Analysis of Speed Ripple Reduction Methods for Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor with Eccentric-weight Load (AC 부하를 갖는 동기전동기의 고정도 속도제어기법 분석)

  • AC 부하를 갖는 동기전동기에 있어서, 동기전동기의 속도리플을 저감시키기 위한 문제를 풀기위해 3가지 제어기법에 대해 비교를 한 후 가장 강인한 제어기법에 대해 분석하였다. AC 부하를 갖는 특별한 제어 대상으로 엑스선 전산화 단층촬영 장치(CT)용 겐트리를 선정하였으며 시스템이 갖는 특별한 구조에 의해 이러한 시스템 특성을 갖는다. 동기전동기의 출력 축에 링(Fing) 모양의 원판 프레임을 갖으며, 이 원판 표면에 무게가 서로 다른 여러 장치(X_선 튜브, X-선 검출기, 고압발생장치, DAS 장치, 온도조절장치 등)를 부착하여 영상 획득 시스템의 회전부를 구축하기 때문이다. 이러한 시스템에서는 무게 평형을 갖지 못하는 편심 무게가 존재하게 되며 이로써 전동기 관점에서는 AC 부하처럼 인식되는 제어 조건으로 인식 될 수 있다. AC 부하를 갖는 동기전동기에 대해 일반적인 벡터제어 알고리즘으로 제어를 수행하면 정상상태에서도 속도 오차가 "0" 으로 줄어들지 않고 AC 형태의 오차 성분이 존재하며 편심 무게의 크기에 비례하여 진폭이 커지는 특성을 갖는다. 이러한 문제점을 해결하기 위하여 Sine파 보상전류를 갖는 속도제어기법, 펀심부하토크 관측기를 이용한 속도제어기법, 그리고 기준모델제어기법을 소개하였다. 각 방법에 대한 실험 결과로부터 편심무게의 변동과 편심 위치의 변동 조건에서 기준모델제어기법이 강인한 제어 특성과 리플저감 측면에서 가장 우수함을 검증하였다. 이로써 AC 부하 조건에서 고정도 속도 제어기가 요구되는 경우 좋은 선택의 지침이 될 수 있다고 본다.

  • 사다리꼴 역기전력을 갖는 BLDC 모터 제어에 있어서, 전류 맥동의 문제가 가장 심각하다. BLDC 모터 제어의 많은 연구가 이 전류 맥동 문제를 개선하기 위하여 연구되어지고 있다. 맥동의 저감을 위하여 전류 전환 시간동안에 전류 전환시의 보상 PWM 듀티를 인가하는 방법으로 전류의 감쇠/상승 기울기를 같게 하여 맥동을 줄일 수 있는 방법이 연구되었다. 여기서 전류전환 시간을 측정하기 위해서는 전류 전환시작 시점의 상전류를 아는 것이 매우 중요하다. 상 전류를 측정하는 방법으로는 전류센서를 이용하는 방법이 보편적으로 사용되나 저항을 이용한 전류 검출 방법을 사용하면 스위치의 On/Off에 대하여 이산적인 전류를 측정하게 되는 문제점이 있을 수 있다. 다른 방법으로는 전기 모델을 이용하여 전류를 추정함으로서 전류 검출을 대신할 수 있다. 이러한 전류 추정기는 선형 방정식으로 모델을 구성할 수도 있고, 뉴럴네트웍으로 전류모델을 구성할 수도 있다. 선형방정식으로 구하여진 모델은 일반적으로 실제 시스템에 산재되어 있는 비선형 성분들을 모델 내에 포함시킬 수 없다. 본 연구에서는 뉴럴네트웍 모델을 이용하여 안정적이면서 매우 정확한 비선형 모델을 이용하여 비교적 간단한 방법으로 전류를 추정하고 이를 전류 맥동 저감 방법에 적용하여 전류 맥동 보상에 유용함을 보였다.

  • In fact, in order to obtain good performances and low torque ripple, a high-resolution sensor is needed, which is costly and usually needs a special construction for the machine. So researchers are becoming aware of their cost and are exploring the possibility of cost reduction. Information of rotor position is necessary to drive Linear Switched Reluctance Motor(LSRM). Therefore, linear optical encoder is used to detect a mover position. Normally, since the price of encoder, which is used for linear motor is relatively higher than the one used for rotory motor and the cost of additional equipment increases with the length of motor. This is not always appropriate, considering economical efficiency in case of using the linear optical encoder. As a results, LSRM has a great part for the total cost. Therefore, in this paper, we propose LSRM position detecting modeling with reflective type photo-sensor. Additionally, we have investigated the possibility of the reduced position sensor for LSRM drives with advanced control technique. To certify the overall characteristics of the proposed method, a simulation using PSIM software has been carried out and the informative results are displayed.

  • Conventional UPS(Uninterruptible Power Supply) using batteries for assisting the source is limited by the large volume and the life-time of battery. Moreover, voltage variation caused by the sudden load variation brings the problems on UPS system output. In this paper, the battery using fuel cell which is environment-friendly alternative energy is connected on AC/DC converter for UPS to compensate the sudden load variation energy and make the stable power.

  • 본 논문에서는 왜곡된 역기전력을 갖는 매입형 영구자석 동기전동기의 토크리플 저감 방법을 제안한다. 역기전력에 왜곡성분이 있는 경우 정현파 전류로 모터 제어 시 역기전력의 왜곡으로 인한 토크리플은 전동기의 진동 증대 및 효율 저하의 요인이 된다. 이러한 토크리플에 의한 전동기의 진동은 특히 저속에서 문제가 된다. 저속운전 시 전동기의 토크리플을 저감하기 위해서는 역기전력의 왜곡에 의한 토크리플을 줄일 수 있는 토크리플 보상 전류제어가 필요하다. 이 경우 토크리플 보상전류를 구하기 위해서는 역기전력의 왜곡성분에 대한 정보가 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 역기전력의 왜곡성분을 off_line 방식이 아닌 전류기반 MRAS 관측기를 사용하여 실시간으로 추정하여 토크리플 저감전류를 보상함으로써 토크리플을 저감한다. 제안된 토크리플 저감 알고리듬은 시뮬레이션을 통해 검증한다.

  • In this paper, we propose a new small swing domino logic that reduces the swing amplitude by using twist-connected PMOS and NMOS transistors. The output swing range of the proposed circuit is adjusted by the size of the twist-connected transistors and the load capacitance. The designed RCA with the proposed circuit technique shows reduction of the power consumption by 37% and PDP performance by 43% compared with the domino CMOS logic.

  • This paper proposes a new compensation algorithm for the current measurement errors in a DFIG (Doubly Fed Induction Generator). Generally, current measurement path with current sensors and analog devices has non-ideal factors like offset and scaling errors. As a result, the dq-axis currents of the synchronous reference frame have one and two times ripple components of the slip frequency. In this paper, the main concept of the proposed algorithm is implemented by integrating the 3-phase rotor currents into the stationary reference frame to compensate for the measured current ripples in a DFIG. The proposed algorithm has several beneficial features: easy implementation, less computation time, and robustness with regard to variations in the electrical parameters. The effectiveness of the proposed algorithm is verified by several experiments.

  • Electric Power cable is the apparatus that receives electric power from the Korea Electric Power Corporation and supplies electric power to electric train and annex facilities of each railway station. With substantial ripple effect during power blackout accidents, such power blackout accidents must be coped with by discriminating the status of insulation deterioration of electric power cable in advance. Discrimination of insulation deterioration of the electric power cable is normally executed while the power is disconnected and it is very difficult to discover, at early stage, the insulation deterioration of the power cable in operational state since the duration of inspection is limited. This research aims to consider method of diagnosing the insulation deterioration of electric power cable in On-Line state rather than diagnosis in Off-Line state in order to secure reliability of power supply by reducing duration of power blackout (accidental blackout and blackout during works) and by seeking reduction in equipment and manpower used in diagnosis of deterioration through prevention of the accident itself prior to occurrence through early restoration of accident due to insulation deterioration of the electric power cable and assessment of performance of the cable under operation.

Design and Analysis of a Material Efficient Sinusoidal Consequent-Pole High-Speed Axial-Flux Machine

  • This paper presents a high-speed axial-flux machine which utilizes the idea of sinusoidal shaped pole combined with a consequent iron-pole. The target of the proposed machine is the cost reduction of the relatively expensive Samarium-Cobalt (SmCo) permanent magnet (PM) material and the torque per PM volume improvement by using sinusoidal consequent-pole rotor. The effectiveness of the proposed machine is validated by comparing it with conventional consequent-pole and with conventional PM machines using 3-D finite element method (FEM) simulations. The comparison and analysis is done in terms of back electro-motive force (back-EMF) harmonic contents, torque per PM volume and torque ripple characteristics. The simulation results show that the proposed machine is suitable and cost-effective for high-speed and high torque per PM volume applications. Furthermore, due to the consequent pole, the magnetic flux saturation and the overload current torque-capability are also presented and discussed in the paper.

Operation characteristics of SFCLs combined with a transformer in three-phase power system

  • The studies of superconducting fault current limiter (SFCL) for reduction of the fault current are actively underway in the worldwide. In this paper, we analyzed the characteristics of a new type SFCL using the conventional transformer and superconducting elements combined mutually. The secondary and third windings of this SFCL were connected the load and the superconducting element, respectively. The electric power was provided to load connected to secondary windings of the transformer in normal state of power system. On the other hand, when the fault occurred in power system, the fault current was limited by closing the line of third winding of the transformer. At this time, the ripple phenomenon of the fault was minimized by opening the fault line in secondary winding of a transformer in power system. The sensing of the fault state was performed by the CT(current transformer) and then turn-on and turn-off switching behavior of the SFCL was performed by the SCR(silicon-controlled rectifier). As a result, the proposed SFCL limited the fault current within a half-cycle efficiently. We confirmed that the fault current limitation rate was changed according to the winding ratio of a transformer.
