The findings of a 2017 safety inspection of the Three-story Pagoda from the Goseonsa Temple site in Gyeongju suggested the possibility that the stone for the second story of the pagoda may have been rotated after the pagoda was disassembled for removal from its original site in 1975. The materials from the pagoda were investigated using photographs and other relevant data from both the Japanese colonial period and from around 1975. The analysis found that the materials of the pagoda were not changed after analleged reconstruction in 1943, but that during the process of relocating the pagoda in 1975 the body of the second story was indeed rotated counter clockwise by 90 degrees and one of the four stone elements making up the first-story roof was exchanged with a part from the second-story roof. In order to discover whether the materials had been incorrectly placed, each part of the pagoda was precisely measured and the elements of the roofs were virtually reconstructed using 3D scanning data. The investigation did not find any singularities with in the components of each roof; the four part sof the first-story roof were 75 to 76 centimeters thick and those for the second-story roof were 78 to 79 centimeters thick. The connections between each part of the roofs also appeared natural. This seems to indicate that there was indeed an undocumented repair of the pagoda at some point between its creation and 1943 and an error that took place during this repair was corrected in 1975. In addition, the study suggested a possibility that the body of the second story was rotated counter clockwised to a change in the locations of parts of the two roofs.
In-cryostat helium lines are under installation to transfer a cryogenic helium into cold components in KSTAR device. In KSTAR, three kinds of helium should be supplied into the cold components, which are supercritical helium Into superconduction(SC) magnet system, liquid helium into current lead system, and gas helium into thermal shields. Cryogenic helium lines consist of transfer lines outside the cryostat, in-cryostat helium lines, and electrical breaks. In-cryostat helium lines should be guaranteed of leak tightness for tong time operation at high internal helium pressure of 20 bar. We wrapped the helium line with multi-layer insulator(MLI) to reduce radiation heat and insulated the surface of the high potential part with prepreg tape. The electrical break was fabricated by brazing ceramic tube with stainless steel tube. To ensure the operation reliability at operation temperature, all the electrical break have been examined by the thermal cycle test at liquid nitrogen and by the hydraulic test at 30 bar. And additional surface insulation was prepared with prepreg tape to give structural safety. At present most of the in-cryostat helium lines have been installed and the final inspection test is progressing.

This study focused on the regulations and support system of green rooftop landscaping between Korea and China. Our research found out regulations and support system to review the supplement point to understand the present state of green rooftop landscaping in the two countries. We aimed to provide basic legal information for the development of green rooftop landscaping regulations. Also, a management plan guide and after-evaluation guide were suggested. First, roof load safety is the foremost factor for the structure of green rooftop landscaping. It includes not only considering the weight of construction materials, but also accurately calculating weight of rain, snow and the rooftop's capacity for people when the rooftop is designed. Second, the appropriate waterproof and root material should be selected basing on climatic conditions. Third, a maintenance and management plan needs to be established to regularly check the plant, facilities, soil and to maintain them. Fourth, the criteria of quality inspection are waterproof and root resistant material, and the growth and development of plants. Waterproof and root resistant materials are a very important part of rooftop greening, so they must be strictly inspected after construction. Fifth, the support system of rooftop greening should be continuously improved. The choice of the object and the amount of support should be strictly stipulated so that the construction of rooftop is promoted when volunteers do rooftop greening.

Risk of radiation worker and radiation workplace are being mainly assessed by exposure dose. But, the radiation used in radiation workplace and the work environment are different. Because the nondestructive work environment varies depending on the work subject, the existence and nonexistence of shielding board, and so on. So, we need to consider the various factors in effective radiation protection aspect. We conducted a survey of radiation workers with over two years' experience in NDT workplace and heared the thoughts of experts. As a result, radiation source, exposure dose, current status of workplace management, workers with personel dosimetry problem and status of periodic regulatory inspection were chosen as main factors of radiation risk index model. Also, we primarily set weighting factors in order of importance based on questionnaires. Finally, we determined weighting factor for details of main factors through the professional advice. Therefore, we will be able to develop the radiation risk index model for assessing the risk of nondestructive test workplace based on main factors that are selected through this study.

Recently, many accidents occur frequently because sprinklers aren't installed or don't work right when there are outbreak of fire in houses and aggregate buildings. Therefore, they can result in damage for humans and loss of property. Sprinklers are the most appropriate which can extinguish buildings' fire in the initial stages. Through lack of legal system, in domestic cases, sprinklers cannot operate their inherent performance. Domestic standard simply classifies installation objects according to types of business and forms of buildings, also divides into uses and floors of buildings. Especially it only regulates that sprinklers must be installed every floors in particular fire buildings that have more than eleven floors. While it doesn't need to install sprinklers below ten floors, so we are threatened the safety. In this study, we derived causes and implications by analyzing concepts of sprinklers facilities, installation standards in domestic and foreign legal system, and recent cases that expanded damages in fire accidents because of weak point of installation and control standards. In domestic cases, as a result, government has to provide an institutional strategy and law that regulate duty to install sprinklers to all aggregate buildings regardless of floors in terms of new buildings. Also, if someone who has existing buildings wanted to install them, government would guarantee subsidy to encourage installation. In addition, government supervises fire-fighting activities when there are fire by compensating standards about regular inspection by a qualified technician, operation and maintenance of sprinklers as well as reinforcement of administrative criteria.
Underground structures such as a tunnel have been considered as safer than structures on the ground during earthquake. However, severe damages of underground structures occurred at subway tunnel during 1995 Kobe Earthquake and such damages are gradually increased. In this study, a dynamic behavior of a cut and cover tunnel surrounded by weathered soils is investigated using Mohr-Coulomb Model. Parametric study was carried out for boundary conditions, tensile strength, and earthquake magnitudes. The results of numerical analyses in terms of ground deformations and stresses acting on the lining were quite dependent on the side boundary condition (free or fix conditions) and tensile strength of surrounding soils. The ground was deformed upward at the end of earthquake when the side boundary condition was fixed, whereas residual deformations were not predicted when it was free. When the tensile strength of a soil was set to the same as its cohesion, residual deformation was less than 1cm, regardless of side boundary conditions or input accelerations. In addition to that, stress conditions at the maximum deformation and end of earthquake were within an allowable range and considered as safe. Proper boundary conditions and material properties such as tensile strength are quite important because they may significantly impact on the results of dynamic analyses.

This study examined the integrity of diesel engines for underwater vessels through failure analysis, analyzed the causes of abnormal diesel engine stoppage during building and examined the integrity of secondary damages. The diesel engine stoppage was analyzed by checking the temperature change of the piston before and after the abnormality and checking the damage. In addition, in order to analyze the secondary damage caused by the explosion, the tensile and compressive stresses transmitted to the crankshaft, the core part of the diesel engine, were calculated, and the stress distribution was examined through finite element analysis, but the crankshaft was designed by safety. It was confirmed that there was no damage to the crankcase even when the diesel engine was taken out of the ship and closely inspected. The integrity of the crank shaft was verified in advance for the occurrence of diesel engine emergency shutdown accidents through this research result. Therefore, the inspection and restoration were carried out to the minimum extent, and the quality of diesel engines was secured. This study is expected to be used as a reference for ensuring soundness in any future review of diesel engine quality problems.

Purpose - The number of consumers adopting a lifestyle of health and sustainability has recently increased with the rise of trends in healthy living. The size of the organic agricultural product market has also increased given that these consumers prefer consuming environmentally friendly products that promote family health. However, awareness of organic agricultural products remains insufficient because of the characteristics of the Korean organic agriculture system, which only focuses on food safety inspection. The object of this research is to suggest a policy approach to increase understanding and to expand the purchasing of organic agricultural products by analyzing the influence of customer recognition of such products on their willingness to repurchase. Research design, data, and methodology - This study used binomial logistic regression analysis with the aim of explaining the effects of consumers' socio-demographic characteristics, their awareness of the equivalence arrangement for organic food and of the abolishment of low-pesticide agricultural product certification, and their viewing of negative broadcasts about organic agricultural products on their repurchase intention of such products. A questionnaire survey was conducted with 655 respondents who were in their 20s, lived either in Seoul or in its metropolitan area, and had purchased organic agricultural products. Result - From the results of the analysis, the majority of the respondents recognized organic agricultural products, but they found their prices to be expensive. The majority of the respondents were also aware of the certification system and the reliability of organic agricultural products. However, the results indicate that efforts need to be made to recover consumer trust as many respondents stated that their trust levels in these products were low. In general, those purchasing organic agricultural products were satisfied, but those answering "very satisfied" were not in the majority. Binomial logistic regression analysis results revealed that repurchase intention decreased as consumers viewed a greater number of negative broadcasts about these products. On the other hand, repurchase intention increased as they became more aware of the abolishment of low-pesticide certification. Repurchase intention also increased as income increased, as the number of family members decreased, and when a consumer was a member of a consumer organization. In addition, the older the consumers were who watched the TV programs, the smaller the number of family members that were aware of the abolishment of low-pesticide agricultural product certification and, the higher the income of the consumers aware of organic equivalence arrangement, the greater their repurchase intention. Conclusion - External stimuli, such as negative TV programs on organic agricultural products and the abolishment of the low-pesticide agricultural product certification, relevant social issues and systems, influence consumer repurchase intention. To that end, positive environmental and ecological broadcasting about organic agricultural products would contribute to an increase in purchasing. Additionally, this could be used for promotion and marketing plans as the results indicate that trust in organic agricultural products would cause a positive repurchasing effect.
Korea's agricultural reservoir is one of the country's major infrastructures and plays an important role in people's lives. However, aging reservoirs are a risk for life and property. Currently, large and small dams and reservoirs have been constructed nationwide for more than 40 years of aging. Dams and reservoirs built nationwide are managed by various institutions. Therefore, it is difficult to manage all dams and reservoirs due to cost and time. Managers in the field with less management personnel and lack of expertise should be able to quickly identify risk factors for multiple reservoirs. In this study, risk factors such as seepage, leakage, settlement slide, crack and erosion were selected. To assess the risk of the items, we used the analytical hierarchical process (AHP), one of the Multi-Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) methods. The analysis showed that seepage has the greatest impact on reservoir collapse. It is judged that the priority of detailed diagnosis can be determined by evaluating the risk of dam reservoir collapse in a convenient way in advance using the calculated weight.
It is difficult to analyze and predict the long-term behavior of concrete structures and members under multiaxial stresses because most of existing researches on creep of concrete were mainly concerned about uniaxial stress state. Therefore, the main objective of this paper is the investigation of creep properties of concrete under multiaxial stresses. This paper presents experimental study on creep of concrete under multiaxial compression. Twenty seven cubic specimens($20{\times}20{\times}20 cm$) for three concrete mixes were tested under uniaxial, biaxial, and triaxial stress states. Creep strains were measured in three directions of principal stresses. Poisson's ratio at the initial loading was obtained, as was Poisson's ratio due to creep stain and Poisson's ratio due to the combined creep strain and elastic strain. These Poisson's ratios were approximately equal for each concrete mix. The Poisson's ratio at the initial loading and the Poisson's ratio for the combined strain Increased slightly as the strength of the concrete increased. In addition, the volumetric creep strain and deviatoric creep strain were linearly proportional to volumetric stress and deviatoric stress, respectively.
