Sensorless Vector Control for High performance Drive of IPMSM (IPMSM의 고성능 드라이브를 위한센서리스 벡터제어)

  • This paper is proposed to position and speed control of interior permanent magnet synchronous motor(IPMSM) drive without mechanical sensor. The rotor position, which is an essential component of any vector control schemes, is calculated through the instantaneous stator flux position and an estimated flux value of rotating reference frame. A closed-loop state observer is implemented to compute the speed feedback signal. The validity of the proposed sensorless scheme is confirmed by simulation and its dynamic performance is examined in detail.

  • Indirect sensing of the rotor position of permanent magnet brushless DC motors contains position error. Such measuring error can be attenuated by adopting Kalman filter. In this paper, the cause of measuring error is analyzed and the design technique of Kalman filter is described. Experimental results show that the proposed sensorless drive exerts superior performances.

  • In this paper, SRM is designed and analyzed for EPS(Electrically Power Steering) application. EPS of vehicles plays a role that reduce driver's handle control power. For the proper design, FEM analysis is implemented according to the rotor structure. Designed motor is simulated with both FEM and magnetic circuit analysis, Effectiveness of the suggested SRM drive for EPS application is verified by the manufactured prototype motor drive tests.

  • A novel control strategy for the induction motor drive, based on the field acceleration method, is presented. The torque is controlled through variations of the stator flux angular velocity. The stator flux is controlled by using a feed forward control scheme, with the stator flux reference vector adjusted so as to obtain the fixed rotor flux amplitude.

  • This paper is proposed a ANN-based rotor position and speed estimation method for IPMSM by measuring the currents. Because the proposed estimator treats the estimated motor speed as the weights, it is possible to estimate motor speed to adapt back propagation algorithm with 2 layered neural network. The proposed control algorithm is applied to IPMSM drive system. The operating characteristics controlled by neural networks are examined in detail.

  • This paper presents a developing algorithm of checking errors of feed mechanism in the NC machine tool with DAC method. It is useful to check static and dynamic rigidity with relation between lost motion and current of rotor. For checking error of feed in assembly tuning with machining center proposed checking algorithm is useful.

  • This paper presents a high efficiency direct instantaneous torque control (DITC) of Switched Reluctance Motor(SRM) based on the nonlinear model. The DITC method can reduce the high inherent torque ripple of SRM drive system, but drive efficiency is somewhat low due to the high current and switching loss during commutations. In order to reduce a torque ripple, a fast torque reference trajectory is selected at every instantaneous rotor position. Based on the nonlinear model of SRM, the developing torque by one phase is fixed and the other phase is regulated for minimum switchings of phase switch and variation of torque. The switching during commutation can be reduced and fast commutation can be obtained in the proposed method. As a result, drive efficiency could be improved as well as torque ripple reduction. The validity of proposed method is verified by computer simulations and comparative experiments.

Permanent magnet gearless traction drive for German high speed train ICE 3

  • Two different designs of permanent magnet motors as direct wheel-set drive for the German high speed train ICE 3 are designed, one with surface mounted magnets (SM) and one with buried rotor magnets (BM). The surface magnet motor has $17\%$ less mass and a slightly higher efficiency and was therefore chosen for further investigations. Compared with the conventional drive system of the ICE 3, consisting of geared inverter fed induction machines, the gearless permanent magnet direct drive yields about $16\%$ lower losses. This calculation is based on the route parameters of the high speed track between Frankfurt/Main and Cologne in Germany, which is currently under construction.

  • In this paper we proposed a new sensorless drive system for the trapezoidal type brushless DC motor which does not use any mechanical position or speed sensor and applicable to the systems requiring a constant speed and torque such as Fan. For this a novel indirect rotor position sensing technique based on a detailed analysis of the terminal voltage characteristics is proposed in this paper. And a sensorless drive system for the brushless DC motor is implemented using a 87c196mc fo the main microprocessor and a power FET for the inverter. The experimental results will show the validity of the proposed indirect sensing method and the practical use of the sensorless drive

  • The paper is proposed high performance control of induction motor drive with adaptive fuzzy logic controller(AFLC). Also, this paper is proposed speed control of induction motor using AFLC and estimation of speed using artificial neural network(ANN) controller. The back propagation neural network technique is used to provide a real time adaptive estimation of the motor speed. The error between the desired state variable and the actual one is back-propagated to adjust the rotor speed, so that the actual state variable will coincide with the desired one. The proposed control algorithm is applied to induction motor drive system controlled AFLC and ANN controller. And this paper is proposed the results to verify the effectiveness of the AFLC and ANN controller.
