  • In-plane ESPI(Electronic Speckle Patten Interferometry)was devised to measure in~plane defamation and rotation of a specimen with laser in this study. The conventional measuring methods of surface deformations such as the strain gauge have many demerits because they are contact and point-to-point measuring ones. But that ESPI is noncontact, nondestructive and whole field measuring method can overcome previous disadvantages. We used ESPI which is sensitive to in-plane displacement for measuring in-plane deformations of a disk. First of all, the system calibration was done due to an in-plane rotation before getting deformations of a disk. Finally we showed good agreement between theexperiment results and those of the FEA(Finit Element Analysis).

  • In this study, a series of two-dimensional model test and numerical analysis was carried out to investigate the pile movement due to tunnelling in soft ground. The model test consists of 21 cases according to locations of the pile tip over the centre position of model tunnel. To identify both the pile and ground movements a close-range photogrammetric technique was adopted in the model test. The results from the model test were compared to the two-dimensional finite element analysis using the CRISP program. It was found that the rotation point on the pile was significantly affected by factors such as the offset distance from the model tunnel and the volume loss that occurred during the tunnelling operation.

ESPI is a optical measuring method to be able to measure the deformations of engineering components and materials in industrial fields. The conventional measuring methods of surface deformations such as the strain gauge have many demerits because they are contact and point-to-point measuring ones. But that ESPI is noncontact, nondestructive and whole field measuring method can overcome previous disadvantages. We used ESPI which is sensitive to in-plane displacement for measuring in-plane deformations of a disk. And the 4-frame phase shifting method was used for the quantitative analysis. First of all, the system calibration was done due to an in-plane rotation before getting deformations of a disk. Finally we showed good agreement between the experiment results and those of the FEA(Finite Element Analysis).

  • Curing reaction was carried out with the acrylic resin (ACR) [n-butyl acrylate/atyrene/2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate/acetoacetoxyethyl methacrylate (AAEM)] synthesized before and a curing agent, hexamethoxymethylmelamine (HMMM). With rotational rheometer, the effect of catalysts on curing rate of acrylic resin/melamine was examined. Among the four catalysts used, p-toluene sulfonic acid showed the highest reactivity, and the optimum amount of catalyst was 0.5 phr. It was observed that in the ACR/HMMM curing reaction, gelation point was lowered with the increasing the amount of AAEM and HMMM in the ACR.

CUDA를 이용한 고속 영상 회전 알고리즘에 관한 연구 (A Study on High Speed Image Rotation Algorithm using CUDA)

  • 영상 회전은 영상 처리나 영상 패턴 인식에서 중요한 전처리 방법 중 하나이다. 영상 회전은 회전 행렬의 곱으로 이루어 진다. 그러나 기존의 방법은 대량의 실수 연산과 삼각 함수 계산을 필요로 하므로 수행 시간이 오래 걸린다. 본 논문에서는 이 같은 두가지 주요 지체 연산과정을 제거한 새로운 고속 영상 회전 알고리즘을 제안한다. 제안된 알고리즘은 단지 2개의 전단 연산을 행하므로 매우 빠르다. 또한 최신 병렬 처리 기술인 CUDA를 적용한다. CUDA는 최근 널리 보급된 GPU를 이용한 대용량 병렬처리 계산 아키텍쳐이다. GPGPU는 그래픽 전용프로세서이므로 화소 단위의 병렬처리에 탁월한 성능을 보인다. 제안된 알고리즘은 기존의 회전 알고리즘과 다양한 크기의 영상에 대해 비교 실험한다. 실험 결과는 제안된 알고리즘이 기존의 방법보다 8배 이상의 매우 우수한 성능을 보인다.

유방암 절제술 후 환자의 어깨관절 가동범위 조사 (Shoulder Range of Motion in Postmastectomy Patients)

  • The purpose of this study was to use as a basic data to develop suitable nursing intervention program and decide an appropriate intervention time after assessing shoulder range of motion in postmastectomy from 2 weeks to 3 month. 147 patients are chosen as study subject among patients who were in recovery of 2weeks, 1month, 2months and 3 months after surgical operation which is modified radical mastectomy. Data were collected at oncology medicine local and general surgery local in Seoul National University Hospital from May, 2003 to October, 2003. The range of motion of the shoulder(flexion, extension, abduction, internal rotation, external rotation) were examined. Analysis of data that shoulder range of motion average and standard deviation, percentage of the unaffected side and affected side compare with normal shoulder range of motion. Paired t-test was adopted to analyze the difference between affected side and unaffected side. Conclusion from this study is as following, 1. The most serious problem was external rotation (0.56%) and internal rotation is the next (19.9%) in 5 kinds of shoulder range of motion in 2 weeks after surgical operation 2. There was no difference in internal rotation after post operation 3 months but there were differences and shown to recover more than 90% in flexion and abduction. Also shoulder function incresed in flextion less than 80% and more than 80% in external rotation. As this study finding was shown that shoulder range of motion did not get back perfectly except of internal rotation and extension in point of 3 months after breast cancer surgical operation. External rotation was specially shown the lowest result so it is needed to exercise for improving their physical functioning recovery in postmastectomy patients. And it is suggested to study for helping to postmastectomy patients' physical and psycosocial functions with the early rehabilitation program which is based on these results.

RMF을 이용한 계층적 B-spline 곡선의 다단계 편집기법 (Multilevel Editing for Hierarchical B-spline Curves using Rotation Minimizing Frames)

  • 본 논문에서는 계층적 B-spline곡선 (hierarchical B-spline curve)에 대한 새로운 다단계 편집 (multilevel editing)기법을 제안한다. 각 단계 변위함수 (displacement function)의 제어점 (control point)은 이전 단계 곡선위의 노드점 (nodal point)에서 계산되는 Rotation Minimizing Frame (RMF) [1]을 기준으로 표현된다. 이전 단계에서 곡선의 형상이 편집되면 해당노드 점에서 새로운 RMF가 계산되고, 현재 단계에서 변위함수의 제어점들은 새로운 RMF를 기준으로 적용되어, 현재 단계의 곡선은 이전 단계의 곡선에 대한 상대적인 세부 형상을 유지하게 된다. 본 논문에서는 다양한 형태의 곡선에 대한 다단계 편집실험을 통해 제안된 기법의 효율성과 안정성을 입증한다.

모바일 3D 그래픽 프로세서의 지오메트리 연산을 위한 부동 소수점 연산기 구현 (A design of Floating Point Arithmetic Unit for Geometry Operation of Mobile 3D Graphic Processor)

  • We propose floating point arithmetic units for geometry operation of mobile 3D graphic processor. The proposed arithmetic units conform to the single precision format of IEEE standard 754-1985 that is a standard of floating point arithmetic. The rounding algorithm applies the nearest toward zero form. The proposed adder/subtraction unit and multiplier have one clock cycle latency, and the inversion unit has three clock cycle latency. We estimate the required numbers of arithmetic operation for Viewing transformation. The first stage of geometry operation is composed with translation, rotation and scaling operation. The translation operation requires three addition and the rotation operation needs three addition and six multiplication. The scaling operation requires three multiplication. The viewing transformation is performed in 15 clock cycles. If the adder and the multiplier have their own in/out ports, the viewing transformation can be done in 9 clock cycles. The error margin of proposed arithmetic units is smaller than $10^{-5}$ that is the request in the OpenGL standard. The proposed arithmetic units carry out operations in 100MHz clock frequency.

  • This report deals with a feeding system of the Coaxal grinding machine, processing optical ferrule. This report also examines the applicability of using the feeding system for the Coaxial grinding machine, by mean of conducting performance estimation. The results are as follow; Repeatability of regulating wheel is $17{\mu}m$, R/W rotation accuracy is between $30\;\~\;40{\mu}m$. This means 'Rotation accuracy' is lower than the concentricity level. Backlash generation level at the feeding system of the grinding wheel is under $1{\mu}m$, thereby positioning accuracy is controlled within $2{\mu}m$ In terms of repeatability, you can find occasional error at the returning process from the starting point. This error is resulted from the measurement tolerance of the starting point sensor. We will get the repeatability level under control by $1{\mu}m$, through improving the soft-ware used and up-grading the sensor at the starting point.

  • We use camera to apply human vision system in measurement. To do that, we need to know about camera parameters. The camera parameters are consisted of internal parameters and external parameters. we can fix scale factor&focal length in internal parameters, we can acquire external parameters. And we want to use these parameters in automatically driven vehicle by using camera. When we observe an camera parameters in respect with that the external parameters are important parameters. We can acquire external parameter as fixing focal length&scale factor. To get lane coordinate in image, we propose a lane detection filter. After searching lanes, we can seek vanishing point. And then y-axis seek y-sxis rotation component(${\beta}$). By using these parameter, we can find x-axis translation component(Xo). Before we make stepping motor rotate to be y-axis rotation component(${\beta}$), '0', we estimate image coordinates of lane at (t+1). Using this point, we apply this system to Kalman filter. And then we calculate to new parameters whick make minimum error.
