Purpose: This study aimed to broaden our understanding of the predisposing factor and treatment of dislocation by analyzing and evaluating the morphology of the articular eminence (AE) in subjects with temporomandibular joint (TMJ) dislocation using cone beam computed tomography (CBCT). Methods: The subjects were divided into two groups: dislocation (31 subjects) and control (32 subjects). CBCT was used to examine 126 TMJs in 63 subjects (26 males, 37 females). The height, width, and posterior slope of the AE were measured in the parasagittal plane. The posterior slope was measured using the "top-roof line angle (TR angle)" method and the "best-fit line angle (BF angle)" method. The AE on the left side (AEL) and the AE on the right side (AER) of the subjects in the dislocation group were separately analyzed and compared with the control group after taking measurements. The average value of both sides was used when comparing with subjects with bilateral dislocation. Results: Dislocations were more frequent in females (67.7%) than in males (32.3%). The dislocation group showed a gentler TR angle than the control group in the AER and in the average of AE on the both sides (AEB). The same group also showed a wider AE in the AEL and the AER (p<0.05). In subjects with unilateral dislocation, the width of the AE with dislocation was narrower and the TR angle and BF angle was steeper than the other side without dislocation (p<0.05). Conclusions: In subjects with unilateral TMJ dislocation, the posterior slope of the AE is steeper, and the width is narrower at the site of dislocation compared to the site without dislocation. However, in subjects with bilateral TMJ dislocation, AEB were wider, and the mean value of the posterior slope of AEB was gentler than that of the control group.
Influenced by the alternating effects of dynamic and static pressure during the mining process of close range coal seams, the surrounding rock support of cross mining roadway is difficult and the deformation mechanism is complex, which has become an important problem affecting the safe and efficient production of coal mines. The paper takes the inclined longwall mining of the 10304 working face of Zhongheng coal mine as the engineering background, analyzes the key strata fracture mechanism of the large inclined right-angle trapezoidal mining field, explores the stress distribution characteristics and transmission law of the surrounding rock of the roadway affected by the mining of the inclined coal seam, and proposes a segmented and hierarchical support method for the cross mining roadway affected by the mining of the close range coal seam group. The research results indicate that based on the derived expressions for shear and tensile fracture of key strata, the ultimate pushing distance and ultimate suspended area of a right angle trapezoidal mining area can be calculated and obtained. Within the cross mining section, along the horizontal direction of the coal wall of the working face, the peak shear stress is located near the middle of the boundary. The cracks on the floor of the cross mining roadway gradually develop in an elliptical funnel shape from the shallow to the deep. The dual coupling support system composed of active anchor rod support and passive U-shaped steel shed support proposed in this article achieves effective control of the stability of cross mining roadways, which achieves effective control of floor by coupling active support and preventive passive support to improve the strength of the surrounding rock itself. The research results are of great significance for guiding the layout, support control, and safe mining of cross mining roadways, and to some extent, can further enrich and improve the relevant theories of roof movement and control.
Impervious covers(IC) are artificial structures, such as driveways, sidewalks, building's roofs, and parking lots, through which water cannot infiltrate into the soil. IC is an environmental concern because the pavement materials seal the soil surface, decreasing rainwater infiltration and natural groundwater recharge, and consequently disturb the hydrological cycle in a watershed. Increase of IC in a watershed can cause more frequent flooding, higher flood peaks, groundwater drawdown, dry river, and decline of water quality and ecosystem health. There has been an increased public interest in the institutional adoption of LID(Low Impact Development) and GI(Green Infrastructure) techniques to address the adverse impact of IC. The objectives of this study were to construct the modeling site for a samll urban watershed with the Storm Water Management Model(SWMM), and to evaluate the effect of various LID techniques on the control of rainfall runoff processes and non-point pollutant load. The model was calibrated and validated using the field data collected during two flood events on July 17 and August 11, 2009, respectively, and applied to a complex area, where is consist of apartments, school, roads, park, etc. The LID techniques applied to the impervious area were decentralized rainwater management measures such as pervious cover and green roof. The results showed that the increase of perviousness land cover through LID applications decreases the runoff volume and pollutants loading during flood events. In particular, applications of pervious pavement for parking lots and sidewalk, green roof, and their combinations reduced the total volume of runoff by 15~61 % and non-point pollutant loads by TSS 22~72 %, BOD 23~71 %, COD 22~71 %, TN 15~79 %, TP 9~64 % in the study site.
Fuzzy control is widely used for improving temperature control performance as controlling ventilation in greenhouse because the technique can respond more flexibly to the outside air temperature and wind speed. By pre-studied PID and normal fuzzy control this study was performed to obtain the fundamental data that can be established in better greenhouse ventilation control method. The temperature control error by the simple fuzzy control was $1.2^{\circ}C$. The accumulated operating size of the window and the number of operating were 84% and 13, respectively. These showed equivalent control performance with pre-studied result that control error. The accumulated operating size of the window and the number of operating were 75% and 12, respectively. The proposed fuzzy technique was simple control logic method compared with step and PID control methods, but it showed equivalent performance. Therefore, the proposed simple fuzzy control method could be used in micro controller of small programmable memory size and many applications.
After loss of tooth, initial healing process is critical to preserve residual alveolar process. This study was conducted to compare the effect of hydroxylapatite particle synthetic graft and guided tissue regeneration procedure on healing of extraction wounds in 5 mongrel dogs. To investigate the maturity of bone and velocity of bone heating, bone-labeled tracers were used. After 16 weeks healing period, dogs were sacrificed. The specimens were treated with Villanueva bone stain. Fluorescence microscopy and polarized microscopy were performed to exam the pattern of bone formation in the extraction socket. The results were following ; 1. Pattern of bone regeneration in the group of hydroxylapatie graft and the group of membrane protection after hydroxylapatite graft was following ; bone regeneration was slow, regenerated bone was immature, and thickness of cortical layer was thin compare to that of untreated control group. 2. Cortical layers in membrane protected group were somewhat thicker but less condense to that of untreated control group. 3. Infiltration of inflammation cells were found in the groups using hydroxylapatite graft and membrane. We concluded that grafting of replamineform hydroxylapatite particles into the extraction socket delayed healing of the wound and disturbed the formation of cortical bone at the roof of extraction socket. The placement of expanded polytetrafluoroethylene membranes on the extraction socket promotes the bone regeneration. But newly formed bone in cortical layer consists of the cortico-cancellous bone in comparison with the cortical bone of the control group.
Purpose: The objective of this study is to prevent postoperative lower eyelid retraction and scleral show. There are several approaches for orbital rim reconstruction. But these techniques are sometimes difficult to perform, and have some merits and faults. Maybe most common unwanted and unpleasant result that we have experienced by subciliary incision preseptal approach is the lower eyelid retraction and the scleral show. Therefore, I want to find out the causes and the solutions for such complication. We must know the mechanics for those unpleasant result first of all. Methods: We conducted a comparison of postoperative photographs between retroseptal approach group and preseptal approach group, both with subciliary incision. In experimental retroseptal group, incision was applied at subciliary region. After elevating skin flap to preserve pretarsal muscle, not with muscle flap elevation, but direct oblique incision through the muscle, retroseptal dissection was applied to the ROOF and the septum. Fixating fracture line, periosteal and septal repair was followed by skin repair. The light compressive dressings and protection were kept in place for 7 days. The effectiveness of this operative method was made comparison with control group which the preseptal approach was applied to, by postoperative 2nd week and 2nd month. Results: Author's technique had been used in 20 patients and control group was composed of 50 patients over 19months period. There were better results in experimental group than in control group and all of experimental group had no complaint about the lower eyelid retraction and the scleral show. Conclusion: It must be known about the reason of the lower eyelid retraction and the scleral show induced by subciliary and preseptal approach. Mechanically it can be easily proved. And the solution maybe will be easier if we get more information about the mechanics. I recommend the retroseptal subciliary approach

Attention has increasingly focused on the pollutant load discharged from rural area since the enforcement of total maximum daily loads (TMDLs) in korea. As one of the methods to control the inflow of pollutant load during wet weather events, local governments are attempting to apply non-point source control facility. To design those facilities appropriately, it is essential to understand the runoff characteristics of pollutants such as TSS, $BOD_5$, $COD_{Cr}$, TP and TN. In the paper, the quantitative analyses for pollutant runoff characteristics were examined in a small rural watershed with the area of about 53 hectares. For a dry weather day and wet weather events, variation patterns of dry weather flow and runoff characteristics of wet weather flows were monitored and investigated. The runoff model using XP-SWMM reflecting the landuse types of the watershed in detail was simulated to perform the sensitivity analyses for several factors influencing on their hydrograph and pollutographs. As a result, for the case of medium and small rainfall events (i. e. total rainfall of 35.8 and 17.5 mm), the impervious area including green house, roof and road which covers relatively low portion of total area (i. e. 16%) caused substantial first flush and the majority of total runoff load. Therefore, it has been concluded that the runoff characteristics of each pollutant and distribution of impervious area should be considered for the establishment of the control strategy of non-point pollutant runoff at a rural area.
In this study, we quantitatively compare the cooling effects of single span plastic greenhouses by opening or shutting of toot and side vents, and operation of fan or sprinkler. With those variables, we simultaneously made experiments at 4 greenhouses under equivalent conditions. By the experiments, the shutting of roof and side vents caused the high temperature difference of indoor and outdoor which the crops cannot be cultivated. However, the opening of the windows effectively reduced the indoor temperature and showed uniform temperature distribution in the greenhouses. The sprinkler abruptly reduced the indoor temperature, and showed excellent cooling effects. Finally, this paper provides the fundamental data for environmental control in greenhouses.

The study of the mining effect influenced by a normal fault has great significance concerning the prediction and prevention of fault rock burst. According to the occurrence condition of a normal fault, the stress evolution of the working face and fault plane, the movement characteristics of overlying strata, and the law of fault slipping when the working face advances from footwall to hanging wall are studied utilizing UDEC numerical simulation. Then the inducing-mechanism of fault rock burst is revealed. Results show that in pre-mining, the in situ stress distribution of two fault walls in the fault-affected zone is notably different. When the working face mines in the footwall, the abutment stress distributes in a "double peak" pattern. The ratio of shear stress to normal stress and the fault slipping have the obvious spatial and temporal characteristics because they vary gradually from the higher layer to the lower one orderly. The variation of roof subsidence is in S-shape which includes slow deformation, violent slipping, deformation induced by the hanging wall strata rotation, and movement stability. The simulation results are verified via several engineering cases of fault rock burst. Moreover, it can provide a reference for prevention and control of rock burst in a fault-affected zone under similar conditions.
Grain losses due to rodents are annually estimated to be about twenty percent of the whole grain production in Korea. The brown rat (Rattus norvegicus), the roof rat (Rattus rattus), the house mouse (Mus musculas) and the striped fold mouse (Apodemus agrarius) are primary species among eleven species found in the country. Rodent control has been conducted by the government since 1962. As for the poison. anticoagulant was used at first, but no satisfactory results were obtained due to limited funds, Since 1970, zinc phosphide has been introduced for the national campaign, but the degree of efficiency have been decreased year by year becaue of increased poison shyness. In order to overcome this problem, the author has improved 2inc phosphide effectiveness by the microcapsuling method with paraffin wax which increase intake of poison by masking the taste and delaying the onset of symptom. This method can be used efficiently for national campaign in future. However, more attention to this problem, more resarch, training and funding are required for the development of rodent control in Korea.
