철도차량의 제동성능 향상을 위한 점착현상에 관한 연구 (Wheel/Rail Adhesion for Improvement of Braking Performance)

  • The adhesion between wheel and rail plays an important role in the braking performance of trains. Though there have been numerous studies on the characteristics of adhesion phenomenon, a general understanding from the physical point of view is still lacking. In this work, the adhesion mechanism between wheel and rail was investigated by studying the mechanisms of pure rolling and sliding experiments. Tests were performed under various conditions to determine the physical phenomenon responsible for adhesion between wheel and rail. The results of this study is expected to aid in improving the braking performance of trains.

습도에 따른 자동차용 마찰재의 마찰특성에 관한 연구 (Effect of Humidity on Friction Characteristics of Automotive Friction Material)

  • The effect of humidity on friction characteristics of friction materials were studied using a pad-on-disk type friction tester. Three different friction materials containing simplified ingredients were investigated by changing the solid lubricant, graphite, MoS$_2$, and $Sb_2S_3$. A friction material without solid lubricant was also examined to study the effect of ingredients in the matrix on humidity. Friction material containing graphite showed lower friction coefficient at high humidity level than other conditions, however, friction material containing MoS$_2$ indicated higher friction coefficient at initial stage under high humidity level. Friction materials without solid lubricant and with $Sb_2S_3$ were little affected by humidity conditions.

자동차 브레이크용 마찰재에 사용되는 고체 윤활제에 따른 제동특성에 관한 연구 (Effect of Different Solid Lubricants in the Automotive Friction Material on Friction Characteristics)

  • Friction materials with three different formulations containing different solid lubricants were investigated to study the role of lubricants on the friction performance. The three friction materials contained graphite 10 vol.%, graphite 7 vol.%+$MoS_2$ 3 vol.%, and graphite 7 vol.%+$Sb_2S_3$ 3 vol.%, respectively, with the same amount of other ingredients. Results of this work showed that each formulation with different lubricants had unique advantages and disadvantages. The friction materials containing graphite 7 vol.%+$MoS_2$ 3 vol.% and graphite 7 vol.%+$Sb_2S_3$ 3 vol.% showed better resistance to fading and improved friction stability compared to the friction materials containing graphite only as a lubricant. However, the friction materials with two lubricants (graphite+$MoS_2$ or $Sb_2S_3$) showed disadvantages on DTV generation and rotor wear.

고속 앵귤러 콘택트 볼베어링의 마찰 토크 및 윤활 특성 (Characteristics of Friction Torques and Lubrication in High Speed Angular Contact Ball Bearings)

  • Friction torques, electrical contact resistances and bearing temperatures were measured on high speed angular contact ball beatings for the spindle of machine tools. The test bearings ran with oil-air lubrication at the thrust loads from 320 N to 1920 N and at the rotational speed of up to 12000 rpm. Electrical contact resistances between balls and races were measured to evaluate the formation of the lubricant film in the contact area. The test results with sufficient lubrication showed that the variations of friction torques were sensitive to the thrust loads and the rotational speeds, and that the friction torques were higher than those with insufficient lubrication. With insufficient lubrication and high thrust loads, the collapse of the lubricant film was detected even at a high rotational speed. It was concluded that these high speed beatings to run in condition of fluid lubrication should require monitoring not only the temperature increase of the bearing but also the lubricant film formation in contact areas resulting from the change in the applied load and the lubricant amount.

서해안 곰솔림의 구조분석과 식물상 - 기지포, 춘장대, 장항 및 구시포를 중심으로 - (Vegetation Structure and Flora of Pinus thunbergii Forests in Western Coast of Korea - Focusing Gijipo, Chunjangdae, Janghang and Goosipo -)

  • 본 연구는 해안림의 식생특성을 분석함으로써 다층구조의 혼효림으로 발전할 수 있는 가능성을 파악하고, 관리방안을 제시할 목적으로 수행되었다. 본 연구에서는 서해안에 위치한 기지포, 춘장대, 장항 및 구시포 등 4개 지역의 해안림을 대상으로 식생구조와 식물상을 조사 분석하여 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. 4개의 조사지역 교목층에서 곰솔이 우점하고 있으며 조사지역에 따라 일부 교목층과 아교목층에서 소나무, 아까시나무, 졸참나무, 산벚나무, 상수리나무 및 밤나무가 우점하고 있었다. 4개 지역 해안림의 곰솔군락은 전반적으로 어린 개체와 큰 개체의 밀도보다 중간 개체의 밀도가 높아 곰솔군락으로 계속 유지될 것으로 판단된다. 구시포 해안림의 경우는 지형적인 입지여건에 따라 장기적으로 참나무류의 군락으로 천이가 진행될 가능성이 있다. 조사대상지에서 총 205종의 식물 종이 조사되어 다양성이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 다층구조의 해안림으로 유도하기 위해서는 곰솔림의 간벌, 통행로 설치, 이용구역 제한 등의 관리를 통해 다양한 식생이 침입하여 생육할 수 있는 환경을 조성할 필요가 있다.
