A Bibliometric Analysis on LED Research (계량서지적 기법을 활용한 LED 핵심 주제영역의 연구 동향 분석)

  • The domain of LED is analyzed for describing the current status of Korea's R&D in the domain comparing with those of others quantitatively. Fourteen sub-domains of LED manufacturing technology are selected and the time span for analysis is ten-year: 2001-2010. Bibiliometric analysis is performed by the unit of publication, core researcher, institution and country. Strategical diagram is also produced with devised two indicators: NGI and NPI. As a result, Korea is competitive in the area of Chip Scale Package, but R&D supports in another promising areas, such as large-caliber sapphire wafer, are necessary. It is also revealed that research activities are expanded dominantly in academia, but practical technologies are developed in industrial circle. It is suggested that to support core corporate and to encourage industrial-academic collaboration is essential for systematical technology development and high achievement in prominent areas.

Mobile Commerce Success Factors: A Value-Focused Analysis (모바일 커머스의 성공 요인들에 관한 연구 : 가치 중심적인 분석)

  • Explosive growth of mobile devices over the past years has greatly increased commercial interests in mobile commerce, but mobile commerce has not yet seen enough increase on demand side as anticipated. Despite the slow start, mobile commerce has a lot of potential from users' perspective. In order to make this potential a reality, businesses must focus on the values from their customers' perspective, not technical competencies. This research employed Keeney's(1992) value focused thinking approach and explore values of mobile commerce from actual users' viewpoint. In depth interviews were conducted with seventy Practical users of mobile commerce. Through an extensive focus group sessions, 748 statements obtained from actual users were classified into 18 categories of means objectives and 12 categories of fundamental objectives of mobile commerce. The means-ends network diagram of values seen in mobile commerce by actual users were presented and compared to typical electronic commerce diagram. Results suggest the mobile commerce needs to be handled differently from the traditional electronic commerce.

  • Recently, construction of reinforced concrete tall buildings is widely increased according to the improvement of material quality and design technology. Therefore, differential shortenings of columns due to elastic, creep, and shrinkage have been an important issue. But it has been neglected to predict the Inelastic behavior of RC structures even though those deformations make a serious problem on the partition wall, external cladding, duct, etc. In this paper, analysis system for prediction and compensation of the differential column shortenings considering time-dependent deformations and construction sequence is developed using the objected-oriented technique. Developed analysis system considers the construction sequence, especially time-dependent deformation in early days, and is composed of input module, database module, database store module, analysis module, and analysis result generation module. Graphic user interface(GUI) is supported for user's convenience. After performing the analysis, the output results like deflections and member forces according to the time can be observed in the generation module using the graphic diagram, table, and chart supported by the integrated environment.

Duration of Competition and the Competitive Ability of Red Rice with Rich by Replacement Diagram (적미(赤米)의 경합기간(競合期間)과 밀도(密度)가 수도생육(水稻生育) 및 수량(收量)에 미치는 영향(影響))

  • This experiment was conducted to find out the critical competitive period and competitive ability of rice against red rice. Plant height and number of tillers of rice decreased as red rice competed with rice during active tillering stage. The maximum tillering stage of rice competed with red rice became about 10days earlier than those non-competed. Significant yield reduction of rice was observed in the plots competed for 20 days after transplating or longer. Such a yield reduction can be mainly attributed to the decrease in number of panicles per hill and grain number per panicle. In a replacement diagram for rice and red rice, their competition is turned out being antagonized. The relative yield total was considered lower than 1. Grain number, culm and panicle length of rice was not affected significantly by inter-specific competition. Rice grain yield reduction was highly correlated with the number of panicles of red rice. Three hundred panicles/$m^2$ of the red rice were necessary to reduce rice grain yield by 50% of the check plot.

A Review on the Analysis of the Equatorial Current System and the Variability during the El Niño Period: Focusing on the Misconceptions in the Field of Secondary Education (적도 해류계 분석 및 엘니뇨 시기의 변동에 관한 논의: 중등 교육 현장의 관련 오개념을 중심으로)

  • El Niño is a typical ocean and atmospheric interaction phenomenon that causes climate variability on a global scale, so it has been used as a very important teaching and learning material in the field of earth science. This study summarized the distribution and dynamics of the equatorial current system. The variability of the equatorial current system during the El Niño period and the associated misconceptions were also investigated. The North Equatorial Current, South Equatorial Current, and Equatorial Under Current significantly weaken during El Niño years. However, the variability of the North Equatorial Counter Current (NECC) during the El Niño period cannot be generalized because the NECC shows southward movement with weakening in the northern area and strengthening in the southern area, along its central axis. In the western Pacific, the NECC is further south during El Niño years, and thus, it has an eastward flow in the equatorial western Pacific. Our analysis of a mass media science article, a secondary school exam, and a survey for incumbent teachers confirmed disparate ideas about the equatorial current system's variability during El Niño periods. This is likely due to inaccurate interpretations of the existing El Niño schematic diagram and insufficient understanding of the equatorial current and wave dynamics.

Petrological Study on Basaltic Rocks of the Daljeon-ri Columnar Joint and the Noeseongsan Noerok Site in Pohang, Korea (포항 달전리 주상절리와 뇌성산 뇌록산지의 현무암 비교 분석)

  • The basaltic rocks of Daljeon-ri columnar joint (Natural Monuments # 415) and Noeseongsan Noerok site (Natural Monuments # 547) were analysed in order to understand basalt types of two areas. The basaltic rocks of the Pohang Daljeon-ri columnar joint show a typical porphyritic texture containing phenocrysts (olivine and clinopyroxene) and groundmasses composed of clinopyroxene, plagioclase, and opaque minerals,. In contrast, basaltic rocks of Noeseongsan Noerok are characterized by fine-grained groundmass with large phenocrysts of plagioclase. Other analysis such as magnetic susceptibility, X-ray diffraction and X-ray fluorescence also support the petrological differences of two basalt rocks. The Daljeon-ri basaltic rocks are plotted on phonotephrite volcanic rocks of alkaline series in TAS(total alkali silica), and on within plate basalt in Zr-Ti diagram. The Noeseongsan basalts, on the other hand, are plotted on basaltic andesite to andesite of sub-alkaline series in TAS, and on volcanic arc basalt in Zr-Ti diagram. These results indicate that the original mantle materials between two basalt rocks were different each other, which probably originated from the change of a tectonic setting in the southeastern Korean peninsula during the Miocene.

A Study on Quality Improvement through Analysis of Hub-reduction Failure Occurrence Mechanism for Military Vehicles (군용차량 허브리덕션 고장 메커니즘 분석을 통한 품질개선 연구)

  • For the tactical vehicles operated by the Korean army, the hub-reduction portal axle was applied considering Korea's topographical characteristics. Hub-reduction was applied to a Korean military vehicle to increase the vehicle body to secure ground clearance and improve the driving capability on rough roads, such as unpaved and field land by increasing the torque. The Korean military is operating tactical vehicles after various performance tests, including durability driving, but wheel damage occurred in one of the vehicles operating in the front units. Failure analysis revealed many damaged parts, including the hub, making it difficult to determine the cause. Therefore, an analysis of the failure occurrence mechanism for each damaged part was conducted, which confirmed that the cause of wheel breakage was a hub. Furthermore, the root cause of the hub breakage was a crack due to internal pores and foreign matters. In addition, a realistic improvement plan that can be applied throughout the design, manufacture, and shipping stages was presented using the fishbone diagram analysis. The derived improvement plan was verified through unit performance tests, including CAE and actual vehicle tests, and by reflecting this, the driving safety of Korean tactical vehicles was improved. Finally, it is expected that the proposed method for analyzing the failure occurrence mechanism will be used as reference material when analyzing the quality problems of similar military vehicles in the future.

Study on security requirements for the web based operation system of a shipping company (웹 기반 해운 선사 운영시스템 보안 요구사항 연구)

  • The operation system of a shipping company is still maintaining the mainframe based terminal access environment or the client/server based environment. Nowadays shipping companies that try to migrate it into a web-based environment are increasing. However, in the transition, if the design is processed by the old configuration and knowledge without considering the characteristics of the web-based environment and shipping business, various security vulnerabilities will be revealed at the actual system operation stage, and system maintenance costs to fix them will increase significantly. Therefore, in the transition to a web-based environment, a security design must be carried out from the design stage to ensure system safety and to reduce security-related maintenance costs in the future. This paper examines the characteristics of various threat modeling techniques, selects suitable modeling technique for the operation system of a shipping company, applies data flow diagram and STRIDE threat modeling technique to shipping business, derives possible security threats from each component of the data flow diagram in the attacker's point of view, validates the derived threats by mapping them with attack library items, represents the attack tree having various attack scenarios that attackers can attempt to achieve their final goals, organizes into the checklist that has security check items, associated threats and security requirements, and finally presents 23 security requirements that can respond to threats. Unlike the existing general security requirements, the security requirements presented in this paper reflect the characteristics of shipping business because they are derived by analyzing the actual business of a shipping company and applying threat modeling technique. Therefore, I think that the presented security requirements will be of great help in the security design of shipping companies that are trying to proceed with the transition to a web-based environment in the future.

Analysis of Anti-Jamming Techniques for Satellite Navigation Systems (위성항법시스템을 위한 항재밍 기술 분석)

  • GNSS(Global Navigation Satellite System) is now being widely used in both civilian and military applications where accurate positioning and timing information are required and it is considered as a representative convergence technique in IT-Military application techniques. However, GNSS has low sensitivity level of GNSS receivers and is vulnerable to jamming signal, since the signals come from the satellite located at approximately 20,000 Km above the earth. The studies for the anti-jamming techniques in military applications have been passively performed in the domestic, because the information related GNSS are dependent on the countries that have GNSS. In this paper, we show the effect of jammer ERP by analyzing the link budget of GPS J/S power as a function of distance between jammer and receiver. Also, we categorize the anti-jamming techniques based on the functional block diagram of GNSS receiver structure and analyze the recent anti-jamming GNSS products and their technologies developed in domestic and foreign countries.

Engineering Status of Gasification Plant in 300MW IGCC and Performance Prediction of Gasification Block (300MW급 IGCC 가스화 플랜트의 엔지니어링 현황 및 가스화 블록 성능예측)

  • 미국과 유럽에서는 이미 10여 년 전부터 250MW급 이상의 대용량 석탄IGCC 플랜트를 상업운전 하고 있으며, 일본과 중국을 비롯한 아시아에서도 대용량 플랜트를 시운전하고 있거나 건설 중에 있다. 한국에서는 제4차 전력수급계획에 의거 태안화력 부지 내에 300MW급 IGCC 플랜트 건설을 추진 중이며, 두산중공업은 '10년 상반기에 IGCC 가스화 플랜트에 대한 FEED 설계 (Front-Eng Engineering Design)를 완료하였다. 그 과정 중 설계조건에 의한 기본 엔지니어링 사항과 석탄 가스화 플랜트에 대한 성능예측 결과를 본 연구에서 소개한다. 가스화 플랜트의 엔지니어링은 가스화 블록과 가스정제 블록으로 구분하여 수행하였다. Process Data를 이용하여 PFD Development, P&ID Generation, Equipment Specification 개발, HAZOP 수행, Architecture Engineering 등의 순으로 FEED 설계를 진행하였다. BOD (Basis of Design)를 기준으로 운전조건별 Heat & Mass Balance와 Process Flow를 재검토하고 각 기기별 운전개념을 반영하여 P&ID를 개발하였다. 그리고 배관, 전기 및 제어에 대한 각종 Diagram 개발과 HSE (Health, Safety and Environment) 관련 설계를 수행하였다. IGCC 1호기의 엔지니어링 수행과 함께 Next 호기 자체설계 역량 확보를 위해 두산중공업은 'DIGITs'로 명명된 개념기본설계 Tool을 개발하고 있다. DIGITs는 공정모델링, 단위기기 개념설계, 공정구성 (Process Configuration) 및 종합 Database Package 형태로 구성된다. DIGITs에 의한 계산 결과 공정사 Process Data 기준시 가스화 블록 출구에서 Syngas HHV와 Syngas 현열은 각각 약 $636MW_{th}$와 약 $18MW_{th}$로, Plant 설계조건 $630MW_{th}$를 만족하는 것으로 예측되었다. 향후 DIGITs는 가스정제 블록 및 주변 BOP 설비 등과 연계한 종합 개념기본설계 Tool로써 개발 진행 중이다.
