Effects of Cd substitution on the superconducting properties of (Pb0.5Cu0.5-xCdx)Sr2(Ca0.7Y0.3)Cu2Oz

  • To understand the effects of Cd substitution for Cu, $(Pb_{0.5}Cu_{0.5-x}Cd_x)Sr_2(Ca_{0.7}Y_{0.3})Cu_2O_z$ (x = 0 ~ 0.5) compounds were synthesized and the structural and superconducting properties of the compounds were characterized. Resistivity data revealed that superconducting transition temperature rises initially up to x = 0.25 and then decreases as the Cd doping content increases. Room-temperature thermoelectric power decreases at first up to x = 0.25 and then increases with higher Cd doping content, indicating that the change in $T_c$ is mainly caused by the change in the hole concentration on the superconducting planes by the Cd doping. The non-monotonic dependence of the lattice parameters and the transition temperature with Cd doping content is discussed in connection with the possible formation of $Pb^{+2}$ ions and the removal of excess oxygen caused by Cd substitution in the charge reservoir layer. A correlation between transition temperature and c/a lattice parameter ratio was observed for the $(Pb_{0.5}Cu_{0.5-x}Cd_x)Sr_2(Ca_{0.7}Y_{0.3})Cu_2O_z$ system.

열전변환 장치의 특성 분석에 대한 연구 (Performance Analysis of A Variable-Spacing Cesium Thermionic Energy Converter)

  • A variable-spacing cesium thermionic energy conversion test station is designed and fabricated for the study of power generation. The diode is in the form of a guard-ringed plane-parallel geometry in which a polycrystalline rhenium emitter of 2 cmS02T area faces a radiation-cooled polycrystalline rhenium collector of 1.9 cmS02T area. The emission of plasma from heated refractory electrode metal is the driving reaction in the direct conversion of heat to electricity by thermionic energy conversion. The plasma is produced from electrons and positive ions formed simultaneously by thermionic emission and surface ionization of cesium atoms incident on the hot emitter from the cesium vapor in the diode. And high plasma density causes plasma multiplication within the gap due to volume ionization that results in high power output. The variation of the saturation current of a Knudsen converter is investigated at an emitter-collector gap of 0.1 mm and an emitter temperatures. A maximum power output of 13.47 watta/cmS02T is observed at a collector temperature of 963 K and a cesium reservoir temperature of 603 K.

  • 호우발생전의 기상상태, 유역의 저류상태 그리고 과거의 패턴을 반영한 실용성 있는 홍수 예보모형을 제안하였다. 호우 예보는 구름 물리학을 토대로한 지점 호우 예보 모형을, 유출예측은 저류함수모형을 채택하였다. 홍수 예보 모형의 입력 변수는 예보 발령 시점의 지상 기온, 지상 기압, 지상 이슬점 온도 그리고 유출점의 초기 유량이다. 홍수 예보 모형의 매개 상수는 과거의 홍수 사상이 갖는 최적 상수들의 산술평균값으로 하였다. 유출률은 홍수 초기 유량을 지표로 하여 예측될 수 있게 하였다.

  • To verify the accuracy of the numerical experiment of Part I, measurements at the matured rice canopy located around Junam reservoir were performed at August 14, 1995. According to the measured data, the foliage temperature recorded the highest value, and the ground temperature was the lowest around noon, and these results coincided with those of the numerical experiment using the combined model of Part I. From the estimation using measured data, the maximum value of the latent heat flux was 380$Wm^2$, the highest value among energy balance terms, and the energy redistribution ratio of the latent heat flux was averaged as 0.5, the highest values among redistribution ratios. These results are the same as those of the numerical experiment in tendency, but they reveals a little lower in the absolute values than those from the numerical experiment.

댐건설이 소나무의 연륜생장에 미치는 영향 (Effects of a Dam Construction on the Radial Growths of Pinus densiflora)

  • To elucidate the effects of a hydroelectric dam construction on annual ring growth of Pinus densiflora, the annual ring widths of 68 trees collected from 7 sites were closely examined. The result was analyzed to ask three special questions first, whether there are real effects of dam construction on the radial growth second, would the magnitude of the effect be different due to two periods of under-construction and post-construction the last, would it be different among age classes. Annual ring growth has been significantly enhanced by the dam construction. Specially, its effect was marked after the construction was finished and the reservoir was filled up with water. There was, however, no remarkable evidence that pine growth would be reduced while the dam was under construction, even though there was a minor decreasing trend. The magnitude of the effect was different among age groups. That is, the changed condition after the construction enhanced relatively the growth of aged trees monre. According to other meterological research since the dam was constructed, the reasons of enhancing pine growth assumed to be the increase of daily temperature, the decreased of daily temperature difference and the increased of rainy days.

  • In the present study, low-temperature low-pressure refrigerant storage method is proposed to achieve higher cooling capacity during a short period of time than that of a compressor in steady operation. Experimental apparatus was designed and set up to analyze the performance of the new-conceptual cooling system. Two reservoirs for sequential storage of refrigerant were used in the cooling system. Several on/off solenoid valves were installed for control of refrigerant flow. From the experimental results, the initial rapid cooling by low temperature low-pressure refrigerant storage method was ascertained for successful operation. This rapid cooling methodology shall be useful for other low-capacity refrigeration system.

  • 본 연구에서는 국내 비전통에너지자원인 셰일가스, 석탄층메탄가스(CBM) 및 가스하이드레이트 개발사업의 정확한 매장량을 위해 온도와 압력을 실시간으로 기록하는 DLS (Data Logging System)가 내장된 저류층 PCS (Pressure Core Sampler)를 개발하여 국산화시키고, 지하심부의 시료가 채취된 순간부터 시료의 압력을 유지함으로써 시료 내 가스의 손실 없이 시추코어를 회수하는데 있다. 저류층 PCS는 일반적인 코어 샘플러와는 달리 입구 부분에 볼밸브와 같은 개폐 장치가 있어 일정 길이의 코어 샘플이 채취되면 입구를 밀폐하여 원위치 상태의 압력이 그대로 유지되게 하는 기능을 갖고 있다. 이것은 특히 셰일가스나 석탄층메탄가스 및 가스하이드레이트와 같은 기체를 포함한 시료의 정확한 분석을 위해 아주 중요한 역할을 하게 된다. 현재 PCS 장비 및 이를 활용한 기술은 미국과 유럽 등에서 독점하고 있는 상황이다. 이에 따라 기존 PCS의 동작원리 및 메커니즘 분석과 상세설계를 수행하여 저류층PCS를 개발중이며, 성능은 PCS 최대 사용압력 100 bar, PCS 최대 사용온도 $-20{\sim}40^{\circ}C$, PCS 압력 손실율 10%를 목표로 하고 있다.

환경요인에 따른 동복호에서의 식물성플랑크톤 계절적 분포 (The Seasonal Distribution of Phytoplankton by Environmental Factors in Dongbok Reservoir)

  • The taxa of phytoplankton in the Dongbok reservoir consisted of 6 classes, 9 orders, 4 4 suborders, 21 families, 42 genus, 86 species, 4 varieties and 1 formula; totally 91 t taxa appeared. It contained 3 major groups that is Chlorophyceae 51 taxa(56.0 % the most high rate), Bacillariophyceae 23taxa(25.2%), Cyanophyceae 10taxa(10.9%). The most abundant with 47 taxa was in December, the least with 11 taxa was in March during research every month. The component ratio of biomass each main groups, Bacillariophyceae(51 %, the most h high rate), Cyanophyceae(38.9%), Chlorophyceae(9.8%). The most abundant class at the biomass component ratio were Cyanophyceae which contained 82.6-98.0 % of it in May and September, Chlorophyceae 79.0% in August, and Bacillariophyceae increased continuously, specially in winter and autumn. The seasonal dominant groups were Microcystis aemginosa belong to Cyanophyceae in spring and autumn, some species of Chlorophyceae in summer and Melosira granulata belong to Bacillariophyceae in winter and late autumn. Dominant index ranged from 0.33 to 0.95. The season of the lowest index was autumn and the highest was spring. Species diversity indices ranged from 1.09 to 3.99. The water environmental factors of the Dongbok reservoir were that the values of water temperature ranged between $2.4~28.9^{\circ}C$, pH 7.2~8.3, conductivity 77.0~105.5us/cm, and transparency 1.2~2.8m, also the concentration of dissolved oxygen(DO) ranged of 6.9-14.6mg/L, total nitrogen(T-N) 0.38-1.84mg/L, total phosphorus (T-P) 0.011~0.028mg/L, and chlorophyll-a $7.0~29.9mg/m^3$. In this research the proper temperature of water for algae growth, $15~20^{\circ}C$, was maintained in April. May, November and December 1 The number of species that induced water color were 14 species, that caused taste-and-odor problems were 3 species and that caused filter clogging were 5 species. A Among them, the bloom of Anahaena macrospora that caused odor problem occurred l in May and of Microcystis aeruRinosa and M. lνensenberRii that caused filter clogging in May and September.

강우기 및 비강우기 경안천 수체흐름에 의한 팔당호 수질변동 비교 평가 (Water Quality Fluctuation Study of Paldang Reservoir Affected by Gyeongan Stream Inflow according to Rainfall)

  • 경안천 유입부(G 1)부터 팔당댐 앞 (P)까지의 2002년도 수질변동을 팔당호 전체 수질분포및 강우시기 등과 연동하여 평가하였다. 연평균 COD, 총인 및 총질소 농도는 경안천 유입부에서 댐 쪽으로 갈수록 농도가 크게 낮아지는 것으로 나타나, 경안천 유입하천의 높은 오염도가 직접 댐 앞 수질에 미치는 영향은 크지 않은 것으로 판단되었다. 조사시기 및 지점별 COD, 총인 및 총질소 농도는 강우기 (8, 9월)가 다른 조사시기에 비해 지점 간 차이가 적고, 초기농도도 상대적으로 낮았다. 클로로필 a 농도는 강우기 이후(10 ${\sim}$ 12월)보다는 이전(3${\sim}$6월)에 각 지점별 농도차이가 큰 것으로 나타났다. 팔당호 전체 수질분포에서, 북한강 유입수역 수온은 다른 수역에 비해 8월은 낮고 11월에는 높게 나타났다. COD와 SS농도는 강우기에는 각 수역별로 비교적 큰 농도차이를 보였으나 11월에는 큰 차이를 보이지 않았고, 농도도 낮았다. 4월 높았던 클로로필 a 농도는 강우기에는 현저하게 낮은 농도를 보였다. 4월에는 비교적 수심이 낮은 경안천 유입수역에서도 8월 및 11월에 비해 표층과 심층간의 수온 차가 크게 나타났다. 댐 앞 지점 SS농도는 4월에 표층에서 높고 8월에는 심층에서 높았다. 또한 COD, 총인, 총질소 농도는 8월이 4월에 비해 상 ${\cdot}$ 하층이 비교적 잘 혼합되고, 현저하게 낮은 농도를 보였으며, 11월에도 낮은 농도를 유지하고 있는 것으로 볼 때, 팔당호에서 수질관리에 집중해야 될 시기는 여름가을보다는 봄여름기간 중인 것으로 판단되었다.

동절기 댐저수지 수색변동에 영향을 미치는 인자 및 원인물질 분석 (Analysis of Origin Matter of Blackish Water in Dam Reservoir During Winter)

  • This study has been conducted to assess blackish-water phenomena in Dam reservoir. To searching for the reason, we survey physical changes in reservoir and analyze metal and organic content in particulate materials and water. The blackish-water phenomena in lake A are occurred with turbidity increases in turnover season irregularly. It was reported on 6 Jan. 2005 weakly and the water column mixed with 35~40m depth and water temperature shows $7^{\circ}C$. The turbidity of AD and AM site increased up to 20NTU. Especially, AN site shows 27NTU, such a result makes that Dam manager conclude it to blackish-water phenomena. The results of sequential extraction analysis show that over 80% of Al, Cr and Fe is existed in residual form in sediment. On the other hand, the most part of Mn shows exchangeable and carbonates form, which have a good possibility of release to water column. Mn contents in pore waters of the sediment samples are also found to be ~4 times higher than Fe contents. The metal contents in pore water of different dam sites are in order of AN (Fe: 9.98, Mn: 40.6) > AD(8.33, 37.5) > DD(1.91, 2.55). According to the results of extracted organic materials from sediment, humic substances is occupied with over 85% in total organic carbon including 23~45% of humic acid (HA) and 0.9~8.5% of fulvic acid (FA). However, HA content in pore water is not detectable while FA contents, acid-soluble humic fractions is higher than that of sediment(10~15%). which indicating that FA is a main humic components affecting water color. The color unit per DOC of FA in pore waters of different dam sites are found to be higher in lake A than lake D. From the results, it could be suggested that blackish-water phenomena of lake A are mainly arise from higher concentration of Mn and water soluble organic fractions (e.g., FA) released from sediments as well as the strength of turnover in Dam reservoir.
