  • Many locomotion purpose robots are being built and are under research such as mobile manipulator and biped humanoid robot, etc. Dynamic posture stability of these robots is based on the ZMP point. For getting stable ZMP trajectory, some method has been developed but is too complex and time consuming which leads to inability in generating on-line ZMP trajectory. In this paper, we give a qualitative study about behavior of ZMP in biped walking robot through visualization. This result gives intuitive understanding about behavior of ZMP under various robot state.

  • Omnidirectional mobile robots are capable of arbitrary motion in an arbitrary direction without changing the direction of wheels, because they can perform 3 degree-of-freedom (DOF) motion on a 2-dimensional plane. In this research, a new class of an omnidirectional mobile robot is proposed. Since it has synchronously steerable omnidirectional wheels, it is called an omnidirectional mobile robot with steerable omnidirectional wheels (OMR-SOW). It has 3 DOFs in motion and one DOF in steering. One steering DOF can function as a continuously variable transmission (CVT).   • This paper deal with the solution of kinematics and inverse kinematics of industrial FANUC robot by the bisection method with IBM PC 386. The inverse kinematics of FANUC robot cannot be solved by the algebraical method, because arm matrix T$_{6}$ is very complex and 6-joint angles are associated with the position and the approach of end-effector. Instead we found other 5-joint angle by an algebraical method after finding .theta.$_{4}$ value by a bisection method.d.

  • RCCL(Robot Control C Library) is general purpose robot control language. It is programmed with C language and composed of C library. So it is well portable and supports sensor integration control and high level force control algorithms. We implemented RCCL on PUMA. We developed servo controller of DDC(Direct Digital Control). We used intel 8097BH one chip micro controller as CPU. One digital servo board controls three motors. Host computer is IBM PC 386DX-33 with RCCL.

  • Generally, Industrial robots are often controlled using joint processors and treating each joint as an independent servo loop. This paper presents a system architecture for robot control designed for real-time control of motion and sensory processing utilizing general-purpose Personal Computer. And for easily use and system expendability, robot language is implemented with C-language as base language. Through this system user can easily update robot language by design of his own language primitives. This system also don't require another development tool and can be used as advanced algorithm simulator in robotics laboratories.

  • The multi-task operating system called HRMTOS (HUNDAI Robot Multi-task Operating System) was developed for concurrent execution. HRMTOS consists of condition interpreter, queue constructor, task scheduler. Condition interpreter checks the status and condition of request, queue constructor makes queue according to the checked result by condition interpreter, and task scheduler finds the task that will be urgently executed by priority of queue after pending the current excuting task. HRMTOS could execute teaching, playback, monitoring function of multi-robot and could be used more effectively than other robot controllers.

  • In considering the singularities of robot, singularity avoidance control of robot wrist is very important. Because it is more difficult structurally to exclude the wrist singularity than the arm singularity. Since control policies with Jacobian may bring about mathematical singularities, control policies with Euler parameters that never cause mathematical singularities are necessary. In this research, singular status of robot wrist was analyzed and control algorithms for 3 and 4 axes robot wrist were proposed. Application results of the proposed control algorithms to the path including singularity showed us usefulness and validity.

  • Recently the needs for industrial robot system of high speed continuous path motion such as sealing application have been increasing. To apply to this kinds of work, dynamic analysis for Hyundai 8601 robot has been carried out by experiment. For the good design of high performance robot manipulator, accurate analysis of dynamic characteristics is important especially for current semi-closed loop control type industrial robots.
