  • The occurrence of a corona is that electrical discharge due to the heterogeneity that occurs when an electrical field is concentrated in an electrode due to a cusp formed on said electrode. Wire treatment at the end of a 154[kV] dead end clamp for end users accelerates the occurrence of corona, which in turn leads to power loss and noise. In this study, the characteristics of the corona which occurs between porcelain insulators and support clamps of overhead lines used in 154[kV] power receiving facilities for end users were investigated. The corona, which cannot be identified by one common method, was measured utilizing a UV image camera. A risk assessment for fire damage and its status was suggested. The stress distribution of the electrical field by length of bare wire was suggested by means of the finite element method(FEMLAB). As a result, it was found to affect a porcelain insulators. These results can be utilized for the enhancement of clamp installation and safety in power facilities.

  • While the vessel become bigger and high speed, navigational passages become narrow due to an enlargement of all sorts of new ports, sea-crossing bridges and anchorages, leading to the high probability of marine accidents. Furthermore, a constant increase in the maritime transportation and the traffic volume on the sea led to a variety of sea traffic environments and it is a trend for the demand for the sea transportation environment to increase steadily. At this point of time, the Ministry of Land, Transport, and Maritime Affairs introduced the Korea Maritime Safety Laws evaluating the degree that The Safety Audit System for maritime transport, which evaluates the degree that all kinds of port facilities installed temporarily or installed into navigational passages, and the installations and repair constructions of S.O.C. facilities affect ships' traffic safety, was introduced through Korea Maritime Safety Laws and went into effect from November 28th, 2009. This study was performed to introduce an outline including the concept and purpose of the Maritime Safety Audit(MSA) system for maritime transport and the technological guidelines for scientific and standardized enforcement, thereby analyzing the system.

  • In this paper, an index of women's safety facilities was created and visualized using public data related to Seoul. CPTED, the women's safety facilities index was created by collecting and analyzing eight data related to the local women's safety index and five major crime victims of women. As a result of the correlation analysis between the factors of the female safety facility index and the number of female crime victims, three data were selected as the main factors, "CCTV," "street lamps," and "female security guardians", which were found to be meaningful at the 95% level of reliability. The distinction women's safety facility index was calculated by weighting the correlation coefficient between the main factors for calculating the women's safety facility index, and visualized using Python's Follium library.

  • As the demand for hydrogen increases, the facilities for storing hydrogen has been important, and a few laws for hydrogen facilities should be complied. According to the Occupational Safety and Health Act in Korea, in case liquid hydrogen with a storage capacity of 5 tons or more is handled, a Process Safety Management (PSM) system should be complied. However, there are some standards which are not proper for flammable low-temperature liquefied substances on the current Occupational Safety and Health Act. In this study, 7 key points in process safey information and safety operation procedures among PSM components are suggested and how these key points should be improved is derived based on scientific analysis.

  • When NaOCl was generated and put into sea-water cooling machine in order to overcome the biological hindrances against sea-water cooling machine, it was converted into metallic ion, particularly Ca and Mg, as a hydrate in sea-water and is to stick to electrolyte as a side reaction. This phenomena make the distance between the electrolytes narrow to decrease the flow rate, which induces the local vortex flow which erodes the pole plate. Moreover, this increases the resistance of the electrolyte as well as voltage to decrease the electrolytic efficiency, which has curtailed a chlorine yield and caused a pole plate cut. We are able to overcome these problems by chemical cleaning and intend to extend the life-time of electrolyte and to increase output of the sea-water electrolysis facilities by studying optimal policy regarding chemical cleaning of electrolytic cell. Cleaning time of electrolytic facilities is determined when both increase in electrolytic efficiency and decrease in pole-plate voltage are 10%. At this time as operating current of electrolytic facilities is high, operating time is diminished. Whereas, parameter of end point determination according to cleaning is Mg ionic concentration in solution. When we use Cleaner as a 7wt% HCl, cleaning time is about 80min proper. We are able to maintain pole plate performance by protecting against pole plate cut by means of electrolytic by-product, improve operating rate of facilities, and cut down on maintenance expenditure after acidic cleaning.

  • This article analyzed the building regulations, the guidelines for the people with disabilities, and the interior environment of the transportation facilities of Stockholm and Oslo, which wee capital cities of leading countries in this field. Result showed that Swedish 'BBR 94' was made and based on accessibility, safety, and efficiency. But the mandatory items and detailed recommendations were minimal. 'The Swedish Handicap Institute' provided more detailed requirements. As a result of case studies of 4 facilities, it appeared that these facilities used sufficient dimension, variable color, different material, or adaptable lightings in order to provide easy accessibility, adaptability, safety, support, and mobility for the people with disabilities instead of keeping the building regulations and guidelines reluctantly.

  • The present article reports the results of a basic study for improving the fire safety of postpartum care centers. In the case of postnatal care center facilities, newborn babies and mothers reside 24 hours a day, and as they are located in high-rise and multi-use facilities, measures for fire safety are necessary, but there are no domestic manuals. This study examined the problems of fire safety through an analysis of fire cases of postpartum care facilities and related regulations, and conducted surveys on the fire safety consciousness of employees and mothers regarding postpartum care management. The fire safety consciousness of the mother was analyzed.

  • As interest in sustainable and eco-friendly energy increases due to various problems in the carbon economy, a hydrogen economy that utilizes hydrogen as a main energy source is emerging. Among the methods of producing hydrogen, the water electrolysis method based on renewable energy produces environmentally friendly green hydrogen because it produces hydrogen from water. The water electrolysis facility currently under development produces hydrogen by receiving electricity directly from renewable energy and uses KOH(potassium hydroxide) as an electrolyte. In this study, HAZOP(Hazard and Operability Study), a qualitative risk assessment, was conducted on alkaline water electrolysis facilities to find problems and risk factors in the design and operation of water electrolysis facilities. Risks related to oxygen and KOH, an electrolyte, were identified as major risks, and it is believed that the safety of facilities and workers can be secured based on emergency action plans and safe operation procedures.

  • Various support is provided for the increase in the number of private lodging users in farming and fishing villages and related government policies. However, the bed-and-breakfast accommodation in rural areas lack safety standards or safety indicators for the service pension Gangneung, carbon monoxide leak accident in December 2018, 2020 East Sea in January, Pension. Large gas explosion, accident and is threatening the security of their citizens. Unlike lodging facilities, private lodging in farming and fishing villages is allowed to operate with certain requirements such as fire extinguishers and fire alarms. The purpose of this study is to present safety standards and safety indicators for lodging facilities in farming and fishing villages, which are necessary for the operation management and inspection of local governments and the government related to lodging in farming and fishing villages. Through the study, safety management areas of private lodging in farming and fishing villages were divided into facility safety, fire safety, food safety and living safety, and detailed inspection indicators were presented. There is an academic implication that research on safety management of lodging facilities has been expanded through safety research in areas related to private lodging in farming and fishing villages. It has practical implications in that it provides management standards and indicators that can be used for safety management of private lodging in farming and fishing villages. The limitations of this study are that more studies on private lodging in farming and fishing villages are expected to be conducted through the results of this study, and the lack of research on accommodation safety has prevented more detailed indicators from being derived.
