  • In this paper, we analyze a time-based update method in location management and calculate the optimal time-interval. The probability that an MT is j rings away from the center cell is obtained by computer programming. And using these values, an exact analysis is made for the time-based location management cost. From the result, when the time-based method is applied to location update, we can get the optimal time-interval which minimizes the location management cost.

  • Quantity take-off (QT) is one of the most important tasks for determining the total cost of a construction project, and it requires accuracy and reliability for the result. Accuracy and reliability in BIM-based QT are also required to assure the completeness of the result. However, there has been no basis to measure the completeness of the BIM-based QT result. As BIM is increasingly being adopted in the construction industry with a wide variety of purposes, it becomes more important to have a method to improve the completeness of BIM-based QT and criteria to measure it. This research focuses on the hypothesis that the completeness of BIM-based QT relies on the accuracy and reliability of BIM and the BIM-based QT process. As a basic research to determine the completeness of BIM-based QT, this research analyzes and derives factors that affect the completeness of BIM-based QT.

  • As the demand for distance education increases, interest in the management of learners' rights is increasing. Blockchain technology is a technology that guarantees the integrity of the learner's learning history, and enables learner-led learning control, data security, and sharing of learning resources. In this paper, we proposed a blockchain technology-based learning management system based on Hyperledger Fabric that can be verified through permission between nodes among blockchain platforms. Learning resources can be shared differentially according to the learning progress. Also the percentage of individual learners that can be managed. As a result of the study, the superiority of the platform in terms of convenience compared to the existing platform was demonstrated. As a result of the performance evaluation for the research in this paper, it was confirmed that the convenience was improved by more than 5%, and the performance was 4-5% superior to the existing platform in terms of learner satisfaction.

  • Case-Based Reasoning(CBR) offers a new approach for developing knowledge based systems. In case-based approach the problem solving experience of the domain expert is encoded in the form of cases. CBR has successfully been applied to many kinds of problems such as design, planning, diagnosis and forecasting. In this paper, CBR was applied for forecasting default risk. The applied result was successful in spite of the small casebase. Generally, CBR requires large casebase. So, if the number of data was large, the result was better. But in this paper, what financial variable was more forecastable was not tested. Next, this should be tested.

  • As Knowledge Management (KM) has taken an essential position of managing businesses in the knowledge-oriented society, many companies have adopted Knowledge Management System (KMS) into their organization. Many have questioned, however, in the result and the effectiveness in KMS. The purpose of this study is to explore ways to improve the current KMS by analyzing and identifying the causes that affect effectiveness of KMS. Blog which is an effective tool for communication could be used for KMS in order to make KMS more user friendly and more effective. This research is intended to conduct an empirical study on the differences between Blog-based KMS and Non-Blog-based KMS and suggest resolutions to potential issues of KMS. Blog-based KMS users show higher degree of satisfaction and usage toward their system. The result of this study suggests that the differences between two groups are primarily on system quality and knowledge quality, and many of these differences come from functions and characteristics of Blog.

  • Background: The constant consumption of chemical products owing to expanding industrialization has led to an increase in public interest in chemical substances. As the production and disposal processes for these chemical products cause environmental problems, regional information on the hazard level of chemical substances is required considering their effects on humans and in order to ensure environmental safety. Objectives: This study aimed to identify hazard contribution and spatiotemporal characteristics by region and chemical by calculating a hazard-based result score using pollutant release and transfer register (PRTR) data. Methods: This study calculated the chemical discharge and hazard-based result score from the Risk-Screening Environmental Indicators (RSEI) model, analyzed their spatiotemporal patterns, and identified hotspot areas where chemical discharges and high hazard-based scores were concentrated. The amount of chemical discharge and hazard-based risk scores for 250 cities and counties across South Korea were calculated using PRTR data from 2011 to 2018. Results: The chemical discharge (high densities in Incheon, Daegu, and Busan) and hazard-based result scores (high densities in Incheon, Chungcheongnam-do, and some areas of Gyeongsangnam-do Province) showed varying spatial patterns. The chemical discharge (A, B) and hazard-based result score (C, D) hotspots were identified. Additionally, identification of the hazard-based result scores revealed differences in the type of chemicals contributing to the discharge. Ethylbenzene accounted for ≥80% of the discharged chemicals in the discharge hotspots, while chromium accounted for >90% of the discharged chemicals in the hazard-based result score hotspots. Conclusions: The RSEI hazard-based result score is a quantitative indicator that considers the degree of impact on human health as a toxicity-weighted value. It can be used for the management of industries discharging chemical substances as well as local environmental health management.

  • Reaction of people is importantly considered about specific case as a social network service grows. In the previous research on analysis of social network service, they predicted tendency of interesting topic by giving scores to sentences written by user. Based on previous study we proceeded research of sentiment analysis for social network service's sentences, which predict the result as positive or negative for movie reviews. In this study, we used movie review to get high accuracy. We classify the movie review into positive or negative based on the score for learning. Also, we performed embedding and morpheme analysis on movie review. We could predict learning result as positive or negative with a number 0 and 1 by applying the model based on learning result to social network service. Experimental result show accuracy of about 80% in predicting sentence as positive or negative.

  • Purpose: This article aims 1) to propose improvement directions of the certification by recognizing the quality management practices based on the analysis of the audit results of the military contractors and 2) to suggest some ideas on quality audit planning preparation to help the government quality assurance representatives. Methods: Based on the nonconformity report of the defense quality management system (DQMS) requirements, frequently occurring requirement components are found and summarized. Three hypothesis testings are executed to check whether the maturity levels of the quality management systems are influenced by the company size, weapon tye, and company type, regarding the nonconformity frequency as dependent variable. Results: Nonconformity occurs most frequently in the order of product realization, measurement analysis and improvement, management responsibility, resource management, and quality management system. Nonconformity reduces when the company size increases, for the guided weapons, and in the defense companies. Conclusion: Since small-sized companies are inferior to larger companies with respect to the DQMS maturity level, more support should be provided to these small-sized companies which produce military supplies.

  • Sustainability is bound to be an eternal topic for managers who run companies. This sustainability is required not only by managers but also by various stakeholders. As a result, many companies are implementing sustainable management and are actively utilizing ESG, which has become a hot topic since 2020. In this study, we examined sustainable management and ESG, focusing on LX Hausys, which was the first in the interior industry to write a sustainable management report and received an ESG evaluation grade A for five consecutive years. As LX Hausys promoted sustainable management, it naturally focused on ESG management. As a result of meeting with LX Hausys HR executives and ESG managers for this study, ESG is not accepted as a new one. Rather, he emphasized that there is no need to approach this approach to ESG with grandeur and difficulty. This approach is consistent with the argument that ESG is a true approach to sustainable growth, not a management strategy based on the times. Like LX Hausys, ESG management can be consistently and continuously performed when implementing ESG strategies based on the resources and capabilities of companies, which can be seen as leading to corporate sustainability. This ESG management will be the right way to create a permanent company.
