  • Let 𝓡 be a 2-torsion free unital ring containing a non-trivial idempotent. An additive map 𝛿 from 𝓡 into itself is called a Jordan derivable map at commutative zero point if 𝛿(AB + BA) = 𝛿(A)B + B𝛿(A) + A𝛿(B) + 𝛿(B)A for all A, B ∈ 𝓡 with AB = BA = 0. In this paper, we prove that, under some mild conditions, each Jordan derivable map at commutative zero point has the form 𝛿(A) = 𝜓(A) + CA for all A ∈ 𝓡, where 𝜓 is an additive Jordan derivation of 𝓡 and C is a central element of 𝓡. Then we generalize the result to the case of Jordan higher derivable maps at commutative zero point. These results are also applied to some operator algebras.

  • The significance of spectral element method is that it can treat the mass and stiffness distribution exactly in contrast to the conventional finite element method, and therefore the dynamic behaviors within each spectral element can be obtained exactly. The present study provides the derivation of the spectral element of a curved beam, while the previous ones presented that of a straight structure. Further, in order to verify the derived spectral element, the natural frequencies of a ring by the spectral element method are compared with those by the analytical method and those by the FEM. From the verification, derived spectral element is admissible. And the dynamic behaviors of curved beam are simulated by using the derived spectral element of a curved beam.

  • The aim of this paper is to give the partial answer of Vukman's conjecture [2]. From the partial answer we also generalize a classical result of Posner. We prove the following result: Let R be a prime ring with char$(R){\neq}2,3$, and 5. Suppose there exists a nonzero derivation $D:R{\rightarrow}R$ such that the mapping $x{\longmapsto}$ [[[Dx,x],x],x] is centralizing on R. Then R is commutative. Using this result and some results of Sinclair and Johnson, we generalize Yood's noncom-mutative extension of the Singer-Wermer theorem.

  • Bridcage RF coil is one of the most widely used RF coils in MRI. In order to use birdcage RF coils in open MRI systems, an open tructured birdcage RF coil has been investigated. By opening the ring structure of an original birdcage RF coil and driving the coil at two opening ends, the original birdcage RF coil can be modified to an open structured coil. In order to improve magnetic field uniformity of the open birdcage RF coil, driving voltage phases at the two opening ends can be controlled to be in-phase or out-of-phase each other. Operating frequency of the open birdcage RF coil has been theoretically derived, and the theoretical derivation has been verified by experiments.
