국내 설계 안전성 검토 및 해외 사례 분석을 통한 개선방안 연구 (A Study on the Improvement of Design For Safety through the Analysis of Overseas Cases)

  • 지난 10년간 모든 산업의 재해율이 꾸준히 감소하고 있는 반면 건설업의 재해율은 증가 추세에 있어 개선이 시급한 실정이다. 본 연구의 목적은 국내 디자인 안전성 검토 시스템을 해외 사례와 비교 분석하여 국내 디자인 안전성 검토 시스템의 문제점을 도출하고 개선 방안을 모색하는 데 있다. 영국이나 싱가포르처럼 작업설계 초기부터 재검토해야 하고, 건설업 재해 경감을 위한 대규모 건설뿐 아니라 소규모 건설에서도 안전성 검토가 이뤄져야 한다. 특히 관련 제도 미비 등에 대한 제도 마련이 필요한데, 안전시스템 설계는 사업자 중심의 안전관리 체계에서 스펙트럼을 확대하는 것으로 향후 충분한 개선과 연구가 필요하다는 점에서 의미가 있다.

시그모이드 함수를 이용한 가스안전사업 효과의 발현시점 추정과 조정 (Estimation and Adjustment of Time Point in Manifestation of Gas Safety Project Effects using Sigmoid Functions)

  • Gas has replaced coal or petroleum as primary fuel because of its convenience. However, gas has risk of fire, explosion, or poisoning. To reduce gas-related accidents, many strategic projects have been being carried based on 'Gas Safety Management Basic Plans' on a domestic scale. In spite of those projects, the gas-related accident rate did not decrease over past decades. Thus, this study was conducted to analyze the effectiveness of ongoing projects, and to find out ways to make improvements. Conventional statistical analyses on accident data published by gas-related institutions were not useful to determine meaningful attributes to predict future. Whereas, accident case analyses adopted in the present study discovered differences in the type of people and their unsafe acts for each gas type. Meanwhile, the overall average priority of projects was not high in the aspect of System Safety Precedence. If the current trend is maintained, with sigmoid functions, it can be estimated that mean annual accident rate will decrease by only 2.0% in the next two decades. To improve the current trend, the present study made conclusions as followings: (1) safety projects should be designed with careful consideration of accident traits including gas type, unsafe acts, and persons involved and (2) alternative strategies should include system considerations such as minimum hazard design and safety devices prior to mere education or training. To summarize briefly, the present state related with gas accidents highlights the necessity of a system-based multidisciplinary approach.

Cardiovascular Safety Pharmacology of Sibutramine

  • Sibutramine is an anorectic that has been banned since 2010 due to cardiovascular safety issues. However, counterfeit drugs or slimming products that include sibutramine are still available in the market. It has been reported that illegal sibutramine-contained pharmaceutical products induce cardiovascular crisis. However, the mechanism underlying sibutramine-induced cardiovascular adverse effect has not been fully evaluated yet. In this study, we performed cardiovascular safety pharmacology studies of sibutramine systemically using by hERG channel inhibition, action potential duration, and telemetry assays. Sibutramine inhibited hERG channel current of HEK293 cells with an $IC_{50}$ of $3.92{\mu}M$ in patch clamp assay and increased the heart rate and blood pressure ($76{\Delta}bpm$ in heart rate and $51{\Delta}mmHg$ in blood pressure) in beagle dogs at a dose of 30 mg/kg (per oral), while it shortened action potential duration (at $10{\mu}M$ and $30{\mu}M$, resulted in 15% and 29% decreases in $APD_{50}$, and 9% and 17% decreases in $APD_{90}$, respectively) in the Purkinje fibers of rabbits and had no effects on the QTc interval in beagle dogs. These results suggest that sibutramine has a considerable adverse effect on the cardiovascular system and may contribute to accurate drug safety regulation.

Experimental Study on Corrosion Rate in Concrete

  • The corrosion of reinforcement is a very important factor on the serviceability and safety of reinforced concrete structures. The corrosion rate influences directly the cover failure time of reinforced concrete structures because the corrosion rate is used to estimate the amount of corrosion and thus expansive pressure due to corrosion. In this study, several series of experiments are performed considering the chloride concentration in artificial pore solution. The potentials are measured according to the applied current density and then corrosion current densities are obtained from the Tafel plot for various chloride concentrations. The measured corrosion rates show good correlation with those of other researchers.

국내산 원유에 대한 식품위생학적 연구 (Fundamental Studies on the Food Sanitation for Raw Milk in Korea)

  • Sanitary condition for raw milk in Korea was investigated in this study. It is hoped that the information will be used for reference in future endeavors of study in the field of public health and food sanitation in Korea. The results were summerized as follows: 1) The viable cell counts of bacteria in raw milk were tend to be increased under the various atmospheric temperature, and the correlation coefficient between temperature and total viable cells was r=+0.921(p<0.01). 2) The correlation coefficient between methylene blue reduction time test and viable cell counts of bacteria in raw milk was r=-0.799(p<0.01). 3) The relationship between total solid rate(%) and milk fat rate(%) was highly significant level as r=+0.745(p<0.01). 4) Highly significant correlation coefficient was r= +0.945(p<0.01) between milk fat and protein rate in raw milk.

알루미나에 의한 Fission 몰리브덴의 흡착과 탈착 특성 (Adsorption and Desorption Characteristics of Fission Molybdenum on Alumina)

  • Mo-99(Molybdenum) is the only source of Tc-99m(Technetium) which is most frequently used in nuclear medical diagnostics and the demand is on the increase recently. Separation and refining of Mo-99 was investigated by adsorption and desorption on alumina. At pH=0.63, adsorption isotherm of Mo was fitted by Redlich & Peterson equation using the adsorption experimental data. It was found that the pore diffusion model ($D_p=1.4{\times}10^{-6}cm^2/s, K_f/=0.4 cm/s$) agreed well with batch adsorption experimental data. RTDs(Residence Time Distributions ) were measured and axial dispersion coefficients were obtained in the fixed bed absorber according to the changes of the flow rate using 0.05% -NaCl. From the adsorption experimental data, it was shown that the behavior of breakthroughs depended on flow rate. Mo recovery yield was increased as adsorption flow rate was increased and desorption flow rate was decreased.

케이블 화재의 화염전파 해석을 위한 FDS 모델의 격자민감도 평가 (Assessment of Grid Sensitivity in the FDS Field Model to Simulate the Flame Propagation of an Electric Cable Fire)

  • The present study has been conducted to examine the effect of grid resolution on the predicted results for electric cable fire using pyrolysis model in FDS(Fire Dynamics Simulator, version 5). The grid independent test for different grid resolutions has been performed for a PE coating cable and the grid resolution is defined by the non-dimensional characteristic length of fire and mean grid size. The calculated maximum heat release rate and mean flame spread rate were almost constant for higher grid resolution of 20${\sim}$25 and the computing time for the grid resolution takes approximately 20hours to solve flame propagation with pyrolysis model. The geometrical simplification of a electric cable dose not greatly affect on the maximum heat release rate and flame spread rate and the rectangular approximation of cable shape gives acceptable result comparing with the round cable with stepwise grid.

  • As Crosby notes, the most companies spend 15 to 20% of their sales dollars on quality costs. Generally the most effective way to manage quality costs is to avoid having defects in the first place. In this paper we have studied about the repair(service) problem of domestic gas boiler within warranty period. We develop a system, which man could find the cause of the problem at an early stage and could devise a countermove to the problem under supposing that the service(repair) rate follows exponential distribution and the product is manufactured lot-for-lot continually. Using the developed early sensing system. it is expected to improve the reliability of the product, to save expenses of company and to improve customer's satisfaction. And the system will be expended to incorporate information technology, which can detect the repair rate automatically.

  • To assess the derailment safety of the Samaeul Train, We developed a fleet analysis model and carried out sensitivity analysis of the variables related to derailment factors with ADAMS/Rail computing analysis method. Depending on the variation of the running speed in curve section, derailment coefficient and wheel load reduction rate are high at right side wheels in slow running speed section and low at left side wheel in high running speed. According to decreasing the radius of curve, derailment coefficient and wheel load decreasing rate are increased. Derailment coefficient is proportional to transition curve length and wheel load decreasing rate is constant. Cant value rising causes wheel load deduction rate rising.

가연성 가스의 폭발특성에 대한 연구 (A Study on The Explosion Characteristics of Flammable Gases)

  • An experimental study was carried out to analyse the explosion characteristics of flammable gas-air mixtures. Used flammable gases were hydrogen, methane, acethylene, ethylene and pro-pane, explosion Pressure, explosoin pressure rising rate, and flame propagation velocity were measured experimentaly. The maximum explosion pressure and rising rate of flammmalbe gas air mixtures were appeared at the range of slightly higher concentration than the stoichiometric concentration. Initial pressure before explosion was controlled from 0.6 to 2.0kg/cm absolutly. Explosion pressure was increased with increment of the initial pressure, and the relationship between initial pressure and explosion pressure was Pe = KPi. The effect of vessel size on explosion characteristics was also analysed In this experiment. Explosion pressure was increased with in-creasing the vessel size, otherwise explosion pressure rising rate was decreased. When we locate a dummy material in vessel explosion pressure was decreased with increasing the dummy volume but exlosion pressure rising rate was increased.
