A Study on the Urban Housewives따 Green-Consumption Behavior towards their value-Orientation (도시주부의 가치성향에 따른 녹색소비 행동에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study were (1)to investigate the housewives’value orientation toward environmental effect, (2)to examine the effect of environments and value-orientation on housewives’green-consumption behavior and (3)to analyze the hypothesized causal direct or indirect explanation effect among the housewives’green-consumption behavior. The 310 subjects of this study were selected from housewives lived in Seoul. The data obtained were analyzed by Mean, Pearson’s correlation, and Stepwise Multiple Regression Analysis. The major results were as follows: 1) The mean score of housewives’value-orientation was 4.45 out of 5. The value-orientation of housewives was affected by the following variables in order to: environmental pollution and participation I community organization. 2) The mean score of housewives’green-consumption behavior was 3.62 out of 5. The housewives’green-consumption behavior was affected by the following variables in order : value orientation, environmental knowledge, participation in community organization, mass media and recycling system. 3) The most influential variables on the housewives’ green-consumption behavior were in the rank of the value orientation(R²=.39). mass meia(R²=.11). and environmental knowledge(R²=.07).

Financial Management and Satisfaction of the Elderly Households (노인단독가구의 가계재정관리와 경제생활만족도)

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze financial management and satisfaction of the elderly households using System’s Approach. 1) Financial management behavior was influenced by age, present job, husband’s job before retirement, assets, family income, living expenses, experiences of financial management. 2) Financial satisfaction was influenced by age, present job, husband’s job before retirement, assets, family income, living expenses, experiences of financial management, and assessment of family financial conditions. 3) The result of regression analysis of input variables on the throughput variable showed that age of respondent and the middle age experiences of financial management emerged as predictors of financial management. There variables accounted for 48% of variance in the financial management behavior. 4) When financial satisfaction was regressed against input and throughput variables, 55% of the total variance of the financial satisfaction was explained by financial goal and assessment of family conditions.

  • Environmental concern has become the focus of various studies, academic research, company policies, and government policies. A business sector, which has seen a high level of urgency in environmental empowerment are small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). These are an economic sector, which is imbedded in society and has become one of the largest economic sectors in Indonesia. Therefore, this study analyzes the relationship between green human resource management (GHRM), workplace green behavior (WGB) and green innovation (GI), and increasing firm performance (FP). This study is using quantitative research methods. The data is obtained through distributing questionnaires to 180 culinary SMEs employees from cafes and modern food restaurant in the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY), Indonesia. The data is then analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with Smart-PLS. The results of this study show that GHRM has significant positive effect on workplace green behavior and firm performance, while workplace green behavior also has significant positive effect on green innovation and firm performance. In addition, green innovation has significant positive effect on firm performance. This study contributes to provide and extends the literature related to building green SMEs, which is empirically demonstrated to be able to improve company performance.

The Relationship between Time Management Behavior and Parenting Stress among Mothers of Preschool Children with Developmental Disabilities (학령 전 발달장애아 어머니의 시간관리행동과 시간관리만족도 및 양육스트레스와의 관계)

  • This study focuses on the relationship between time management behavior and parenting stress of mothers with developmentally disabled children. The participants of this study were 162 mothers whose children have developmental disabilities and attend pre-school and social welfare centers for early education. This study investigates the time management behaviors of the participants, and whether these behaviors have an effect on their time management satisfaction and parenting stress. The findings were as follows: 1) The time management behaviors of the participants were lower than average, scoring 2.87 out of 5. The order of dimensional scores from highest to lowest were sequencing, planning, recording habits, evaluating, and setting goals. 2) Time management satisfaction and parenting stress for the participants exhibited a negative correlation. 3) Adaptation behaviors of the children and time management behaviors of the mothers were factors that had significant effects on the mothers' parenting stress. These results showed the importance of time management for mothers with developmentally disabled children.

  • In this paper, we discuss issues related with conceptual definition and measurement of financial management behavior. Specifically, we examine the relationships among the management behavior relating to throughput, inputs, and outputs, based on the financial management systems model. Fer the analysis, we have reviewed articles that dealt with financial management behavior utilizing financial management systems model. The articles we reviewed appeared between the year 1986 to 2000, in four journals published in Korea (Journal of Korean Home Economics Association, Journal of Korean Home Management Association, Journal of Consumer Studies, and Journal of Korean Family Resource Management) as well as five home economics journals published in the U.S. The implications for the future research of financial management are also Presented.

The Time Management Practice of Middle School Students : Affecting Variables and Correlations with Academic Achievement (중학생의 시간관리 : 관련변수 및 학업성취도와의 관계)

  • The purpose of this study was to clarify variables affecting time management practice and the relationship between the practice and academic achievement of middle school students. Questionnaires including a time management scale were used for this study and the survey data were taken from 352 middle school students in Seoul and Gyeonggi-do. The statistical methods for the analysis were frequency, percentage, average, t-test, ANOVA and Pearson's correlation. The variables affecting student time management were gender, their standard of living, parental educational level and parental occupation. Religion and residential area were indicated as variables affecting several subscales of time management but the academic year of student had no effect on student time management behavior. The relationship between time management and the academic achievement of middle school students was slightly positive. Developing programs for time management in the field of family resource management is also necessary.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate investment behavior of mothers who have children of the lower grades in primary school and the effects of the variables. The subjects of this study were 454 mothers who have children of lower grades in primary school in Seoul. Statistics used for data analysis were frequency, mean, percentage, multiple regression. The households which paid their money for private education investment cost was 182.543 won a month and the mean of time use of mother for child education was 125 minutes a day. The most influencing variable on money investment to private education investment behavior was family income and on time investment to it was influence of reference group.

  • The purpose of this study explores the meaning of shopping and shopping behavior of consumer under the perception of time pressure. In this study, qualitative methods such as participation observation, depth interview, focus group interview were used. The major findings are as follows : First, consumer under the perception of time pressure defined shopping is mainly' grocery purchasing'. Second, they go shopping on weekend, in familiar store and buy the same kind of goods. Like this, their shopping patterns appear fixed type. Third, this study ascertained proposed time management strategies applied to shopping. Finally, a place of residence, driving or not, house helper, children and standard of family influence on consumer's shopping behavior additionally.

The Undergraduates' Money Income and the Clothes Purchasing Behavior (대학생의 화폐소득과 의복구매행동: 광주.전남지역 대학생을 대상으로)

  • This study investigated the effect of the money resource on the resource use behaviors of undergraduate students. The aim of the study was the examination of the relationship between undergraduate income and clothes-purchasing behavior. A total of 415 undergraduates residing in Gwangju City and Chonnam Province were interviewed by means of a questionnaire. SPSS 12.0 software was used for statistical analysis. Cronbach's $\alpha$, t-test, one-way ANOVA, Duncan's multiple range analysis and chi-square analysis were all conducted to acquire the results. The main results of this study are as follows. First, the average undergraduate income average was relatively high. Second, the motive for clothing purchases by undergraduates was to buy clothes similar to those which they already had. The undergraduates acquired their purchasing information from past experiences of buying clothes and considered design, quality and color when choosing their clothing. They purchased their clothes at retail stores and on average bought clothes about once a month. Although theaverage monthly expenditure on clothes was over 100,000 won, in general, the undergraduates spent between 50,000 and 100,000 won a month. They mainly paid cash when they purchased their clothes. Third, by analyzing the income, clothes-purchasing behavior, and clothes purchasing frequency of undergraduates, significant statistical differences in average monthly clothes expenditure and payment methods were detected. The results of the study can be used to understand the patterns of undergraduate money resource usage behaviors and can be utilized as an educational resource at home and within educational institutions.

  • The purpose of this study is to classify the subjects according to their lifestyles and analyze the art consumption behavior of them that are classified. Data were obtained form 390 people over 20 years of age. Factor analysis was used for examining dimensions of lifestyles and cluster analysis for classifying the type of lifestyles. This study found three different types of lifestyles, i.e., the conspicuous consumption-oriented type, the economical future-oriented type and the progressive leisure-oriented type. There are significant differences in art consumption behavior as well as socio-economic characteristics of the subjects among three types of lifestyles.
