  • A diagnosis system that provides early warnings regarding machine malfunction is very important for rolling mill so as to avoid great losses resulting from unexpected shutdown of the production line. But it is very difficult to provide early warnings in rolling mill. Because dynamics of rolling mill is non-linear. This paper proposes a new method for diagnosis of rolling mill using wavelet to solve this problem. Proposed method that measures the vibration signals of rolling mill on-line and analyze it using wavelet to acquire pattern datas. And we design a nero-fuzzy model that diagnose a rolling mill using this data. Validity of the new method is asserted by numerical simulation.

  • Work roll wear in the cold rolling of mild steel strip is strongly affected by rolling materials, rolling conditions such as roll arrangement in the cold rolling mill and lubrication. The tests were performed to find the effects of roll arrangement n the cold rolling mill on the work roll wear under the same lubricating conditions. The obtained results are as follows:If the distance of cold rolling is about 60km, the surface roughness of its was reduced by half(Ra 0.49${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$) and Pc(peak count) also was decreased to 60 ea/cm.It is easier for CC(Continuous casting) to make a slip on rolling than IC(Ingot casting). It is due to surface mirror in which first residual product appears and iron powder included Al2O3 is sticked. Because bending degree of 4Hi-rolling mill is higher than 6Hi-rolling mill, the first surface mirror was occurred to its center-point which is loaded strongly. 6Hi-rolling mill shape-controlled by intermediate roll doesn't need the initial crown to work roll. Therefore, fatigue and wear would appear a little bit.

열연 마무리 압연공정 압연롤 회전속도 설정 기술 개발 (Development of Technology for Setting Rolling Speed of Finishing Rolling Process in Hot Strip Mill)

  • Rolling speed, roll gap, and cooling pattern in hot strip finishing mill process should be determined before inserting strip into roll. Such parameters are initially calculated by a mathematical set-up model. The technique to find adequate roll speed via a mathematical model has inherently limit because required working conditions are various and rolling process is nonlinear. To improve the accuracy of initial rolling speed for a finishing mill, this paper suggests a correction technology for initial rolling speed. The proposed method was implemented in hot strip mill process. As the results, the magnitude of width error in strip head-end part caused by excessive strip tension was decreased remarkably.

윤활성 및 압연기 청정성을 겸비한 냉간 압연유의 개발 (Development of a Cold Rolling Oil with Lubricity and Mill Cleanness Property)

  • The purpose of this study is to develop a cold rolling oil with lubricity and mill cleanness property under the rolling conditions of high reduction ratio and high rolling speed. Six kinds of oil samples were blended. Evaluation of lubricity and anti-seizuro property of the samples were carried out with a laboratory scale rolling mill, where the contact conditions between work roll and strip are very close to actual cold rolling mill. Laboratory evaluation for dispersion, contamination, anti-oil stain property and residual carbon, etc. were carried out with several testers such as longterm circulation tester, Coulter counter and Conradson tester. A new high speed cold rolling oil with good lubricity and mill cleanness property was developed compared with the previously developed rolling oil.

  • To fulfill recent requirements for high quality products in steel rolling process, fast responding and easily tunab control system is required and ILQ(Inverse Linear Quadratic) control system may be one of such alternatives. In this paper characteristics of ILQ control and its application to BUR(Back-Up-Roll) eccentricity in strip rolling mill is discussed and compared to polynomial control approaches. Also the rolling mill model and basic principle to control thickness of srip are introduced with control effect by polynomial methods.

This paper shows a chaotic behaviour of vibration signal in rolling mill using embedding method. Not only phase plane and Poincare map are implemented but also FFT and histogram of vibration signal in rolling mill is presented by embedding method.

  • 회전체 베어링 상태진단에 신뢰성을 갖기 위하여 여러 가지 진단 방법이 연구되고 있으며, 이때 이용하는 변수는 온도와 소음, 진동 그리고 윤활유가 있으며 분석 방법으로는 온도추이분석, 소음분석, 진동분석, 윤활제 분석방법이 주로 이용되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 압연기 베어링의 상태진단의 변수로 베어링의 진동 신호를 선택하고 이 진동신호에서 비선형성이 강한 신호 즉 카오스적 거동이 있음을 타켄스의 매립법과 포엔카레 단면을 이용하여 확인하였다.

  • 생산라인의 예기치 않은 운전정지로부터 손실을 피하기 위한 기기의 조기 경보 체제인 고장 진단 시스템은 매우 중요하다. 베어링은 베어링 자체가 비선형이기 때문에 초기에 베어링의 이상 진단을 행한다는 것은 매우 어렵다. 본 연구에서는 압연기 베어링의 상태진단의 변수로 베어링의 진동 신호를 선택하고 이 진동신호에서 비선형성이 강한 신호 즉 카오스적 거동이 있음을 FFT, 타켄스의 매립법과 포엔카레 단면을 이용하여 확인하였다.

  • To increase dimensional accuracy of strip width, model to compensate width spread during roughing mill has been developed. To measure the amount of width spread during the production rolling more precisely, special roughing rolling procedures for the horizontal rolling and dog-bone rolling were designed in the actual production mill. From the operational data analysis, it is known that the prime factors influencing on the width spread were strip width, strip thickness, edging amount, number of pass and type of edger roll etc., Based upon the statistical analysis of rolling data, new models which can predict width spread during horizontal rolling and dog-bone rolling were developed and tested on the actual processing conditions for the reliability. The application test showed that newly developed model gave fairly accurate predictions on the width spread during roughing passes.

  • In the rolling of steel or non-steel metal the most important quality aspect are thickness and flatness. In thickness, there are two important factors. One of them is getting close with accurate goal, nominal gauge, the other is minimize gauge bandwidth, the variation in gauge. In this thesis, we proposed the fuzzy model AGC to minimize gauge variation along the length, developed the rolling mill dynamic model using the math mode of the rolling mill process and the rolling model related with the variety character of the rolling material. We compared the gauge control efficiency of fuzzy model AGC and PI mass flow AGC. We have got a simulation result, that the exit gauge variation of PI mass flow AGC was 2 micron and fuzzy model AGC was 1.2 micron at 1200mpm of rolling speed when each controller was rolling 5 micron of material that is the entry gauge variation.
