  • In order to minimize fixing error of workpieces, prismatic and cylindrical types. Modification Rule by Indexing Table and Modification Rule by NC Program are developed for machining centers by using touch trigger probes. The Modification Rule by Indexing Table means the alignment of workpiece to NC program through degree of freedoms of indexing table. The Modification Rule by NC Program is the alignment of NC program to workpiece set-up condition via the generation of NC program. A postprocessing module is also developed for generating NC-part Program (User Macro) to compensate for Machining errors in end milling and boring processes. Developed methods are verified by experiments.

  • In dealing with representing knowledge under uncertainty there is a sustain tendency to increase flexibility in order to avoid problems of inconsistency in the knowledge. Many knowledge systems(information retrieval systems, expert system) include hybrid representation models. Funny retrieval systems appear as a complement or as an enrichment of this models. In this paper, we describe dynamic rule modification through situation assessment for uncertainty management.

  • A new RMFSOC(Reference Model Following Self-Organizing Controller) is proposed. It is composed by adding the reference model and decision rule to the Mamdani's SOC. The reference model is introduced to explicitly specify the control performance. The self-organizing level of the RMFSOC organizes the control rule which makes the process output follow the reference output generated by the reference model. In order to avoid unnecessary control rule modification, a decision rule is also introduced to determine whether the control rule modification is needed or not.

  • The position control of flexible joint manipulator is investigated by applying the self-organizing fuzzy logic controller (SOC) proposed by Procyk and Mamdani. The SOC is a heuristic rule-based controller and a further extension of an ordinary fuzzy controller, which has a hierachy structrue which consists of an algorithm being identical to a fuzzy controller at the lower ollp and a learning algorithm accomodating the performance evalution and rule modification function at the upper ollp. This form of control can be used in those complex systems which have been too difficult to control or which in the past have had to rely on the experience of a human operator. Even though the significant dynamic coupling of the motors and links on the flexible joint manipulator, the performance of command-following is good by applying the proposed SOC.

  • Although $N{\alpha}$-terminal acetylation (Nt-acetylation) is a pervasive protein modification in eukaryotes, its general functions in a majority of proteins are poorly understood. In 2010, it was discovered that Nt-acetylation creates a specific protein degradation signal that is targeted by a new class of the N-end rule proteolytic system, called the Ac/N-end rule pathway. Here, we review recent advances in our understanding of the mechanism and biological functions of the Ac/N-end rule pathway, and its crosstalk with the Arg/N-end rule pathway (the classical N-end rule pathway).

  • Previously developed methods for pitch modification have not been based on the voice source model. Therefore, the synthesized speech often sounds unnatural although it may be highly intelligible. The purpose of this paper is to analyze the alteration of a voice source signal with pitch period and to establish the pitch-modification rule based on the result of this analysis. We examine the alteration of the interval of closing phase, closed phase and open phase using the excitation waveform as the pitch increases. In comparison to the previous methods which performed directly on the speech signal, the pitch modification method based on a voice source model shows high intelligibility and naturalness. This study might benefit the application to the speaker identification and the voice color conversion. Therefore the proposed method will provide high quality synthetic speech.

  • The purpose of this study was to develop pattern and grading method of slacks of adults women of standard somatotype to prove fitness of lower body shape. The results of this study can be summarized as follows: 1. the 4 pattern were compared by the sensory evaluation to choose which one is more appropriate to this research. The slacks pattern developed by modification from L method. 2. The results of the sensory evaluation have down that the new slacks pattern have better fit than the traditional pattern. 3. The standard sized patterns were graded using Moonwha grading rule as a traditional one and the new grading rule. The new grading rule was developed by fitting the slacks which were made by traditional grading rule. 4. The results of the sensory evaluation have down that the slacks made by the new grading rule developed in this work have better fit than the ones made by the traditional grading rule.

  • Korean fortis consonant is not included in the consonantal inventory, but a result of phonetic implementation at the phonetic level, P. With the framework of Cognitive Phonology, a construction of Post Obstruent Tensification is proposed in such a way that rule-ordering is eliminated. This enables us to overcome methodological problems raised in former analyses of fortis under geminate hypothesis, and give a uniform account for three categories of fortis consonants. By assuming extrasyllabicity of verb-stem-final, consonant neutralization of fortis in the coda position is explained by the invisibility at the P-level. and, therefore. modification of Coda Neutralization rule is called for.

  • The capacity design rule for beam-column joints, as adopted by the EC8, forces the formation of the plastic hinges to be developed in beams rather than in columns. This is achieved by deriving the design moments of the columns of a joint from equilibrium conditions, assuming that plastic hinges with their possible overstrengths have been developed in the adjacent beams of the joint. In this equilibrium the parameters (dimensions, material properties, axial forces etc) are, in general, random variables. Hence, the capacity design is associated with a probability of non-compliance (probability of failure). In the present study the probability of non-compliance of the capacity design rule of joints is being calculated by assuming the basic variables as random variables. Parameters affecting this probability are examined and a modification of the capacity design rule for beam-column joints is proposed, in order to achieve uniformity of the safety level.
