한반도 연안 조위편차의 확률밀도함수 (Probability Density Function of the Tidal Residuals in the Korean Coast)

  • 조위편차는 최근 기후변화에 의한 영향으로 연안 안전 방재 측면에서 매우 중요한 인자로 부각되고 있다. 태풍강도 등과 더불어 변화가 예상되는 조위편차는 해안구조물의 안전 및 기능검토에 필요한 기준해수면 결정에 기여하는 중요한 인자이다. 우리나라 연안 조위편차의 확률밀도함수는 음 양의 왜도와 정규분포보다 큰 돌도를 가지는 분포로, 정규분포로 근사화하는 방법은 한계가 있기 때문에 본 연구에서는 비모수적 방법인 Kernel 함수를 이용하여 확률밀도함수를 추정 제안하였다. 본 연구에서 제안된 확률밀도함수는 조위편차자료의 분포와 매우 우수한 일치수준을 보이고 있으며, 다양한 극값 추정에도 높은 수준의 정도를 보여주고 있다.

  • When a ship sails on sea, it may be influenced by the environmental disturbance such as wind, wave, sea surface temperature, etc. These affect on the ship's speed, fuel consumption, safety and operating performance. It is necessary to find the optimal weather route of a ship to avoid adverse weather conditions which can put the crews in serious danger or cause structural damage to the vessel, machinery, and equipment. This study introduced how to apply A* algorithm based on sea trial test data for determining the optimal ship routes. The path cost function was modelled as a function of minimum arrival time or minimum energy depending on the time of various environment conditions. The specially modelled path-cost function and the safety constraints were applied to the A* algorithm in order to find the optimal path of the ship. The comparison of ship performances estimated by real sea trial's path and estimated optimal route during the voyage of the ship was investigated. The result of this study can be used to create a schedule to ensure safe operation of the ship with short passage time or minimum energy. In addition, the result of this study can be integrated into an on-board decision supporting expert system and displayed in Electronic Chart Display and Information System (ECDIS) to provide all the useful information to ship master.

반응표면법을 이용한 석탄 화력 보일러 연소특성 예측 (Prediction of the Combustion Performance in the Coal-fired Boiler using Response Surface Method)

  • The experimental design methodology was applied in the real scale coal-fired boiler to predict the various combustion properties according to the operating conditions and to assess the coal plant safety. Response surface method (RSM) was introduced as a design of experiment, and the database for RSM was provided with the numerical simulation of the coal-fired boiler. The three independent variables, high heating value of coal (HHV), overall stoichiometry excess air ratio (OST), and burner-side stoichiometry excess air ratio (BST), were set to characterize the cross section averaged NOx concentration and temperature distribution. The maximum NOx concentration was predicted accurately and mainly controlled by BST in the boiler. The parabola function was assumed for the zone averaged peak temperature distribution, and the prediction was in a fairly good agreement with the experiments except downstream. Also, the location of the peak temperature was compared with that of maximum NOx, which implies that thermal NOx formation is the main mechanism in the coal-fired boiler. These results promise the wide use of statistical models for the fast prediction and safety assessment.

화재시 제연 및 피난을 위한 기능성 차압 조절장치 개발에 관한 연구 (The Development of a Functional Pressure Controller in Smoke Management Systems for the Fire Safety of Buildings)

  • The smoke and toxic gases generated from the building fires are proved to cause human death. Therefore, the necessity and significance of smoke control have been emphasized, and lots of studies for developing improved smoke management system have been carried out. In this study, the experiments were conducted to evaluated a function and performance in newly developed smoke management system using mechanical pressurization. As a result of this experiment, the differential pressure was 40Pa${\sim}$60Pa and the air velocity through the door was 0.7m/s between safety zone and fire zone. The functional pressure control equipment which could make proper pressure and maintain differential pressure between safety zone and fire zone was developed. And it will give a lot of helps to evacuation activity for peoples in building and fire fighting.

The system requirement assist the system designer to understand the performance and function of system in basic design. For this process, system engineer have to manage the system requirement. This paper proposes the management contents of system requirement such as change management, requirement traceability, etc, for HEMU-400X.

  • Exceeding the speed limit during vehicle driving is a key factor in the severity of lots of road accidents, and SLIF(Speed Limit Information Function) application is in the initial phase in Korea. SLIF helps the drivers to observe a speed limit when they are driving by providing alert and informing the current limit speed information based on external data using camera and/or digital map, for that reason, environmental conditions could be causes of SLIF malfunctions. In this study, design adequacy analysis of SLIF in respect of false recognition as the Korea traffic environment has been performed. As tentative results, road conditions and structure of speed limit sign as well as system performance often caused misrecognition.

다축 하중 구조물의 동적 피로수명 예측 (The Prediction of Dynamic Fatigue Life of Multi-axial Loaded Structure)

  • The purpose of this paper is to compare with estimation of equivalent fatigue load in time domain and frequency domain and estimate the fatigue life of structure with multi-axial vibration loading. The fatigue analysis with two methods is implemented with various signals like random, sinusoidal signals. Also an equivalent fatigue life estimated by rainflow cycle counting in time domain is compared with results estimated with probability density function of each signal in frequency domain. In case of frequency domain, equivalent fatigue life can estimate through Dirlik's method with probability density function. And the work proposed in this paper compared the fatigue damage accumulated under uni-axial loading to that induced by multi-axial loading. The comparison is preformed for a simple cantilever beam, which is exposed to vibrations of several directions. For verification of estimation performance of fatigue life, results are compared to those of FEM analysis (ANSYS).

  • 가스사고 연감에 의하면 최근 가연성 및 독성 가스로 인한 사고가 끊임없이 발생하고 있다. 이러한 사고를 예방하기 위하여 위험지역에서도 안전하게 가스 누출여부를 검사할 수 있는 검지기를 개발하고자 한다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 적외선 가스센서의 응답특성에 근사하는 방정식을 선형회귀를 이용하여 도출하였다. 선형회귀방정식을 통해 도출된 결과를 Neville 반복 보간법을 활용하여 알고리즘을 제안하였다. 또한, 제안한 알고리즘을 시판중인 가연성 가스누출검지기와 한국가스안전공사에서 제조한 7종의 표준가스를 이용하여 시험을 한 결과 성능이 향상될 수 있음을 확인하였다. 향후 경년변화, 온 습도 조건에 따른 성능변화를 분석하고, 방폭구조를 적용한 회로를 적용함으로서 신뢰성과 안정성을 향상시키고자 한다.

스윙형 역지밸브 성능 평가 방법 (Performance Evaluation Method of a Swing Check Valve)

  • In spite of its simple design, structure and operating mechanism, swing check valves are one of the critical components which adversely affect the safety of the nuclear power plants if they fail to function properly. Therefore, it is important to evaluate the performance condition of the swing check valves in safety-related systems. The performance characteristics of swing check valves include opening characteristics, the minimum required flow velocity, the pressure drop at design flow, the disc stability, and the effect of the upstream disturbances. Among factors to identify the performance of a swing check valve, a method to evaluate the opening characteristics and the minimum required flow velocity, which guarantees to fully open the disc and hold the disc without motion, are presented to determine the operating region of the swing check valve, such as stable, tapping, or oscillation. Based on the determined operating region and opening characteristics, the simple methods of wear and fatigue analyses of the specific parts of the valve are also described.
