 그러나 실험 1년 차의 경우 관수량이 증가할수록 켄터키 블루그래스의 생육량은 증가되었다. 2년차 조사에서는 켄터키 블루그래스의 생육이 염농도에 영향을 받는 것으로 조사되었다. 수돗물에 (0 $dSm^{-1}$) 비해 전기전도도가 2와 3$dSm^{-1}$인 물을 관수시 가시적 품질이 각각 3.2%, 16.5% 감소하는 결과를 보였으며, 예지물의 건물중은 각각 6.4%, 39.3%가 감소하는 결과를 보였다. 또한 뿌리 건물중은 각각 5.5%, 5.0% 감소하는 결과를 보였다.

안경원의 시험착용 콘택트렌즈 및 관리용품 관리 실태 (The Actual Management State of Trial Contact Lenses and Lens Care Products in Local Optical Shops)

  • 목적: 국내 안경원의 시험착용렌즈와 관리용품의 관리 실태를 조사하고 분석함으로써 관리 소홀로 인하여 유발될 수 있는 사고의 위험성을 낮추고자 하였다. 방법: 콘택트렌즈 착용자들을 대상으로 시험착용렌즈의 착용 시 느끼는 점을 설문 조사하였으며, 콘택트렌즈를 취급하는 안경원의 안경사를 대상으로 시험착용 콘택트렌즈인 미용렌즈와 RGP 렌즈 그리고 렌즈 관리용품의 관리 실태를 설문 조사하였다. 결과: 시험착용 미용렌즈와 RGP 렌즈의 경우는 98% 이상의 안경사들이 렌즈 착용 전후 세척을 실시하고 있기 때문에 소비자들은 렌즈의 위생 상태를 신뢰하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 시험착용 미용렌즈의 착용 전 세척은 생리식염수 38.5%, 전용 다목적 용액 40.5%, 생리식염수와 다목적 용액의 병행 사용 21%로 이루어지고 있었으며, 착용 후 세척은 생리식염수 13%, 다목적 용액 75%, 생리식염수와 다목적 용액의 병행이 12%로 이루어지고 있었다. 반면 시험착용 RGP 렌즈의 경우는 착용 전 세척에는 생리식염수가 28.5%, 전용 다목적 용액이 38.5%, 식염수와 다목적 용액 병행이 33%로 나타났으며, 착용 후 보관전 세척은 식염수가 2.5%, 다목적 용액이 70%, 다목적 용액 세척 후 식염수 세척은 27.5%를 차지하여 비교적 세척이 잘 이루어지고 있었다. 안경원에서 시험착용 미용렌즈의 세척은 주로 열흘에서 1개월을 주기로 이루어지는 것으로 나타냈고, 보관용기의 세척은 1 개월을 주기로 이루어졌다. 시험착용 RGP 렌즈의 세척주기는 주로 1개월 또는 2~3개월이었다. 시험착용렌즈 보관용기의 경우는 계면활성제를 이용하여 세척한 후 찬물로 헹구는 경우가 75% 이상으로 나타났다. 관리용품인 생리식염수의 보관기간은 주로 일주일로 나타났고, 다목적 용액의 보관기간은 주로 1개월이나 2~3개월로 나타나 안경원에서 렌즈 관리용액의 보관기간은 비교적 잘 지켜지고 있는 것으로 조사되었다. 결론: 안경원에서의 시험착용렌즈 및 관련 관리용품의 관리는 전반적으로 양호하게 이루지고 있었으나 생리식염수를 이용한 세척을 지양하고, 2주 이내의 세척주기와 뜨거운 물로의 렌즈 보관용기 헹굼이 추가적으로 강화된다면 국민의 눈 건강 증진과 더불어 안경사에 대한 더 높은 신뢰성 구축이 가능할 것이다.

하계 대한해협 저층냉수의 물리.화학적인 특성 및 기원 (Physicochemical Properties and the Origin of Summer Bottom Cold Waters in the Korea Strait)

  • Hydrographic survey in the Korea Strait has long history that has begun in August 1917 at the Busan - Tsushima cross section, still continues to date. However, chemical properties of bottom cold water found exclusively in the western channel of the Korea Strait during summer did not receive much scientific attention. The aim of the study is to decipher the enigmatic origin of the Korea Strait Bottom Cold Water (KSBCW) in terms of chemical properties. The physicochemical properties of the KSBCW are extracted from the CREAHS II hydrographic data. OMP method was applied to analyze origin of the KSBCW quantitatively. The KSBCW is well defined by low temperature below $10^{\circ}C$. The cold waters exhibited the local presence near the coast at about 120m depth with a thickness of 20m to 30m. The cold water was characterized by relatively cold, saline and higher chemical concentrations than adjacent waters. The KSBCW seems to have different origin kom that of the coastal upwelled waters at the Ulgi-Gampo because it is saline, denser and contains considerably less dissolved oxygen than upwelled waters. The physicochemical properties are reported to have noticeable annual variations which suggest the complex origin of the KSBCW. OMP analysis show that the KSBCW is a mixture of three water types; TMW (24%), ESIW (36%) and ESPW (40%). Relationship between the KSBCW and the east Sea circulation is traced by mapping the water masses that have similar T, S and DO of KSBCW. The result showed that the KSBCW is most possibly an extension of southward flowing coastal intermediate waters. Front these results, we expect that the monitoring KSBCW will provide us valuable information about the East Sea circulation.

제주도 동부지역 지하수의 염수화에 관한 연구 (Study on The Salinization in Groundwater of the Eastern Area of Cheju Island)

  • According to the results of the groundwater quality investigation about 230 holes all over the country, the groundwater which was in excess of standard grows larger every year and closed holes increased to 23,457 holes in 1997 from 15,724 holes in 1996. This is the major reasons that water quality contamination, shortage of water quantity, increasing of salinity and so on. There are 7 groundwater salinization sources which are condisered as most important on a regional level. And among theses the Cheju Island groundwater salinization sources are (1) halite solution, (2) natural saline groundwater, (3) sea-water intrusion. The method of taking an isotopes is one of research methods of the origin of groundwater salinization and is used in so many studies because it has very high confidence. $^{18O}O, ^2H, ^3H, ^{14}C$ and so on in an isotopes are frequently used in the method of them. Consequently on this study we analyzed major ions and $^3H$ in groundwater, sea-water and rain of the eastern part of cheju island known as contaminated site from long time ago to examine the origin of groundwater salinization. Relation ratios of the major ions versus chloride ion shows similar tendency to sea-water. This indicates that sea-water entered the groundwater layer. And amount of $^3H$ in holes of the land side is higher than of the sea side. Relation of chloride ion versus $^3$H indicates negative character. Therefore we can think that the reason of groundwater salinization of this part is natural saline groundwater and halite solution by relation.

Heat tolerance of goats to increased daily maximum temperature and low salinity of drinking water in tropical humid regions

  • Objective: The daily maximum temperature and seawater level continuously increase as global warming continues. We examined the adaptability and production performance of heat-stressed goats with a supply of low-saline drinking water. Methods: Twelve Kacang and Kacang Etawah cross goats were exposed to two climatic conditions (control, 25℃ to 33℃, 83% relative humidity [RH], temperature humidity index [THI]: 76 to 86; and hot environment, 26℃ to 39℃, 81% RH, THI: 77 to 94) and two salt levels in drinking water (0% and 0.4% NaCl). The experimental design was a Latin Square (4×4) with four treatments and four periods (28 days each). Results: Temperature of the rectal, skin, and udder, and respiration rate rose, reached a maximum level on the first day of heat exposures, and then recovered. Plasma sodium rose at 0.4% NaCl level, while the hot environment and salinity treatments increased the drinking water to dry matter (DM) intake ratio. Water excretion was elevated in the hot environment but lowered by the increase in salinity. Total lying time increased, whereas change position frequency decreased in the hot condition. Lying and ruminating and total ruminating time increased and explained the enhanced DM digestibility in the hot conditions. Conclusion: The goats exhibited a high level of plasma sodium as salinity increased, and they demonstrated physiological and behavioral alterations while maintaining their production performances under increasing daily maximum temperatures.

소양인 형방도적산과 양격산화탕의 항 스트레스효과에 관한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on the Anti-stress Effect by Soyangin Hyeongbangdojeok-san and Yanggyeoksanhwa-tang)

  • 1. Objective This study was done to identify the anti-stress effect of Hyeongbangdojeok-san (HDS), Yanggyeoksanhwa-tang(YST) in Soyangin. 2. Methods Experimental animals were composed of YST, HDS+stress groups which were administered each by 200mg/kg, 400mg/kg and the Saline+stress group. On the 1st day, making the rats forced swim and on the 2nd day, applying Forced swimming test to the rats. After FST, the levels of Corticosterone in the blood were measured. For the study of learning retardation, memory ability and anxiety reaction, experimental animals were composed of YST, HDS+restraint stress groups which were administered each by 400mg/kg, no stress group and the Saline+restraint stress group. Restraint stress were applied 2 hours a day for 3 weeks. On the last day of the 3rd week, Elevated Plus Maze(EPM) was applied to the groups and Morris Water Maze(MWM) was applied to the groups for 7 days. 3. Results 1. As the results of measuring FST which reflects depression, the YST+stress group and the HDS+stress group showed significant effect in comparison with the Saline+stress group. The levels of Corticosterone in the blood were decreased only in the 400mg/kg YST+stress group. 2. As the results of measuring how long EPM which reflects anxiety reaction stayed in the open arm, there was the trend which can suppress anxiety reaction in the HDS+restraint stress group bur no statistical significance. But there was any suppression of anxiety reaction in the YST+restraint stress group. 3. According to the result of MWM, the saline+restraint stress group showed the learning retardation which means increased time arriving at goal compared to the normal group at the second and third day of measurement. On the contrary, a learning retardation was significantly decreased in the YST+restraint stress group at the third day of measurement. 4. Among the Probe trial test a memory loss occurred in the saline+restraint stress group, but memory ability was significantly increased in the YST+restraint stress group. 4. Conclusion: As the results above, Soyangin Yanggyeoksanhwa-tang has significant influence to the antidepression effect, the learning retardation, the anxiety reaction and also in the Hormone level. Hyeongbangdojeok-san has significant influence to the antidepression effect, in the Hormone level, bur not to the learning retardation and anxiety reaction. prefer to drink cold water, and who are suffering from chronic gastritis.
