밭벼 찹쌀의 겨층 구조와 전분의 호화 성질 (Bran structure and gelatinization properties of upland waxy rice starch)

  • Bran structure and gelatinization property of upland and lowland japonica waxy brown rice were compared. Dimension, weight and number of aleurone layer were similar between upland(Nonglimna 1) and lowland(Shinsunchalbyeo) rices, but the aleurone layer and pericarp of upland rice were thicker. Water uptake rate of upland rice at $60^{\circ}C$ was lower than that of lowland one. There was no difference in intrinsic viscosity between two rice starches. Upland rice starch had lower onset temperature, narrower gelatinization temperature and lower water content lot gelatinization compared with lowland rice starch.

소식재배용 이앙기 모판 이송간격에 따른 이앙정확도 분석 (Analysis of Transplanting Accuracy of Rice Transplanter for Low density Planting According to Transfer Distance to Seedling Tray)

  • Domestic rice is more expensive than imported products, so it is necessary to reduce production costs to secure competitiveness. Low-density planting developed in Japan is a cultivation technology that reduces labor and production costs without yield loss. The area of low-density cultivation is continuously increasing. However, research on how rice transplanters adapt to low-density planting has not been conducted. Therefore, this study was carried out to determine the optimal working conditions of a rice transplanter for low-density planting. Three types of rice transplanters were used and treated based on 3 conveying distance levels. The number of picked seedlings, pick missing rate, the number of planted seedlings, and the mis-planted rate were investigated to evaluate planting accuracy according to the transfer distance to the seedling tray. The results showed that the number of planted seedlings was 4.31~4.95 EA with an L1 seedling tray transfer distance (horizontal 9 mm, vertical 8 mm), but the mis-planted rate was higher than in other conditions. At L2 (horizontal 9 mm, vertical 10 mm) and L3 (horizontal 11 mm, vertical 8 mm) transfer distance conditions, the number of planted seedlings were 4.89-5.68 EA and 4.69-5.66 EA, respectively, with a low mis-planted rate of less than 3%. The results showed that if the transfer distance is adjusted properly, a rice transplanter can be used for low-density planting with high planting accuracy.

  • Being a staple food for more than half of the population of the world and South Korea, rice is an important crop. For the past 20 years, global paddy rice cultivation area and production have shown an annual growth of 0.46% and 1.61%, respectively. Global rice consumption for food and processing has increased by 1.37% and 3.68%, respectively. Due to the main reason for such increasing human population, it is expected that from 439 million tons in 2010, additional 116 million tons will be needed in 2035. Global rice imports and exports have doubled in the last 20 years. However, in spite of such increment, global rice exports in 2013 were 8.4% of the total production. It is thought that rice protection policies in the producing countries are the main reason for such small scale of rice trading. In the past 5 years, India recorded the largest growth rate in rice exports (51.4%), whereas China showed the largest growth rate in imports (61.0%). For global utilization of milled rice during the same period, approximately 79.4% was used as food, 7.2% as animal feeds, and 1.4% for processing. Regionally, Asia has shown a similar pattern to the global rice usage, whereas utilization for processing in America, for food in Africa, and for animal feed in Europe was relatively higher than the global rice usage. Korea's cultivation area and production since the last 5 years, are 0.5% and 0.8% of those of the world, respectively. Its annual rice export is approximately 3,000 tons, which is 0.01% of the global rice export. Korea's rice utilization is high for food and low for feed and for processing relative to global rice utilization. Therefore, a review must be conducted to increase Korea's utilization of rice for processing and for feed production.

출수후 경과일수 및 온도에 따른 벼 품종간 수발아성의 차이 (Varietal Difference in Viviparous Germination at Different Days after Heading and Temperature Conditions in Rice)

  • 본 연구는 소백벼, 중원벼 등 국내 재배품종과 교배모본으로 이용되는 재래품종을 공시하여 벼 품종의 현발아성의 차이를 알고자 수행되었으며 결과를 요약하면 아래와 같다. 1. 공시품종중 소백벼, 오대벼, 화성벼 및 자광도 등 자포니카형 품종은 출수 후 20일째부터 높은 수발아율을 보였으나 통일형인 중원벼와 인디카형인 IR-20은 출수후 40일에도 낮은 수발아율을 보였다. 2. 발아온도가 15$^{\circ}C$ 에서 3$0^{\circ}C$ 로 높아질수록 공시 품종 모두 수발아율과 초기발아세가 높아졌으며, 15$^{\circ}C$ 에서는 치상 후 4일까지 거의 수발아하지 않았다. 온도에 따른 수발아의 변화양상은 자포니카형 3품종과 샤레형 재래종인 자광도가 비슷하였고, 통일형인 중원벼는 인디카형 품종 IR-20과 유사하였다. 3. 평균온도가 동일한 경우 항온조건보다는 주야간 변온조건에서 초기의 수발아율이 다소 낮았으며, 품종간 수발아성의 차이는 포장상태의 기온을 고려하여 주야 25/15$^{\circ}C$ 의 변온 조건에서 치상 후6일째에 조사하는 것이 합리적이었다.

찰흑미와 일반찰벼의 물리적 특성 (Physical Properties on Waxy Black Rice and Waxy Rice)

  • 찰흑미와 일반찰벼 쌀알의 물리적 특성을 비교한 결과 무게와 길이, 길이와 폭의 비율, 부피는 찰흑미가 더 높았으나 폭과 밀도는 두 시료 모두 비슷하였다. 찰흑미와 일반찰벼 쌀알을 침지온도($20{\sim}50^{\circ}C$)에서 40분 동안 침지하면서 일정시간별로 꺼내어 수분흡수량을 조사한 결과 40분까지 계속적인 증가를 보였으며, 수분흡수속도상수($k_0$)는 침지온도가 증가할수록 수분흡수속도상수($k_O$)는 찰흑미와 일반찰벼 모두 증가하였는데 $20^{\circ}C$에서는 찰흑미($0.0090\;min^{-1/2}$)와 일반찰벼($0.0108\;min^{-1/2}$)는 비슷하였으나 $50^{\circ}C$에서는 찰흑미($0.0252\;min^{-1/2}$)가 일반찰벼$(0.034\;min^{-1/2})$보다 더 낮게 나타났다. $4^{\circ}C$에서 침지한 두 시료의 수분흡수속도상수는 찰흑미가 $0.033\;min^{-1/2}$, 일반찰벼는 $0.058\;min^{-1/2}$으로 찰흑미가 약 2배 정도 더 느리게 수분을 흡수하였고, 쌀알의 경도감소속도($-k_h$) 또한 찰흑미($0.022\;min^{-1}$)가 일반찰벼($0.048\;min^{-1}$)보다 약 2배 정도 더 느리게 감소함을 볼 수 있었다.

유기 및 관행벼 재배지 충해 발생 및 방제에 관한 연구 (Insect Pests Occurrence and Control in Organic and Conventional Rice Paddy Field)

  • 우리나라 벼 유기농업 실천농가의 가장 큰 애로사항은 알려져 있는 병해충의 제어기술을 정립하기 위하여 강화 등 5개 지역의 벼 유기농재배지와 관행재배지에서 해충의 발생실태와 방제실태를 조사한 결과는 다음과 같다. 1. 벼 생육시기별 해충발생은 강화지역의 오리농법과 쌀겨농법 재배지에서 본답 중기에 애멸구의 밀도가 높았으며 여주지역의 관행재배지에서 본답초기에 벼물바구미의 밀도가 높았다. 홍성지역에서는 본답초기에 관행방제구에 비하여 유기재배지에서 끝동매미충과 벼물바구미의 밀도가 높았다. 시기별 해충발생은 본답후기에 많았으며 지역 간의 차이는 있었으나 유기재배지에서 많은 경향이었다. 2. 홍성지역에서는 오리투입시기에는 발생이 적었으나 본답초기 및 후기에 발생이 많았다. 천적류도 본답후기에 발생이 많았고 지역별로 큰 차이는 없었으며 거미류와 기생봉류가 주류를 이루었다. 홍성지역에서는 유기재배지보다 관행재배지에서 꼬마거미와 접시거미의 발생이 많았다. 논거미의 분포는 대부분 조망성 거미인 꼬마거미과, 접시거미과, 갈거미과 등이 배회성 거미인 늑대거미, 염낭거미, 닷거미 등 보다 다양한 지역에서 발생하였으며, 거미의 발생량은 지역간의 차이가 심하였고 농법간의 차이는 일관성이 없었다. 3. 일부 자재의 경우 방제효과가 높이 나타났으나, 유기농 자재에 대한 효과는 보다 과학적인 검증이 필요한 상태이다.

보리 입모중 벼 파종시기 및 파종량이 생육과 수량에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Seeding Date and Rates on Rice Growth and Yield in Barley / Rice Relay Cropping System)

  • 미맥 작부체계에서 보리수확과 동시 벼 이앙작업에 따른 노동력의 경합과 우리나라 기상 여건상 소득이 낮아 답리작으로 맥류재배를 회피하는 실정이다. 이에 생력화 방안으로 보리입모중 상태에서 시기별로 공시품종인 간척벼를 인력산파하여 파종시기와 파종량 및 파종당시의 종자 최아 유무에 따른 입모수 및 수량구성요소와 수량을 검토하였던 바, 그 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 1. 입모수 및 입모율은 보리 수확당일 파종에서 가장 많았고, 파종량간에는 10kg /10a 수준에서, 그리고 건종자보다는 최아종자가 입모수가 많았으며 경향은 분얼기의 경수 및 수수에서도 같은 경향을 보였다. 2. 출수기는 맥후작 어린모기계이앙이 8월 20일이었는데, 수확 10 일 전 파종은 2일, 5일 전 파종은 3일 그리고 수확 당일 입모중 파종에서는 4일이 각각 지연되었다. 3. 보리 입모중 산파의 간장은 기계이앙보다 다소 짧았으나, 파종기 및 파종량간에는 차이가 없었다. 4. 도복정도는 수확 10일전과 5일전의 입모중 파종에서는 도복이 일어나지 않았으나, 수확당일 입모중 파종에서는 파종량이 많은. 8∼10kg/10a 수준에서 1∼3정도의 경미한 도복이 일어났다. 5. 수량은 맥후작 어린모기계이앙과 비교하여 보리입모중 파종은 파종시기가 이를수록 수량이 낮았고, 파종량이 많을수록 수량은 높았으며, 수확당일 입모중 파종에서 6kg/10a 수준이 3%, 8∼10kg/10a수준이 6% 정도 증수경향을 보였다.

Fertilization Efficiency of Livestock Manure Composts as Compared to Chemical Fertilizers for Paddy Rice Cultivation

  • To promote the practical use of livestock manure compost (LC) for paddy rice cultivation, the fertilization efficiency of nutrients in LCs was investigated compared to that of chemical fertilizer. This experiment was conducted at rice field in Hwaseong, Korea, with 6 treatments by each of 3 kinds of tested LCs, cattle manure compost (CaC), swine manure compost (SwC) and chicken manure compost (ChC). The treatments consisted of 3 application levels of LCs and 3 chemical fertilizer treatments having the same application levels with LCs. $NH_4$-N content in soil became higher according to the increase in the urea application rate, while it became lower in LC plots than in urea plots, and statistically had no significant difference among LC plots. There was a close relationship between phosphate fertilization rate and the increment of soil available phosphate content after experiment resulting y = 0.1788x - 6.169 ($R^2=0.9425$) when applied fused superphosphate fertilizer, and y = 0.0662x - 2.689 ($R^2=0.9315$) when applied LC at the equivalent rates to phosphate input (x: phosphate application rate, kg $ha^{-1}$, y: increment in soil available phosphate content, mg $kg^{-1}$). And from these two equations, the correlation on the phosphate application rate between fused superphosphate fertilizer and LC could be obtained as y = 2.7056x - 52.492 (x: $P_2O_5$ application rate of fused superphosphate, kg $ha^{-1}$, y: $P_2O_5$ application rate of LC, kg $ha^{-1}$). Plant height, number of tillers, nutrients uptake by rice, and rice yield showed higher levels in N 100% and N 150% application plots of chemical fertilizers, while every LC plots exhibited lower values and no significant difference among them. Relative nitrogen fertilization efficiencies of LCs compared to urea was 12.3% for CaC, 8.8 for SwC and 24.6 for ChC, respectively.

Effects Water Stress on Physiological Traits at Various Growth Stages of Rice

  • The object of this study was to determine the difference of the time course changes of transpiration, diffusion resistance and photosynthetic rate of rice at several different growth stages subjected to soil moisture stress (SMS) and recovery by irrigation. A japonica rice cultivar 'Dongjinbyeo', was grown under flooded condition in a plastic container filled with silty loam soil. At 5 main growth stages, the container was treated by SMS until initial wilting point (IWP) and then reirrigated. The duration of SMS until IWP were the longest, 13 days for tillering stage, and the shortest, 7 days for panicle initiation and meiosis stage. The transpiration rate rapidly decreased during SMS and the transpiration rate at IWP of the stressed plant showed 10∼20% compared with control, and the transpiration rate of stressed plant at most growth stages also recovered rapidly after irrigation and then reached 100% of control within a week. The shoot photosynthetic rate in all growth stages rapidly decreased by SMS, and the rates at IWP of stressed plants were de-creased nearly to 0%, beside the treatment at tillering stage. The recovery degree of photosynthetic rate by irrigation ranged from 20 to 90%, showed higher at early growth stages of SMS treatment than that of later stages. At all growth stages the leaf diffusion resistance of stressed plants was over 3 times that of the control resulting from a rapid increase at 3 to 5 days after draining for SMS, and showed quick recovery by irrigation within 3 days after drainage. The above physiological parameters changed in close relation with the decrease of the soil matric potential after SMS. These results indicate that at all main growth stages of rice plants the transpiration and photosynthesis reduction by stomatal closure reponded sensitively to the first stage of SMS closely related with decrease of soil water potential, while those recovery pattern and recovered degree by irrigation are little different by growth stage of rice.
