There was a rapid population change accompanied with changes in population structure recently in Korea. The changes were nationwide though greater in rural, where the population decreased steeply, through the internal migration from rural to urban. There, in the structure of Gun's population, severely distorted features have been shown in the study. Also, the structure differ greatly by Gun. It indicated that the rural problems were much more serious than anticipated when analyzed generally. It tells us that we should consider the problems related with different population structure in developing the programs for the rural.
Agricultural production facilities that have been established to support improving food production, farm income, and reduction of farming time have remarkable achievements as value-neutral devices or infrastructures, but recently they are pointed out as a factor that hinders landscape by changing the contextual values of rural area. Despite this timelessness, research on the landscape design of agricultural production facilities has not been conducted until now. Based on these research necessities, this study aims to improve the process of reviewing the landscape of agricultural production facilities by analyzing the impact of activities, policies, plans. The results of this study are as follows. First, the analysis of the literature and the related data were carried out. This presents the structural limitations of why landscape review is difficult in the process of reviewing plans and the limitations of current landscape laws, deliberations, and plans. The process of reviewing the plan has formed a functionally oriented closed network, and the government policy does not properly control the landscape design of agricultural production facilities. From the viewpoint of the study, results can be used as basic data for the study of the lack of agricultural production facilities and landscape.

Loan monitoring is a fundamental element of credit control. The importance of loan monitoring is to reduce loan defaults and to increase loan repayment performance. The ex-post monitoring can also increase the loan quality and thus a concern to many creditors in the market economy. This study identifies the role of ex-post monitoring on loan repayment performance in the context of rural Vietnam. Employing primary data from rural areas of Vietnam, this study investigates the impacts of ex-post monitoring on loan repayment performance of individual borrowers in terms of on-time loan repayment and the rate of loan repayment. Descriptions of borrower demographics, loan information, and ex-post monitoring show the initial picture of borrowers and loans in Vietnam's rural areas. Quantitative estimations that use the Probit and the Tobit model confirm the argument that better ex-post monitoring would result in better loan repayment performance in both on-time repayment and repayment rate. Thus, some policy suggestions have been made to improve the monitoring system in each financial institution. The study also indicates that some other factors too affect loan repayment performance such as borrower's characteristics (education, agricultural working area, and income) as well as loan's characteristics (loan size, maturity, and loan purpose).
Objective: Despite known associations between negative body image and health declines in chronic pain patients, few studies have examined longitudinal associations between psychological stress and perceived hand deformities. This study examined whether psychological distress was associated with hand deformities 4 years later and if rural and urban adults differed in the association. Design: A community-based cohort study. Methods: Community dwelling adults (mean age=51.97, 52.3% women) in a rural (n=2968) and urban area (n=2784) provided demographic data at baseline and, in the 4-year follow-up, responded to questionnaires about psychological distress. Perceived hand deformities were assessed at the 8-year follow-up. Linear regression was conducted to examine the effects of psychological distress on hand deformities and moderation by residential areas. Results: The perceived hand deformities were more likely among those with severe psychological stress, hand osteoarthritis, or any chronic disease condition (p<0.01) but less likely among those with younger age, higher education, or income (p<0.01). The regression results showed that psychological distress predicted more perceived hand deformities 4 years later even after adjusting for demographic and health covariates (p<0.01). The residential areas did not significantly moderate the association between distress and hand deformities. Conclusions: This study suggected that psychological distress may trigger later perception of hand deformities in both urband and rural adults. The findings indicate that stress management interventions that are customizable to regional contexts may be effective at preventing negative body image related health problems of community-dewelling adults.

Objectives : Knowledge about the management status of diabetic melitus (DM) is essential to improve diabetic management. Moreover, low income is associated with poor adherence to treatment and increased mortality. This study was performed to evaluate the management status of DM in low-income patients in a rural area. Methods : We enrolled 370 patients with type 2 DM living in Gokseong county, JeollaNamdo. A well-trained examiner measured the height, weight, waist circumference, blood pressure, total cholesterol, triglyceride, high density lipoprotein cholesterol, fasting blood sugar and glycosylated hemoglobin (HbA1c) levels. Carotid ultrasonography was used to measure carotid artery carotid artery intima media thickness (IMT) and plaque. anklebrachial index (ABI) was used to evaluate peripheral artery disease. A fundoscopic examination was performed to evaluate diabetic retinopathy. A history of diabetes complications and health-related questionnaires were also completed. Results : The age of diabetic subjects was 68.7$\pm$8.7 years and the duration of diabetes was 8.9$\pm$8.2 years. Most (63.5%) had hypertension, and 45.7% had triglycerides below 150 mg/dl, 38.1% had low density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL) cholesterol below 100 mg/dl, 48.7% had urine albumin to creatinine ratio (UACR) below 30 mg/g. Less than half (45.9%) achieved the goal of HbA1c less than 7% suggested by the American Diabetes Association (ADA). 10.6% had peripheral vascular disease, 11.9% had retinopathy, and 60.8% had chronic kidney disease. Conclusions : DM management in low income patients is very poor and requires further work to improve.

The government has run and managed various forms of direct payment systems, such as the paddy and field direct payment, to ease the instability of farm incomes with respect to market opening, and preserve farm income. Direct payments to the agricultural sector is a center in the key policy instrument that plays an important role in income stabilization. Despite the large amount of spending in the farm unit, the status of direct payment, and policy effects the analysis of direct payments, such as stability of income contribution, are insufficient. This paper, using the farm unit DB in 2014 and 2015, performed farm level analysis of direct payment, and derived the implications of the performance evaluation system. As a result, the distribution of direct payment showed considerable bias to the left side compared to the normal distribution curve. Approximately half of the farms (49.3%) in 2014 DB should receive below 100,000 won per year by a direct payment. A larger-scale farm showed a significantly increased income effect and income stabilizing effect because direct payments make higher contributions to farm income in proportional to the area. In the more elderly farmers, a high contribution by direct payment to farm income was found to be an advantage; however, in small-scale farms of less than 0.5ha, direct payment contribution on farm household income was only 3%. In large-scale farms, 10ha or more, the contribution to farm income were found to be 29.4%. The income of large farms was 10 times larger than small farmers, and the direct payment entitlements that were received were 110 times larger. Through this policy, direct payments are required for future improvements and modifications.

Cooked mature silkworms have received increasing attention as a new source of income for sericultural farms. Quality improvement of these worms as the end-product requires prevention of the following: inclusion of unfertilized silkworm eggs, mixing with impurities, producing undercooked or overcooked mature larvae, and mixing spewed silk substance. Preventing unfertilized eggs and impurities and reducing undercooked or overcooked mature larvae can be achieved by sericultural farms. However, the prevention of spewed silk substance requires the development of new techniques. This study developed new techniques for optimum cold storage temperature, soaking, and hydro-thermal treatment to minimize the spewing of mature larvae prior to steaming: when larvae mature after 7 days on the $5^{th}$ instar, they should be soaked in water at room temperature of $25^{\circ}C$ immediately upon collection and stored at $8^{\circ}C$ for less than 3 days. They should be soaked in boiling water for approximately 10 s immediately before steaming to kill the larvae and cooked with steam. This method allows for the production of high-quality mature larvae without spewed silk substance. These new techniques will considerably improve the production of well-cooked quality mature larvae by minimizing silk substance spewed out from the larvae.

In 1960's, Korea had concentrated on economic development, in the meantime the existing problem which is an avoiding rural settlement phenomenon such as a farming population decrease, an unstabel income, poor surroundings, etc. could intensify. And because of an exodus from agricultural area caused by industrialization and a fall of agricultural farm price as a result of domestic agricultural market opening in accordance with FTA, in 2004 Korean government excuted the integrated rural-village development plan as a measure to provide more support for agricultural villages. The integrated rural-village development plan means that inter-connected with villages which have potnetial and developed it as a unit of small-zone, also we can assume it a Down-up development type because residents participate and lead this plan directly. But, this plan made progress rapidly as a countmeasure of government so, it needs to evaluate for completed project area and make an improvement for a sustainable undertaking. Therefore, this study categorized project contents systematically into two parts of Hardware and Software, after that composed of 4 large-parts, 13 mid-parts and 43 small-parts from Inje-Yongdai zone which was designated for an integrated rural-village development plan in 2004. And a result of analysis for project contents priorities by hierarchy analysis method showed the Regional capability reinforcement is selected for the most important project content by 3 stakeholders who are specialists (514pts.), Korea Rural Community Corporation staffs (694pts.), local government officers (688pts.)

The purpose of this study was to compare the health services information need between urban area and rural area in Sooncheon City. For accomplishing this purpose, we selected 1,060 adults randomly, 744 urban residents and 314 rural residents were surveyed from 1st, December to 31st, December in 1999. Compared the difference between two areas by cross tabulation, and chi-square test were used. The results of this study are as follows: 1. There were statistically difference in sociodemographic characteristics between urban residents and rural residents, such as age, education, job, income, and insurance payment(p<0.001). 2. According to the health utilization behavior, types of health facility, satisfaction of medical cost, and satisfaction of medical results were statistically different between the two areas(p<0.001). Also utilization of the health service center, and accessibility were statistically different between urban and rural areas(p<0.001). 3. Experiencing the health service information, type of health service information, methods of information, effectiveness, and satisfaction were statistically different between the two areas(p<0.001). 4. And experience of using computer, and internet and preference of method of health service information were statistically different between urban and rural areas. Therefore, the construction of health information system should be carefully reviewed by community health service centers and they should consider the different residents information needs, and accessibility and convenience of community residents.
In this study, demands of smart technology development were analyzed for rural village communities. Questionnaire items were derived by grasping the current status of information and communication technology. 49 villages in 8 regions were selected and surveys and statistical analysis were conducted. The main results of the study are as follows. First, 92% of community leaders use smartphones, search for information (38%), communicate with the Internet (36%) using smartphones, use KakaoTalk (31%), and Facebook (24%). Second, in the rural and urban exchange activities, promote support information service (51%) and promote method suggestion service (48.5%) showed that the demand for services in promote field was high. It is linked to the creation of economic opportunities. Third, in the income and production activities, demand for distribution services technology (39.3%) was high in the field of production and distribution, and cold chains that help maintain freshness until food, such as meat, fish, and vegetables are delivered to consumers when agricultural products are distributed. The constant temperature control system needs to be actively introduced. Fourth, autonomy activities showed the highest demand for air conditioning and control systems (34.2%) of community building, and the lowest demand for electronic voting (9.4%) and videoconferencing (9.4%) services. Lastly, in the general activity area of the community, the demand for technology of emergency services (37.1%) and health self-diagnosis service (35.4%), which are technologies in the welfare sector, ranked first and second respectively.
