  • A real-time measurement and control system was developed, This system is used for nurses at hospitals to check the residual quantity and changing time of Ringer's solution in nurses' room. Load Cell is utilized as a sensor to check the residual quantity of Ringer's solution, This Load Cell detects the physical changes of Ringer's solution and transfers electronic signal to the amplifier. Amplified analog signal is converted into digital signal by NO converter. Developed Embedded system, which computes these data with microprocess(8052) then makes it possible to monitor the residual quantity of Ringer's solution real-time on a server computer. • The commercial success of a new product is influenced by the time to market. Shorter product leadtimes are of importance in a competitive market. This can be achieved only if the product development process can be realized in a relatively small time period. New cutting inserts are developed by a time consuming trial and error process guided by empirical knowledge of the mechanical cutting process. The effect of previous cutting on chip formation and the surface residual stresses has been studied. The chip formation is not affected much. There is only a minor influence from the residual stress on the surface from tile first cutting on the second pass chip formation. Thus, it is deemed to be sufficient to simulate only the first pass. The influence of the cutting speed and feed on the residual stresses has been computed and verified by the experiments. It is shown that the state of residual stresses in the workpiece increases with the cutting speed. This paper presents experimental results which can be used for evaluating computational models to assure robust solutions. The general finite element code ABAQUS/Standard has been used in the simulations. A quasi-static simulation with adiabatic heating was performed. The path for separating the chip from the workpiece is predetermined. The agreement between measurements and calculation is good considering the simplifications introduced.

  • In this study, the threshold voltage and the response time of thermal stressed TN-LCDs showed the same performances on no thermal stressed TN-LCDs. There was little change of value in TN cells. Also, the transmittances of TN-LCDs on the rubbed PI surface were almost same while increasing thermal stress time. However, the thermal stability of TN cell was decreased by the high thermal stress for the long duration. Residual DC was decreased as the thermal stress increases. Especially, when TN cell was stressed more and more by heating, residual DC was changed a lot. As a result, the residual DC property of LCD in projection TV is affected very much by heating.

  • As a fundamental study on effects of thermal-cycles on residual stress of ceramics/metal joints, residual stresses in $Si_3N_4$/SUS304 joint specimens were measured before and single thermal-cycle by X-ray diffraction method and finite element method(FEM). The residual stress was found to increase after single thermal-cycle, which was agreeable with the results of residual stress measurement by X-ray diffraction method and residual stress analysis by finite element method. After the residual stress measurement, 4-point bending tests were performed. The relationship between the bending strength, the thermal-cycle temperature and hold time was examined. The bending strength was found to decrease with the increase of residual stress in linear relation.

  • Purpose: Numerical and experimental study was performed to evaluate the effect of peening temperature on the residual compressive stress distribution and magnitude of residual compressive stress at the material surface. Methods: A compressive air-propelled warm peening equipment was designed and manufactured for warm peening test. Results: 3D dynamic finite element (FE) model of the warm peening test was proposed and validity of the proposed FE model was verified by comparing the predicted residual stresses with the measured residual stresses in the open literature. Maximum warm peening temperature and a proper peening time were investigated with the proposed FE model. Conclusion: Compressive residual stress increased remarkably with peening temperature increased. But, peening temperature is greater than $350^{\circ}C$, the effect of peening temperature disappeared. Therefore, maximum peening temperature possibly applicable for warm peening industry might be $350^{\circ}C$ and peening time is 45s.

  • Chlorine has strong oxidizing power, also it is many advantages over other disinfectants such as the residual characteristic and economic feasibility. However, chlorine also has disadvantages such as creating disinfection by-products of chlorine as THMs. In particular, the most deadly disadvantage of chlorine is that it is extremely poisonous toxins about all alive lives. Disinfection with electrolysis water can be a very useful way Because you do not have to worry about chlorine's dangerous. In this study, we evaluated the potential as a disinfectant, across the evaluating disinfection effect and generating characteristic of by-products. The electrolyzed water could be obtained removal efficiencies of over 99.9 % the coliform by operating condition such as residence time, current density (voltage), the electrode gap. The residual chlorine be generated 10,000 mg/L in current density $1.0A/dm^2$ and residence time of 10 minutes. The residual chlorine concentration was possible to maintain a stable. The by-products generated by high concentration residual chlorine in the reactor such as trihalomethanes, haloaceticacid, chloralhydrate, haloacetonitrile were detected in less than a water quality standards. At the concentration of less than residual chlorine of 1 ppm, the chlorine disinfection by-products be generated most below the detection limit.

  • The safety of nuclear installations is largely determined by the tightness of fuel elements cladding. As the Fukushima nuclear accident showed, the main task in case of loss of power supply is to ensure reliable removal of residual heat release from spent fuel pool (SFP) with irradiated fuel assemblies (IFAs). The paper presents the results of calculated-experimental studies and thermal-hydraulic modeling of temperature storage modes of IFAs in SFP. Experimental studies of SFP's temperature regime and calculated evaluation of residual heat removal due to the thermal conductivity of building structures surrounding the SFP were performed. To ensure the safe operation of research reactors, it's necessary to know the IFA's residual heat power (RHP) in the reactor and SFP, which is determined depending on the operating time of fuel assemblies (FAs) and the IFAs calculated holding time. The FAs operating time depends on the reactor energy output. The IFAs calculated holding time is determined by the fuel burnup, U-235 mass in the fuel, and reactor utilization factor. The IFAs fuel burnup was calculated using the MCU-PTR program. Also presented are the RHP's calculation results using some of the empirical dependencies. The concept of a passive heat removal system (PHRS) based on thermosyphon's operating principle was proposed.

  • A class of life distributions, whose mean residual life keeps stable at its earlier phase and then starts to decrease in time, is proposed to model the life of an element haying survived its burn-in. A strongly consistent estimator and a nonparametric testing procedure are developed to locate the occurrence of the change-point of the mean residual life. Finally, some numerical simulations are employed to be an illustration as well.

  • Recently, the improvement of computer capacities and artificial intelligence ware caused to employ for prediction of residual stresses and strength evaluation. There are a lot of researches regarding the measurement and prediction of residual stresses for weldment using a neural network in the advanced countries, but in our country, a neural network as a technical part, has only been used on the possibilities of employment for welding area. Furthermore, the relationship between residual stress and process parameters using a neural network was wholly lacking. Therefore development of a new technical method for the optimized process parameters on the reduction of residual stress and applyment of real-time production line should be developed. The objectives of this paper is to measure the residual stress of butt welded specimen using strain gage sectioning method and to apply them to a neural network for prediction of residual stresses on a given process parameter. Also, the assessment of the developed system using a neural network was carried out

  • In AGPS method, user position can be obtained even in the shadow region by improving signal sensitivity. A hybrid long integration scheme employing both coherent and non-coherent integration method is commonly used in AGPS receivers. Because coherent loss increases as residual frequency become large, residual frequency should be minimized to maximize coherent integration gain. This paper presents performance analysis of residual frequency estimator using FFT in fine-time assistance AGPS method. Considering the hardware complexity and the estimation accuracy, optimal length of FFT is proposed for GPS L1 C/A signal. Signal sensitivity for estimating the residual frequency is also analysed. By field experimental results, it is found that the residual frequency can be successfully estimated using 1 second snap-shot data when GPS signal strength is larger than -150 dBm and its RMS error is 3Hz.
