Low driving voltage and high stability organic light-emitting diodes with rhenium oxide-doped hole transporting layer

  • We demonstrate fluorescent green organic lightemitting diodes employing a rhenium oxide ($ReO_3$)-doped N,N-diphenyl-N,N'-bis(1,1'-biphenyl)-4,4'-diamine (NPB) hole transporting layer (HTL). The devices exhibit significantly reduced driving voltages as well as prolonged lifetime. Details of $ReO_3$ doping effects are described in terms of charge transfer complex and stabilization of HTL morphology.

확산 접합에 의해 제조된 텅스텐-레늄 합금/티타늄/그래파이트 접합체의 미세구조 및 고온 안정성 (Interfacial Microstructure of Diffusion-Bonded W-25Re/Ti/Graphite Joint and Its High-Temperature Stability)

  • Graphite was diffusion-bonded by hot-pressing to W-25Re alloy using a Ti interlayer. For the joining, a uniaxial pressure of 25 MPa was applied at $1600^{\circ}C$ for 2 hrs in an argon atmosphere with a heating rate of $10^{\circ}C\;min^{-1}$. The interfacial microstructure and elemental distribution of the W-25Re/Ti/Graphite joints were analyzed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Hot-pressed joints appeared to form a stable interlayer without any micro-cracking, pores, or defects. To investigate the high-temperature stability of the W-25Re/Ti/Graphite joint, an oxy-acetylene torch test was conducted for 30 seconds with oxygen and acetylene at a 1.3:1 ratio. Cross-sectional analysis of the joint was performed to compare the thickness of the oxide layer and its chemical composition. The thickness of W-25Re changed from 250 to $20{\mu}m$. In the elemental analysis, a high fraction of rhenium was detected at the surface oxidation layer of W-25Re, while the W-25Re matrix was found to maintain the initial weight ratio. Tungsten was first reacted with oxygen at a torch temperature over $2500^{\circ}C$ to form a tungsten oxide layer on the surface of W-25Re. Then, the remaining rhenium was subsequently reacted with oxygen to form rhenium oxide. The interfacial microstructure of the Ti-containing interlayer was stable after the torch test at a temperature over $2500^{\circ}C$.

  • We have developed new electrical dopants of rhenium oxide ($ReO_3$) and cupper iodide (CuI) as p-dopants and rubidium carbonate ($Rb_2CO_3$) as an n-dopant, respectively. $ReO_3$ has advantage of low temperature evaporation (about $300^{\circ}C$) with enhanced device stability. Various kinds of high performance organic light emitting diodes have been realized, including bottom emission, tandem, and top-emission OLEDs.

열이온화 질량분석기를 이용한 Gd 동위원소 측정에서 동중원소 영향 (The isobaric effect on the measurement of Gd isotopes by thermal ionization mass spectrometry)

  • 열 이온화 질량분석기를 이용한 가돌리늄 동위원소 비 측정에서 동중원소 영향에 대하여 실험했다. 특히 $^{155}Gd/^{158}Gd$ 측정값은 자연 동위원소 비 보다 높게 측정될 뿐만 아니라 시간에 따라 이 비가 감소하는 현상을 보였다. 이것은 Gd 시료 중 미량의 La 불순물이 산화상태($^{139}La^{16}O^+$, m/z=155)로 존재하여 $^{155}Gd$ 동위원소에 동중원소 영향을 미쳐 이의 측정값이 높게 나오는 현상으로 판단된다. 또한 Gd 보다 La이 용융점과 이온화 에너지가 낮기 때문에 초기에 $LaO^+$가 많이 생성되고 시간에 따라 소멸되므로 $^{155}Gd/^{158}Gd$ 값이 감소하는 것으로 생각된다. 레늄필라멘트 중 Gd 동위원소에 영향을 주는 불순물로 Ba ($BaO^+$), Ce ($CeO^+$), Sm ($SmO^+$), La ($LaO^+$) 그리고 $K_4{^+}$ (m/z=156) 클러스터 등이 있는 것으로 확인되었으나, 이러한 원소들은 필라멘트를 진공 가열시켜 줌으로 동중원소 영향을 없앨 수 있었다. 또한 La, Ce, Ba 등에 의한 동중원소 영향이 매우 크기 때문에 이런 시료는 Yb, Sm, Dy, Er, Lu 등의 방해원소가 없거나 극히 작다면 $Gd^+$ 금속이온을 직접 측정하는 것 보다 산화상태인 $GdO^+$ 이온으로 동위원소 비를 측정하고 산소 동위원소 비를 보정해 주는 방법을 사용함으로 동중원소 영향을 피할 수 있는 방법임을 알 수 있었다.
