의료방사선 차폐 고무시트의 제작과 성능 비교 (Comparison on the Performance Medical Radiation Shielding Made of Rubber Sheet)

  • Main component of radiography barrier aprons is lead. To manufacture a lead-free barrier sheath, barium sulfate and organic iodine-based chemicals should be mixed with rubber. Barrier capacity was tested in the medical field. To improve adaptation of rubber with the mixture, raw materials went through milling, agitation, and extruding processes. Three sheaths were manufactured with 30%, 80%, and 120% sulfate barium, respectively. This study found 10% lower barrier capacity of lead-free barrier than the traditional lead-containing rubber sheath. Problems, however, were confronted during the agitation and extruding processes. Mixing with rubber was a technically demanding job. Inconsistent depth, problems with thermal processing and dissipation were encountered as well.

  • In these days, The base isolation system is often used to improve the seismic capacity of the structures instead of conventional techniques of strengthening the structural members. The purpose of this study is to evaluate dynamic property evaluation of control equipment using lead Lead Rubber Bearing. In this study, a base isolation test of seismic monitoring control cabinet with LRB(lead rubber bearing) was performed. The cabinet will be installed on access floor in MCR(main control room) of nuclear power plant. Details and dynamic characteristics of the access floor were considered in the construction of testing specimen. N-S component of El Centre earthquake was used as seismic input motion. Acceleration response spectrums in the top of cabinets showed that the first mode frequency of cabinet with LRB(lead rubber bearing) was shifted to 7.5 Hz in compared with 18Hz of cabinet without LRB and the maximum peak acceleration was reduced in a degree of22 percent from 2.35 g to 1.84 g

Nonlinear dynamic response and its control of rubber components with piezoelectric patches/layers using finite element method

  • Idea of using piezoelectric materials with flexible structures made of rubber-like materials is quite novel. In this study a non-linear finite element model based on updated Lagrangian (UL) approach has been developed for dynamic response and its control of rubber-elastic material with surface-bonded PVDF patches/layers. A compressible stain energy density function has been used for the modeling of the rubber component. The results obtained are compared with available analytical solutions and other published results in some cases. Some results are reported as new results which will be useful for future references since the number of published results is not sufficient.

Polybutadiene 고무 변성 에폭시 접착제의 물성에 관한 연구 (A Study on Physical Properties of Epoxy Adhesives Modified with Polybutadiene Rubber)

  • Epoxy resin and CTBN(carboxyl terminated butadiene acrylonitrile) rubber were reacted at $150^{\circ}C$. Epoxy mixtures containing reactant in a ratio $0{\sim}75%(wt%)$ of total liquid component were with dicyandiamide(DICY) at $130{\sim}200^{\circ}C$. Cure, thermal and adhesive properties were investigated in relation to rubber content, cure temperature, hardner content and promoter content. $CTBN{\times}13$ showed better properties in miscibility, curing time and adhesive strength. 2PZ-CNS was more excellent in Tg, and melamine was in adhesive strength. Adhesive strength represented best at rubber content $12{\times}15%$.

실험에 의한 방진고무의 동특성에 관한 연구 (An Experimental Study on the Dynamic Characteristics of Rubber Isolator)

  • 우수한 신장성과 탄성복원 능력으로 여러 산업분야에 방진, 제진, 충격흡수 및 완충재료로 널리 사용되고 있는 고무재료에 대하여 주파수, 변형률 진폭 및 온도변화가 동특성에 미치는 영향을 실험을 통하여 검토하였다. 동특성 시험은 5종류의 경도에 대하여 인장.압축시험과 전단시험용의 천연고무 시험 편으로 비 공진법으로 수행하였다. 시험결과, 경도가 높을수록 동적 특성 값들이 크게 나타났으며 저장탄성계수와 손실계수는 주파수가 증가할수록 서서히 증가하였으며 변형률 진폭이 커질수록 감소하였다. 또한, 온도 특성을 $-50^{\circ}C$ 영역에서 저장탄성계수가 급격히 상승하며 손실계수가 최대로 나타나는 전이역임을 알 수 있었다.

  • 청정실(Clean room)에 사용되는 환기팬용 모터의 방진고무부품의 수명을 예측하기 위해서 가속 열 노화 시험을 수행하였다. 방진고무부품은 EPDM으로 만들었다. 노화 수명을 판단하기 위한 한계점을 20%의 압축 영구 줄음률로 하여 절대 온도의 역수 값으로 아레니우스 선도를 유도하였다. 아레니우스 관계식으로부터 방진고무부품의 다양한 온도에서의 수명과 활성화에너지를 구하였다. 그리고 수명을 판단하는데 있어 상당한 시간을 대체할 수 있는 가속 시험법을 설계하였다. 또한 방진고무부품에 첨가되는 노화 방지제가 수명에 미치는 영향을 알아보았다.

  • 고무부품의 신뢰성을 확보하기 위해서는 피로수명예측 및 평가기술 개발이 중요하다 하겠다. 최근에 고무부품에 대한 고성능, 고신뢰성을 위해 설계, 해석 및 평가기술이 요구되고 있으나, 지금까지는 경험과 시행착오적인 방법으로 개발되고 있는 실정이다. 따라서, 본 연구에서는 고무소재에 대해 배합조건, 기계적 특성, 열화 및 피로수명 등을 포함하는 고무소재 물성 데이터베이스를 구축하고, 고무부품의 특성해석 결과를 데이터베이스와 연계하여 고무부품의 피로해석 모델을 개발하였으며, 실제 피로시험 결과를 통하여 개발된 모델의 타당성을 검증하였다.

유한요소해석을 이용한 자동차 그로멧의 거동에 대한 연구 (A Study on the Behavior for Automotive Grommet by Using FEA)

  • Automotive industries are interested in material development with low weight and recycling. Grommet is made from EPDM at rubber and used as an automotive component. The nonlinear material properties of rubber are important to predict the behaviors of rubber product. This study concerns material property test to achieve stress-strain curve. Curve fitting is carried out to obtain the nonlinear material constant. The nonlinear material constants of rubber are used for the nonlinear finite element analysis. The results of finite element analysis is executed to predict the behavior property of grommet.

  • 고무탄성체가 연료와 접촉하면 저분자량의 고무성분이나 첨가제 등이 연료에 의해 용출되면서 고무의 물성을 변화시키고 연료의 물성에도 영향을 미치게 된다. 본 연구에서는 고무탄성체 중 밀봉재로 사용되는 고무 오링이 연료와 장기간 접촉하고 있을 때 고무 오링의 수명을 예측하기 위해 접촉 연료의 부피와 온도, 저장시간에 따라 고무 오링의 물성치로 무게, 부피, 두께, 경도, 인장강도, 신장율 및 영구압축줄음율 측정하여 변화정도를 측정하였다. 또한 연료의 GC분석을 통해 순도변화를 분석하고 총발열량을 측정하여 고무 접촉에 의한 연료의 열화정도를 측정하였다. 이러한 측정결과는 수명을 예측하기 위한 기본 자료로 사용할 예정이다.

Application of machine learning methods for predicting the mechanical properties of rubbercrete

  • The use of waste rubber in concrete can reduce natural aggregate consumption and improve some technical properties of concrete. Although there are several equations for estimating the mechanical properties of concrete containing waste rubber, limited numbers of machine learning-based models have been proposed to predict the mechanical properties of rubbercrete. In this study, an extensive database of the mechanical properties of rubbercrete was gathered from a comprehensive survey of the literature. To model the mechanical properties of rubbercrete, M5P tree and linear gene expression programming (LGEP) methods as two machine learning techniques were employed to achieve reliable mathematical equations. Two procedures of input variable selection were considered in this study. The crucial component ratios of rubbercrete and concrete age were assumed as the input variables in the first procedure. In contrast, the volumes of the coarse and fine waste rubber and the compressive strength of concrete without waste rubber were considered the second procedure of the input variables. The results show that the models obtained by LGEP are more accurate than those achieved by the M5P model tree and existing traditional equations. Besides, the volumes of the coarse and fine waste rubber and the compressive strength of concrete without waste rubber are better predictors of the mechanical properties of rubbercrete compared to the first procedure of input variable selection.
