Annually, several construction workers fall ill, are injured, or die due to heat-related exposure. The prevalence of work-related heat illness may rise and become an issue for workers operating in temperate climates, given the increase in frequency and intensity of heatwaves in the US. An increase in temperature negatively impacts physical exertion levels and mental state, thereby increasing the potential of accidents on the job site. To reduce the impact of heat stress on workers, it is critical to develop and implement measures for monitoring physical exertion levels and mental state in hot conditions. For this, limited studies have evaluated the utility of wearable biosensors in measuring physical exertion and mental workload in hot conditions. In addition, most studies focus solely on male participants, with little to no reference to female workers who may be exposed to greater heat stress risk. Therefore, this study aims to develop a process for objective and continuous assessment of worker physical exertion and mental workload using wearable biosensors. Physiological data were collected from eight (four male and four female) participants performing a simulated drilling task at 92oF and about 50% humidity level. After removing signal artifacts from the data using multiple filtering processes, the data was compared to a perceived muscle exertion scale and mental workload scale. Results indicate that biosensors' features can effectively detect the change in worker physical and mental state in hot conditions. Therefore, wearable biosensors provide a feasible and effective opportunity to continuously assess worker physical exertion and mental workload.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify nursing interventions frequently used with cancer patients. Nursing records from 5 general hospitals for patients with stomach, liver, lung or colon cancer were analyzed. Method: A descriptive study methodology was used and nursing records for 15 patients in each disease category at each hospital, who were admitted and discharged during June 2007 were analyzed. Results: Five domains of NIC were found and the physiological(basic) domain was most frequent (31.52%). Twenty two classes of NIC were identified with risk management for safety being most frequent (22.49%). For the 119 nursing interventions identified, the most frequent was pain management with 7,827 (12.31%), followed by prevention of falls (11.76%), surveillance (6.79%) and wound care (5.12%). Nursing activities of pain management and prevention of falls were comparable to activities listed in literature on guidelines for evidence based and best practices in nursing care. Eight of the 17 nursing activities for pain management, and 9 of 14 for fall prevention were consistent with these guidelines. Conclusion: In this study, nursing interventions were found to be focused on physical care, monitoring patients' condition and education. We have to develop diverse nursing interventions and a convenient recording process.

Purpose : This study systematically assessed 9 emotion-function programs for schizophrenic individuals that have been implemented over the past 10 years in Korea and abroad, with the objective of providing clinical grounds and data for further programs. Methods : This study identified 2,558 studies from among those registered in the RISS, KISS, EMbase, PubMed and Scopus databases from 2013 to September 2023, using 'schizophrenia' AND 'emotion' AND ('program' OR 'therapy') as keywords. Of the 2,558 studies retrieved from electronic databases, 602 duplicate papers were excluded. After this process, 1,915 papers that did not meet the study's inclusion and exclusion criteria were excluded based on their titles and abstracts. Following a review of the texts of the remaining 41 papers, nine papers were finally selected, excluding 32 papers according to the selection and exclusion criteria. Results : Programs for the emotional function of patients with schizophrenia have continued to be researched. The results of an evaluation on the quality of the selected literature confirmed that a majority of the reviewed items were "uncertain", confirming that there was a risk of bias. The interventions for emotions included art, cognitive-behavioral, and physical programs, of which art programs were frequently applied. Most of the interventions were implemented in hospitals. The dependent variables for evaluating emotions included emotional expression, depression, anxiety, and positive emotions, and among them, emotional expression was used most frequently. Accordingly, the Berkeley expressivity questionnaire was commonly used as an evaluation tool. Conclusion : This study is significant for intending to analyze domestic and overseas programs for the emotions of patients with schizophrenia, thereby proposing the direction for planning and applying interventions in clinical settings. In follow-up studies, it will be necessary to develop a protocol that confirms interventions according to the settings and patient characteristics of programs and expands the scope of literature reviews.

Gang-foam is used in many construction projects because it is not only precise in terms of vertical, horizontal, and specifications, but also easy to install and dismantle. However, major accidents occur every year due to non-compliance with safety rules and work order, also manuals and checklists currently in use are insufficient. Thirty-seven surveys was conducted by analyzing major accident cases of domestic gang-form construction project and deriving 20 risk factors and 43 check points. Based on the survey, the importance and appropriateness of check points were evaluated. As a result of this study, a checklist was presented, check points were placed in the order of importance based on assembly, installation, dismantling, and lifting of the Gang-form process. The checklist was organized so that workers could comply with safety rules and work order. Through this, it is expected to prevent major accidents and contribute to efficient safety management.
The purpose of this study is to examine the implications of Deleuze and Guattari's Machinism and Pedagogy of Assemblages. A slow, empirical process offered by Deleuze and Guattari is possible only if they experience a repetition of the duration in time. The identity of this world, a combination of potential and reality, is expressed as a machine. The identity of the 'machine' is the generation. The identity of the information society that exists everywhere in the cloud and unconsciously collects big data is also the information society. The information society is at risk of leaning toward a society in which individual desires are managed prior to the manifestation of a self-reliance a machine consisting of unmarked and mechanical arrangements. Social science based on the theory of layout shares the characteristics of repetition patterns, coexistence of linguistic and materiality, attention to boundary and negation to total whole. The pedagogy of layout, in which the collective pattern is structurally deformed in time, conforms to the original problem consciousness of Deleuze and Guattari, slow and empirical education. In addition, the work of examining the materiality and expression of the education-machine will contribute to the establishment of a new learning theory, an educational theory in the era of trans-human.

Brazil is considered as a great broiler feet exporter, especially for the Chinese trade. Contact lesions at the tibiotarsal region are responsible for economic losses and there is no model for its classification, thereby this study presents a fast and practical grade system to be used in the poultry industry and proposes these lesion characterizations into three different grades. For this, correlation was made between macroscopic, histological findings and microbiological quantification (Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus spp., Streptococcus spp. and sulphite-reducing clostridia) from contact lesions in the tibiotarsal region of 112 broiler carcasses, divided in four groups (n=28), accordingly to the lesion's intensity. There were no significant differences in microbiological quantification among the groups (p>0.05) except for the grade 3 group, as grade 1 and 2 lesions were in the early stages and histopathological changes such as ulceration were not observed. In grade 3 lesion group, it was observed bacterial cocci grume and ulceration at the articular region and significantly higher microbiological count (p<0.05) for E. coli and Staphylococcus spp. In conclusion, the visual standard proposed in this work, correlated and confirmed by the histopathologic, and microbiologic characterization, allows to precise and fast ascertainment of the contact lesion grade in the tibiotarsal regions of broiler carcasses. Moreover, it should be highlighted that grades 1 and 2 alterations are not caused by an inflammatory process caused by pathogenic agents and should not be considered a public health risk.

Background: Messaging surrounding skin cancer prevention has previously focused on the general public and emphasized how or when activities should be undertaken to reduce solar ultraviolet radiation (UVR) exposure. Generic messages may not be applicable to all settings, and should be tailored to protect unique and/or highly susceptible subpopulations, such as outdoor workers. The primary objective of this study was to develop a set of tailored, practical, harm-reducing sun safety messages that will better support outdoor workers and their employers in reducing the risk of solar UVR exposure and UVR-related occupational illnesses. Methods: We adapted a core set of sun safety messages previously developed for the general population to be more applicable and actionable by outdoor workers and their employers. This study used an integrated knowledge translation approach and a modified Delphi method (which uses a survey-based consensus process) to tailor the established set of sun safety messages for use for outdoor worker populations. Results: The tailored messages were created with a consideration for what is feasible for outdoor workers, and provide users with key facts, recommendations, and tips related to preventing skin cancer, eye damage, and heat stress, specifically when working outdoors. Conclusion: The resulting tailored messages are a set of evidence-based, expert- approved, and stakeholder-workshopped messages that can be used in a variety of work settings as part of an exposure control plan for employers with outdoor workers.

Nowadays, fintech becomes the key technology of the mobile banking and payments. Financial market is moved to fintech-based non-face-to-face trade/payment from traditional face-to-face process in Korea. Core of this transition is the smartphones, which have several sensitive sensors for personal identifications such as fingerprint and iris recognition sensors. But it has some originated security risks by data path attacks, for instance, hacking and pharming. Multi-level certification and security systems are applied to avoid these threats effectively, while these protections can be cause of some inconvenience for non-face-to-face certifications and financing processes. In this paper, I confirmed that it have sensible differences correspond with the data connection paths such as WiFi networks and mobile communication networks of the smartphones, and I propose a gradual certification method which alleviates the inconvenience by risk-level definitions of the data-paths.
ESG (environmental, social, governance) management is being introduced with the goal of sustainable development of the company in risk management, which identifies and judgement various risks that may occur in the industry. In the future, ESG evaluation will be used more as a value judgment tools for corporate sustainability. This ESG evaluation was used to manage the company's accident prevention level. Through morphological analysis of the current ESG evaluation system, it was found that the quantitative 'safety evaluation index' available in ESG was insufficient through analysis of safety evaluation items. In this study, domestic and foreign industrial accident data was analyzed, 'accident contributing factors' that required intensive management were derived, and major safety management items that needed supplementation were selected based on the results. ESG safety evaluation indicators were developed through the process of optimizing the selected items into evaluation factors suitable for 'accident prevention management'.

Due to COVID-19, the spread of non-face-to-face culture is increasing the time spent indoors. Accordingly, it is necessary to reduce indoor air pollutants. Also, among building materials, there are paints. As the number of coatings increases, the coating film becomes thick, and there is a risk of cracking and falling off. Therefore, this study is to examine the adsorption properties of indoor air pollutants according to the number of coatings of a paint mixed with powdered activated carbon. In the experimental plan, the addition ratio of powdered activated carbon was selected as 30%, and the number of coatings was selected as primcoating, second coat, and finishing coat, and the concentration of formaldehyde and volatile organic compounds were measured. As a result, as the number of coatings increased, the concentration of formaldehyde and volatile organic compounds tended to decrease. This is considered to be due to the fact that not only the physical adsorption acted by the internal pores of the powdered activated carbon, but also because a lot of powdered activated carbon was present on the painted surface as the coating film was formed. However, since it is judged that there is an error in the concentration due to the inflow of external air as the chamber cover is opened to put the test object in the adsorption test process, it is considered that the experimental method needs to be supplemented.
