대형 Ti-6Al-4V 합금의 Ring-Rolling 공정설계 (Ring-Rolling Design of a Large-Scale Ti-6Al-4V alloy)

  • The ring rolling design for a large-scale Ti-6Al-4V alloy ring was performed with a calculation method and FEM simulation. The ring rolling design includes geometry design and optimization of process variables. The calculation method was to determine geometry design such as initial billet and blank size, and final rolled ring shape. A commercial FEM code, SHAPE was used to simulate the effect of process variables in ring rolling on the distribution of the internal state variables such as strain, strain rate and temperature. In order to predict the forming defects during ring rolling, the process-map approach based on Ziegler's instability criterion was used with FEM simulation. Finally, an optimum process design to obtain sound Ti-6Al-4V rings without forming defects was suggested through combined approach of Ziegler's instability map and FEM simulation results.

  • The process design for large-scale ring rolling of Ti-6Al-4V alloy was performed by calculation method, processing map approach and FEM simulation. The ring rolling design includes geometry design and optimization of process variables. The calculation method was used to make geometry design such as initial billet and blank sizes, and final rolled ring shape. A commercial FEM code, SHAPE-RR was used to simulate the effect of process variables in ring rolling on the distribution of the internal state variables such as strain, strain rate and temperature. In order to predict the forming defects during ring rolling and the formation of over-heating above $\beta$-transus temperature due to deformation heating, the process-map approach based on Ziegler's instability criterion was used with FEM simulation. Finally, an optimum process design to obtain sound Ti-6Al-4V rings without forming defects was suggested through combined approach of Ziegler's instability map and FEM simulation results.

  • This study is concerned with the relation between steelbelt and belt edge separation. Belt edge separation causes tire burst and threatens passenger's safety. For that reason, it is important to predict durability caused by belt edge separation first in tire structure design step. In this study, to predict belt edge separation, we suggest the prediction method of belt edge separation and evaluate the effect of steelbelt width on the belt edge separation using FEM. We study on analysis parameter also to do exact estimation about the shear behaviour of belt edge area.

초경량 인라인 스케이트 프레임의 피로 내구성 평가 (Evaluation of Fatigue Endurance for an Ultra-light-weight Inline Skate Frame)

  • In order to evaluate fatigue endurance for an ultra-light weight inline skate frame, FEM analysis was performed. Tensile properties and a S-N curve were determined through tensile and fatigue tests on a modified Al-7075+$S_c$ alloy. The yield and ultimate tensile strengths were 553.3 MPa and 705.5 MPa, respectively. The fatigue endurance limit of this alloy was 201.2 MPa. For evaluating the fatigue endurance of the inline skate frame, the S-N data were compared with the stress analysis results through FEM analysis of the frame. The maximum Von-Mises stress of the frame was determined 106 MPa through FEM analysis of the frame, assuming that the rider weight is 75 Kg. Conclusively, on the basis of fatigue limit, the inline skate frame has a safety factor of approximately 2.0.

  • In this research on-line model for the prediction of the effective strain distribution in strip on finishing mill process is presented. To describe the effective strain distribution in strip, three guide points and a distribution fitting variable are used. On-line models to get these points and fitting variable non-dimensionalization method and least square method were used with FEM simulation results. The model is developed using strip only FEM simulation as reference sets and compared with roll coupled FEM simulation results as perturbed sets. The on-line model to describe effective strain distribution shows good agreement with coupled FEM analysis results.

  • This study is an investigation for the ADS optimum design by using FEM. We write out program which express ADS perfectly and reduce the required time for correcting of model to the minimum in solution and manufacture result. We complete algorithm which can plan optimum forming of model by feedback error information in CAE. For that, we draw up ADS program which modeling rachet wheel by using visual LISP and telegraph to ANSYS, structural solution program, we can solve stress solution. Then we correct model by feedback date obtaining in solution process, repeat course following stress solution again and do modeling rachet wheel for optimum forming. That is our aim. As a result of experience, we can develope automatic design program using Visual LISP and exhibit ADS as modeling third dimension CAD for optimum design. Also, we develop optimum design algorithm using ADS and FEM. In rachet wheel, greatest equivalence stress originates in key groove comer and KS standard is proved the design for security.

  • 멤브레인은 LNG온도에 따른 열수축과 팽창을 흡수하는 주름을 가지고 있는 스테인레스판으로 저장탱크 내부에 설치된다. 유한요소 해석법을 적용하여 LNG저장탱크용 멤브레인을 개발하였다. 액압 및 온도 하중 조건에 따른 멤브레인 주름부의 변형 거동 특성 및 강도 그리고 앵커 고정부의 반력을 구하였고 이 해석 데이터를 바탕으로 멤브레인의 안정성과 피로강도를 확인하였다.

  • The main object of this study is to develop a reliable FEM simulation technique for the analysis of Steel D&I Can bodymaking process using ABAQUS software. The body making process includes drawing, redrawing, 3 step ironing, doming. The newly developed FEM code in this research is based on the previous research achievement of POSCO for the drawing, redrawing and ironing process. The analysis is performed using two dimensional axisymmetric elements to analyze the punch force, the height of can, the distribution of residual stress and strain. The effect of blank thickness, gap of ironing die is also analyzed.
