Station blackout (SBO) risk is one of the most significant contributors to nuclear power plant risk. In this paper, the sequence probability formulas derived by the convolution approach are compared with those derived by the conventional event tree/fault tree (ET/FT) approach for the SBO situation in which emergency diesel generators fail to start. The comparison identifies what makes the ET/FT approach more conservative and raises the issue regarding the mission time of a turbine-driven auxiliary feedwater pump (TDP), which suggests a possible modeling improvement in the ET/FT approach. Monte Carlo simulations with up-to-date component reliability data validate the convolution approach. The sequence probability of an alternative alternating current diesel generator (AAC DG) failing to start and the TDP failing to operate owing to battery depletion contributes most to the SBO risk. The probability overestimation of the scenario in which the AAC DG fails to run and the TDP fails to operate owing to battery depletion contributes most to the SBO risk overestimation determined by the ET/FT approach. The modification of the TDP mission time renders the sequence probabilities determined by the ET/FT approach more consistent with those determined by the convolution approach.
We perform static program analysis for the binary code. The reason you want to analyze at the level of binary code, installed on your local computer, run the executable file without source code. And the reason we want to perform static analysis, static program analysis is to understand what actions to perform on your local computer. In this paper, execution flow graph representing information such as the execution order among functions and the flow of control is generated. Using graph, User can find execution flow of binary file and calls of insecure functions at the same time, and the graph should facilitate the analysis of binary files. In addition, program to be run is ensured the safety by providing an automated way to search the flow of execution, and program to be downloaded and installed from outside is determined whether safe before running.
When railway vehicles run by towers of long span bridges, the railway vehicles might experience a sudden load-off and load-on phenomenon in crosswind conditions. To ensure the running safety of the railway vehicles and the running comfort of the passengers, some studies were carried out to investigate the impacts of sudden changes of aerodynamic loads on moving railway vehicles. In the present study, the aerodynamic coefficients which were measured in wind tunnel tests using a moving train model are converted into the aerodynamic coefficients in the actual scale. The three-component aerodynamic loads are calculated based on the aerodynamic coefficients with consideration of the vehicle movement. A three-dimensional railway vehicle model is set up using the multibody dynamic theory, and the aerodynamic loads are treated as the inputs of excitation varied with time for kinetic simulations of the railway vehicle. Thus the dynamic responses of the railway vehicle passing by the bridge tower can be obtained from the kinetic simulations in the time domain. The effects of the mean wind speeds and the rail track positions on the running performance of the railway vehicle are discussed. The three-component aerodynamic loads on the railway vehicle are found to experience significant sudden changes when the vehicle passes by the bridge tower. Correspondingly, such sudden changes of aerodynamic loads have a large impact on the dynamic performance of the running railway vehicle. The dynamic responses of the railway vehicle have great fluctuations and significant sudden changes, which is adverse to the running safety and comfort of the railway vehicle passing by the bridge tower in crosswind conditions.

In this paper, the autonomous mobile robot whit only LRF sensors proposes an algorithm for avoiding moving obstacles in an environment where a global map containing fixed obstacles. First of all, in oder to avoid moving obstacles, moving obstacles are extracted using LRF distance sensor data and a global map. An ellipse-shaped safety radius is created using the sum of relative vector components between the extracted moving obstacles and of the autonomuos mobile robot. Considering the created safety radius, the autonomous mobile robot can avoid moving obstacles and reach the destination. To verify the proposed algorithm, use quantitative analysis methods to compare and analyze with existing algorithms. The analysis method compares the length and run time of the proposed algorithm with the length of the path of the existing algorithm based on the absence of a moving obstacle. The proposed algorithm can be avoided by taking into account the relative speed and direction of the moving obstacle, so both the route and the driving time show higher performance than the existing algorithm.
The derailment is defined as phenomena in which the wheels run off the rail due to inordinate lateral force generated when wheel flange contacts with the rail. Derailment coefficient is typical standard assessing running safety and derailment. The traditional method measuring by strain gage adhered to wheels is very complicated and easy to fail. It also requires too much cost and higher measurement technique. Therefore it can hardly ensure safety because we can't confirm at which time we need to identify safety. In this paper, we principally researched the method measuring easily wheel load generated by contacts between wheel flange and the rail, and lateral force. Correlation of vibration and displacement which was related physical amounts of wheel load and lateral force, was investigated and analyzed through analysis, experiment and measurement. And it is presents new measurement method of derailment coefficient which can estimate derailment possibility only by movement of vibration and displacement, by which we understand the rate for acceleration and displacement to contribute wheel load and lateral force and compare actual data of wheel load and lateral force measured from wheel.
Traffic safety policies have been established and carried out every five years according to the Traffic Safety Act. In addition to policies that are planned and carried out in the long run, there are also policies established to prevent the recurrence of various social issues and accidents. Citizens' participation in administrative affairs has recently seized the spotlight, and has become an efficient means of realizing administrative democracy. Based on big data analysis, this study aims to present how the "Kim Min-sik Case," which recently brought to the fore a social issue of strengthening laws on child school zones, has realized administrative democracy and contributed to legislation due to the emergence of the online platform called "national petition." Policy changes according to the cycle of issues are divided according to time series classification and what contents are devised in each section through text mining analysis. In this regard, the results of this study are expected to provide useful theoretical and practical implications for researchers and policymakers by presenting policy implications that it is important to prepare practical and realistic alternatives in solving policy problems.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the perception of fire safety education in middle and high school teachers. The results of this study provide basic data necessary for future school safety education. The research was carried out using a questionnaire given to 317 school teachers. The frequency of the questionnaire was calculated from frequency analysis using SPSS version 19.0. A chi-square test was conducted to verify the analyzed questionnaire data. Cronbach's alpha for fire safety awareness in the respondents is 0.845, which is very reliable. According to the results of the survey, fire safety education currently conducted in schools is aimed at having a safe lifestyle and respect for life. The training is conducted once every six months, on average, and training time is 30 to 45 minutes. Fire safety education in schools is conducted in the form of experience-oriented education in cooperation with fire-related organizations following the plan of the school. Educational texts are used and utilized through the Internet and in related publications. Under the present circumstances, it is necessary to secure sufficient space to run an experience-related education program and to actively participate in the students' fire safety education at the school.
Explosions inside transportation tunnels might result in failure of tunnel structures. This study investigated the failure mechanisms of circular cast-iron tunnels in saturated soil subjected to medium internal blast loading. This issue is crucial to tunnel safety as many transportation tunnels run through saturated soils. At the same time blast loading on saturated soils may induce residual excess pore pressure, which may result in soil liquefaction. A series of numerical simulations were carried out using Finite Element program LS-DYNA. The effect of soil liquefaction was simulated by the Federal Highway soil model. It was found that the failure modes of tunnel lining were differed with different levels of blast loading. The damage and failure of the tunnel lining was progressive in nature and they occurred mainly during lining vibration when the main event of blast loading was over. Soil liquefaction may lead to more severe failure of tunnel lining. Soil deformation and soil liquefaction were determined by the coupling effects of lining damage, lining vibration, and blast loading. The damage of tunnel lining was a result of internal blast loading as well as dynamic interaction between tunnel lining and saturated soil, and stress concentration induced by a ventilation shaft connected to the tunnel might result in more severe lining damage.
Since a long time ago, many railway engineers analyze and discuss the interface between the sub-system of railway, such as a wheel/rail interface, pantograph/catenary interface etc. The verifying of the system interface could help to achive the optimized performance and safety of the railway system considering that the railway system is constructed by various engineerings, such as civil, mechanical, electrical, etc. A rolling stock with distributed drive system, which will be developed by HEMU-400x project, is capable of running on high speed line and conventional line in Korea. To verify the performance of rolling stock, test run will be done with revenue service line. And the test items of the system interface have to be selected to verify a functional compatibility and physical force between rolling stock and infrastructure. In this paper, the authors will indicates the test items to verify system interface. To achive the conclusion, the authors analyze a specification of the development train and the design value of Seoul-Busan high speed line, which will be used for testing of the development train, and also, study the various case of high speed train commissioning.
Hot smoke test is done in a subway tunnel. Alcohol trays of 1.0 MW and smoke generators are used for generating hot smoke. The fans equipped with the tunnel are successively run 9 min after smoke generation. It is verified how hot smoke is controlled by fans. Velocity and direction of flow, temperature and smoke density are measured and analyzed for smoke control performance of the tunnel with fans and analyzed from the fire-safety-point of view. Velocity of smoke flow is obtained by using measured velocity and temperature at the ceiling of the tunnel. The time when smoke-control flow is builded up is different for the different positions. Velocity distributions at various positions will be used for the boundaries and the comparison data in numerical simulations for evaluation on smoke-control facilities of subway tunnel.
