As the result of the study shows, Round Robin Algorithm allows servers to ensure definite traffic distribution, unless incoming data loads differ much. Although error levels are high in some cases, they were eventually alleviated by repeated tests for a long period of time. The study uses two software packages (Packet Capture and Round Robin Test Package) to check packet volume from Virtual Network Structure (data generator, virtual server, Server 1, 2, 3), and finds out traffic distribution toward Server 1, 2, and 3. The functions of implemented Round Robin Load Balancing Monitoring System include round robin testing, system monitoring, and graphical indication of data transmission and packet volume.
The scheduling algorithms to provide quality of service (QoS) in broadband convergence network (BcN) are compared and analysed. The main QoS management methods such as traffic classification, traffic processing in the input queue and weighted queueing are first analysed, and then the major scheduling algorithms of round robin, priority and weighted round robin under recently considering for BcN to supply real time multimedia communications are analysed. The simulation results by NS-2 show that the scheduling algorithm with proper weights for each traffic class outperforms the priority algorithm.
The IEEE 802.16 standard is supposed to provide a wide-range broadband wireless service, but it leaves the implementation of the wireless resource scheduler as an open issue. We have studied the scheduling problem and propose a two level scheduling (TLS) scheme with support for quality of service and fairness guarantees for downlink traffic in a WiMAX network. A central controller Base Station has a number of users, and each mobile subscriber station has different channel conditions. The same mobile subscriber station may have different service requirements at different times in the WiMAX network. Based on OPNET simulation, the results show our scheduling algorithm can increase the network throughput, maintain relative fairness, and lower delay over the round robin and weighted round robin algorithms.

In this letter, we design a collision resolution protocol for optical burst switching ring networks to avoid burst collision. We define the offset time condition for no burst transmission collision and manage the free time list of nodes for no burst reception collision. In order to improve the throughput, we use a fiber delay line, void-filling, and void-compression. This protocol does not require any additional procedures for bandwidth reservation such as centralized assignment of bandwidth, lightpath setup of WDM ring networks, or token capturing for the burst transmission. The simulation results show that the proposed protocol can achieve high throughput while saving 70% of wavelengths when compared to round robin with random selection, round robin with persistent, and round robin with non-persistent with only destination delay.

Virtualization technologies are being adopted and broadly utilized in many fields and at different levels. In cloud computing, achieving load balancing across large distributed virtual machines is considered a complex optimization problem with an essential importance in cloud computing systems and data centers as the overloading or underloading of tasks on VMs may cause multiple issues in the cloud system like longer execution time, machine failure, high power consumption, etc. Therefore, load balancing mechanism is an important aspect in cloud computing that assist in overcoming different performance issues. In this research, we propose a new approach that combines the advantages of different task allocation algorithms like Round robin algorithm, and Random allocation with different threshold techniques like the VM utilization and the number of allocation counts using least connection mechanism. We performed extensive simulations and experiments that augment different scheduling policies to overcome the resource utilization problem without compromising other performance measures like makespan and execution time of the tasks. The proposed system provided better results compared to the original round robin as it takes into consideration the dynamic state of the system.

There have been numerous researches regarding the QoS guarantee in packet switching networks. IntServs, based on a signaling mechanism and scheduling algorithms, suggesting promising solutions, yet has the crucial complexity problem so that not enough real implementations has been witnessed. Flow aggregation is suggested recently to overcome this issue. In order to aggregated flows fairly so that the latency of the aggregated flows is bound, however, a non-work conserving scheduler is necessary, which is not very popular because of its another inherent complexity. We suggest a non-work conserving scheduler, the Round Robin with Virtual Flow (RRVF), which is a variation of the popular Deficit Round Robin (DRR). We study the latency of the RRVF, and observe that the non-work conserving nature of the RRVF yields a slight disadvantage in terms of the latency, but after the aggregation the latency is greatly reduced, so that e combined latency is reduced. We conclude that the flow aggregation through RRVF can actually reduce the complexity of the bandwidth allocation as well as the overall latency within a network.

The rapid growth and increasing complexity of modern networks have highlighted the limitations of traditional network architectures. The emergence of SDN (Software-Defined Network) in response to these challenges has changed the existing network environment. The SDN separates the control unit and the data unit, and adjusts the network operation using a centralized controller. However, this structure has also recently caused a huge amount of traffic due to the rapid spread of numerous Internet of Things (IoT) devices, which has not only slowed the transmission speed of the network but also made it difficult to ensure quality of service (QoS). Therefore, this paper proposes a method of load distribution by switching the IP and any server (processor) from the existing data processing scheduling technique, RR (Round-Robin), to mapping when a large amount of data flows in from a specific IP, that is, server overload and data loss.

The success of naval operation prioritizes the implementation of a robust communication network that delivers accurate and prompt communications to one another. The satellite, which is the main communication network of the military, is required to construct a preliminary communication network because of the enemy radio disturbance and weak point of fixed antenna. The military operational communication network has been in transition from voice-centered wireless communication network to text message-based communication network. In this paper we suggest an enhanced communication method built on Roll Call, the main communication method of ROK Navy operating tactical data link called Link-11. Simulation results display that the proposed method reduces the transmission time per unit frame by 4.3 times compared to the Roll Call and 6.3 times compared with the Round Robin & Broadcasting; it is also proved that the higher the direct reception rate, the shorter the transmission time required by 1.6 times maximum.
