Amyloidosis is a rare disease that results from the deposition of extracellular protein in various body tissues, causing progressive organ dysfunction. Secondary renal amyloidosis is a rare but serious complication of chronic inflammatory bowel disease, particularly in patients with Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis. We report a case of secondary renal amyloidosis in a pediatric patient who reported a 16-year history of "very early onset inflammatory bowel disease". Intensive treatment including repeated infliximab infusions improved clinical parameters of inflammatory bowel disease, although renal dysfunction showed progression. Amyloidosis should be considered in patients with IBD, particularly if they suffered disease progression.

Purpose: To investigate effect of Sweet Bee Venom on postpartum's De Quervain's Disease. Methods: We investigated 3 patients diagnosed as De Quervain's Disease. Sweet Bee Venom Herbal-acupuncture was used for treatment of De Quervain's Disease, once every two days, 5 times. Pain, satisfaction at treatment and function of wrist were measured with VNS, Baumgaertner's nine point scale and dynamometer. Results: Pain reduction, functional improvement, increased grip power were found out in cases treated with Sweet Bee Venom Herbal-acupuncture. In every cases, they represent high subjective satisfaction with treatment. Conclusion: Clinical results show that Sweet Bee Venom Herbal-acupuncture has a good analgesic effect in De Quervain's Disease.

Since Swenson and Bill established the treatment principles of Hirshsprung's disease in 1948, there have been significant advances in the management of this disease. During the last decade, one-stage correction of Hirshsprung's disease without colostomy and primary laparoscopic pull-through procedure became popular with recent advances in the technology and refinement of the equipments. But the outcomes for Hirshsprung's disease are not always successful, and long-term follow-up isessential. Most children after corrective surgery show significant improvement in respect to fecal continence and constipation, that may not be apparent until late adolescence. The purpose of this study was to review the postoperative problems of Hirschsprung's disease and it's management.

Objectives: Parkinson's disease is characterized by progressive, irreversible damage to dopamine neurons in the substantia nigra pars compacta, as well as motor and non-motor symptoms. This disease currently has no dependable disease-modifying treatment. In this paper, we describe the treatment of a 67-year-old female with Parkinson's disease using acupuncture and exercise therapy. Case Presentation: Clinical symptoms and the United Kingdom Parkinson's Disease Society Brain Bank Diagnostic Criteria were used to diagnose the patient with Parkinson's disease. Over a 12-week period, the patient visited a Korean medicine hospital 18 times and was treated with acupuncture and exercise therapy in addition to anti-Parkinson's drugs. Before and after treatment, clinical examinations were performed using tools such as the Unified Parkinson's Disease Rating Scale, Fall Efficacy Scale, Parkinson's Disease Questionnaire, Berg Balance Scale, and Non-Motor Symptoms Scale. Furthermore, functional near-infrared spectroscopy was used to assess cortical hemodynamics. All clinical examination results improved after 12 weeks of intervention. In particular, improvements on the Total Unified Parkinson's Disease Rating Scale and Part III of this scale demonstrated large, clinically important differences. Conclusion: This case suggests that combining acupuncture and exercise therapy could produce an effective treatment for Parkinson's disease patients.

This research investigated the effect of the Chaenomelis fructus(CMF) on Alzheimer's disease. The effects of the CMF extract on the behavior in the Morris water maze experiment; the expression of IL-1β, TNF-α, ROS on the microglial cell; IL-1β mRNA, TNF-α mRNA, CD68/GFAP and MDA on the brain tissue; the infarction area of the hippocampus, and brain tissue injury in the mice with Alzheimer's disease induced by βA were investigated. The CMF extract group showed a significant inhibitory effect on the memory deficit on the mice with Alzheimer's disease induced by βA in the Morris water maze experiment. The CMF extract group suppressed the over-expression of IL-1β, TNF-α, IL-1β and TNF-α mRNA, ROS, MDA, CD68/GFAP in the mice with Alzheimer's disease induced by βA. The CMF extract reduced the infarction area of hippocampus, and controlled the injury of brain tissue in the mice with Alzheimer's disease induced by [3A. This study suggest that CMF may be effective for the prevention and treatment of Alzheimer's disease.

The survey was conducted to investigate several factors affecting the disease outcome with 116 infants aged 10 to 24 months residing in Kunsan city, Cheonbuk province . General characteristics, weaning practice , nutrient intake and the actual state for affecting disease were studied. Among many factors, mother's educational status was found to be the most influencing factor for affecting the disease outcome analyzed by oneway ANOVA. The exposure index disease, cold and diarrrhea, against mother's education were analyzed to find out the major factors for disease outcome. The education group up to middle school graduates, mother's job , nutrients supplements, feeding method, sex of baby were the factors, for the high school graduates, job , nutrients supplements were the causes, and the group graduated from the college the above grade mother's health state was the most important factor for the baby exposing to the disease. The disease outcome decreased when the bottle feeding was replaced by breast feeding, sufficient nutrients supplementation was recommended , and health care for mother during pregnancy was strongly advised.

Buerger's disease is a nonatherosclerotic occlusive inflammatory disease of the small and medium arteries, and veins of the distal leg or arm. Percutaneous lumbar sympathectomy is used to lower extremity occlusive vascular disease as well as Buerger's disease. Lumbar sympathectomy improves blood flow and provides pain relief in the lower extremity. We report two cases of lumbar sympathectomy using radiofrequency thermocoagulation in patients with Buerger's disease. After no paresthesia and muscle contracture at 50 Hz, 1 volt and 2 Hz, 3 volts, respectively, radiofrequency lesioning was performed for 90 sec at $80^{\circ}C$. After the procedure, both patients showed skin temperature increases greater than $2^{\circ}C$ on the affected extremity. Both patients received relief from pain and symptoms without complications. We consider that lumbar sympathectomy using radiofrequency thermocoagulation is a safe and effective procedure that can relieve pain in patients with Buerger's disease.

Crohn's disease is an indolent, chronic inflammatory bowel disease capable of involving the entire alimentary tract. The exact etiology and pathogenesis remain unknown despite a long and intensive research, but the finding of various abnormalities of the immune response in patients with Crohn's disease has led to the concepts that immune mechanism is involved in the pathogenesis of this disease. Recently, we have experienced a case of Crohn's disease. So the purpose of this study is to examine the efficacy of Oriental medicine for Crohn's disease.

1. Objectives We analyze throat disease focused on Sasang constitutional medicine and find out throat disease's concept, pathology and medical treatment. 2. Methods We consider term, conceuption, symptoms, mechanism and medical treatment of throat disease in "Dongyisusebowon", "Dongyisusebowon Gabogubon", "Dongyisusebowon sasangchobongwon", "Dongyisasangshinpyun" and "Dongmuyoogo" 3. Results and conclusions 1) We find out throat disease's some concept that are refered variety in sasang constitutional medicine. 2) Throat disease's pathology are different according to sasang constitution. In Soeumin throat disease belong to taeeum syndrome and soeum syndrome, in Soyangin throat disease belong to chest heat syndrome, in Taeumin throat disease belong to dry heat syndrome, in Taeyangin throat disease belong to Yul gyuk syndrome 3) In sasang constitutional medicine, medical treatment of throat disease focus on not throat disease but human being and medical treatment of throat disease are almost internal treatment but in Soyangin and Taeumin, medical treatment of throat disease are external treatment.
