전작.원예단지 조성을 위한 새만금 인근 주요 저수지의 수질조사 및 용수이용 가능성 연구 (Investigation of Water Quality and Irrigation Water Use Possibility of Reservoirs Near Saemangeum for Upland and Horticultural Fields)

  • This study was carried out to investigate of water quality and irrigation water use possibility of reservoirs near Saemangeum for upland and horticultural fields. Water samples were taken at 6 reservoirs for 5 months from June, 2006 to November, 2006. The water temperature, pH, EC, EC, chlorophyll - a of 6 reservoirs were ranged 8.7-$31.2^circC$, 6.9-9.2, 73.0-637.0$\mu$S/cm, 0.9-443.2mg/$m^3$, respectively. The concentration of DO, BOD, COD, T-N, T-P and SS were ranged 5.7-11.7mg/L, 0.5-8.9mg/L, 2.9-18.0mg/L, 0.07-6.52mg/L, 0.002-0.406mg/L, 0.5-54.0mg/L Also, storage ratio and storage capacity of Mije reservoir, Okgu reservoir, Oknyeo reservoir, Neungje reservoir were decreased between June and April, but those of Oksan reservoir was kept high during irrigation period. Water supply of reservoirs was 4,474,100$m^3$(Oksan), 6,165,900$m^3$(Mije), 13,209,900$m^3$(Okgu), 4,675,600$m^3$(Oknyeo), 7,682,000$m^3$(Neungje), 19,231,000$m^3$(Cheongho) in 2006, respectively. It is resevoirs for upland and horticultural fields that use main irrigation water resources before Saemanguem fresh-water lake development, and use assistance irrigation water resources in emergency after Saemanguem fresh-water lake development. In the meantime, for continuous use of reservoir as irrigation water resource for upland and horticultural fields, we must examine about surplus water capacity, and need investigation about supply possibility of irrigation water, condition of irrigation water, water quality.

CE-QUAL-W2 모델을 이용한 임하호 선택배제시설의 효과분석 (Assessment of Selective Withdrawal Facility in the Imha Reservoir Using CE-QUAL-W2 Model)

  • For efficient turbid water withdrawal in the Imha reservoir, a selective withdrawal facility was recently installed and operated during summer season of year 2006. In this research, CE-QUAL-W2 model was utilized to assess the efficiency of the selective withdrawal facility, in comparison with the original surface withdrawal, on turbid water management. Model calibration was carried out using data observed at four automatic monitoring stations in the reservoir. It was found that the model appropriately simulated, with the RMSE less than 5.2 NTU, the observed vertical and horizontal distributions of water temperature and turbidity as well as the location of maximum turbid water at each monitoring station. The analysis results showed that selective withdrawal is more effective in removing high turbid water than surface withdrawal as selective withdrawal contributed to reducing $35Mm^3$ of high turbidity water (> 100 NTU) in the reservoir by increasing outflows of high turbid water. Therefore, effective management of turbid water in the reservoir can be achieved by changing locations of intake depending on turbid water distribution conditions. The results of this study will provide some basic information for establishing better operation strategies to cope with turbid water problems.

낙동강 구미 보의 수면 열수지 계절 변화 (Seasonal Variation of the Surface Heat Budget in the Gumi Reservoir of Nakdong River)

  • The heat budget is investigated in the Gumi Reservoir of the Nakdong river. In warm climate season, solar radiation effects play a important role in the change of water temperature. The features of the surface heat balance are almost derived by the latent heat flux and the solar radiation flux. On the other hand, in cold climate season, change of heat stored in the water is mainly dominated by latent and sensible heat transfer between water and air, since flux of solar radiation and loss of outgoing long wave radiation balance approximately. For the annual averages, net flux of radiation, evaporation(latent heat) loss are dominant in the Gumi reservoir. The evaporation losses are dominant from spring to early winter. This means that the Gumi reservoir rolls like a lake of thermal medium or deep depth.

수중음향기법을 이용한 용담호의 어류 분포특성 연구 (Hydroacoustic Survey of Fish Distribution and Aggregation Characteristics in the Yongdam Reservoir, Korea)

  • Hydroacoustic surveys were conducted for spatio-temporal distribution and size estimation of fish in the Yongdam reservoir, Korea, from April to July 2014. Acoustic data were collected along acoustic transects using a 120 kHz scientific echosounder. The received acoustic data were the in situ acoustic target strength (dB) and nautical area scattering coefficient ($m^2/mile^2$). Data on fish behavioral patterns and size were collected using a DIDSON acoustic camera at stationary stations. Fish were mainly distributed in the center channel and close to the outer Yongdam reservoir. Acoustic density of fish in the summer season were higher than in the spring season. The seasonal vertical distribution pattern of fish aggregations may be strongly related to the vertical temperature structure. The size distribution of fish obtained from an acoustic camera correlated well with the acoustic size of fish from an echosounder.

Analysis of Time Variations in Relative Humidity around a Water Area Using Bowen Ratio

  • The time variations in relative humidity observed at the Gangjeong (Goryeong) Reservoir in the Nakdong River over a one-year period (September 2012-August 2013) were analyzed with the Bowen ratio. The thermal vertical scale of the reservoir was also evaluated following Yamamoto's method. The study's results showed that the relative humidity at the reservoir was higher than that of the Daegu Meteorological Observatory (inland) all year round. The difference was slightly larger at nighttime (17-20 %) than at daytime (13-15 %) in all seasons except summer. The quantitative order of latent heat flux was summer, spring, autumn, and winter. This finding signifies that the thermal vertical scale of the reservoir corresponds to that of a shallow lake. The Bowen ratio was smallest at midday of the summer season. In other words, the net radiation energy was converted more as latent heat flux than sensible heat flux during a higher temperature period.

ELCOM-CAEDYM을 이용한 용담호 3차원 수리-수질 연동 모델링 (A Coupled Three-Dimensional Hydrodynamic and Water Quality Modeling of Yongdam Reservoir using ELCOM-CAEDYM)

  • The study was aimed to evaluate the applicability of a three-dimensional (3D) hydrodynamic and water quality model, ELCOM-CAEDYM for Yongdam Reservoir, Korea. The model was applied for the simulations of hydrodynamics, thermal stratification processes, stream density flow propagation, and water quality parameters including dissolved oxygen, nutrients, organic materials, and algal biomass (chl-a) for the period of June to December, 2006. The field data observed at four monitoring stations (ST1~ST4) within the reservoir were used to validate the models performance. The model showed reasonable performance nevertheless low frequency boundary forcing data were provided, and well replicated the physical, chemical, and biological processes of the system. Simulated spatial and temporal variations of water temperature, nutrients, and chl-a concentrations were moderately consistent with the field observations. In particular, the model rationally reproduced the succession of different algal species; i.e., diatom dominant during spring and early summer, after then cyanobacteria dominant under warm and stratified conditions. ELCOM-CAEDYM is recommendable as a suitable coupled 3D hydrodynamic and water quality model that can be effectively used for the advanced water quality management of large stratified reservoirs in Korea.

소양호와 팔당호 수질의 수직 및 계절적 변화 (Changes of Seasonal and Vertical Water Quality in Soyang and Paldang River-reservoir System, Korea)

  • 소양호와 팔당호에 대한 한강수질검사소(1996${\sim}$1998)와 환경부(1990${\sim}$1997), 그리고 건설교통부(1996${\sim}$1998)자료를 인용하여 수문학적 특성에 따른 소양호와 팔당호의 수질특성 및 계절적 변화양상을 비교${\cdot}$분석하였다. 소양호에서는 수온차에 의한 뚜렷한 성층현상이 관찰되었다. 춘계와 하계에 관찰된 좁은 폭의 표층은 추계로 갈수록 점차 넓어진 반면 중층의 폭은 좁아지는 경향을 보였으며 심층은 연중 수온이 $5^{\circ}C$내외로 거의 변동을 보이지 않았다. 춘계와 하계에는 표층에서 용존산소의과포화가 관찰되었고, 추계로 들어가면서 표층과 중층의 용존산소 포화도는 약 75%까지, 심층은 45${\sim}$55%까지 감소하였으며 빈산소 수괴가 시간의 흐름에 따라 심층으로 이동하는 현상이 관찰되었다. 우기동안에는 중층에서 약 $50\;{\mu}S/cm$의 가장 낮은 전기전도도를 갖는 수괴가 분포하고 있음이 관찰되었다. 팔당호에서 수심별 수은의 분포는 연도별, 계절별 구분 없이 비교적 잘 혼합된 수괴의 특성이 관찰되었으나$5{\sim}9$월에는 상${\cdot}$하층이 약 $5^{\circ}C$내외의 수온차이를 나타냈다. 용존산소포화도는 연중 90% 이상으로 소양호에 비해 높은 산소포화도가 관찰되었다. 초여름부터 초가을까지 표층에서는 과포화가, 심층에서는 60%정도까지 낮은 포화도가 관찰되었다. 늦은 봄부터 초가을 (우기)의전기전도도는 수심 $4{\sim}5\;m$ 이하의 수층에서 $90\;{\mu}S/cm$정도까지 감소하여 표층보다 낮은 값을 보였다. 그러나,늦은 가을부터 초봄까지의 전기전도도는 약 $10^{\circ}Cm$깊이까지 표층이 심층보다 낮게 관찰되었다. 소양호의 체류시간은 평균 245일로, 팔당호의 평균 5.1일과 큰 차이를 보였으나, 팔당호는 소양호보다 클로로필 3농도는 약 2.7배, 총 질소 농도는 약 1.2배 그리고 총 인 농도는 약 2.6배 높았다. 따라서 영양염류 농도가 체류시간보다 조류증식에 더 기여한 것으로 판단된다.

유입하천 밀도와 계절별 수온을 고려한 팔당호 성층 해석 (Stratified features in Paldang lake considering induced density currents and seasonal thermal effect)

  • 팔당호 취수장은 수도권 주민에게 상수원을 공급하는 주요 취수장으로, 상수원의 수질 관리를 위해 국가 차원에서 노력을 기울이고 있다. 팔당댐 취수장 인근의 수심이 가장 깊은 지역은 여름철에 연직 방향으로 성층이 발견되는데, 성층의 원인이 밀도류에 의한 것인지 여름철 기온에 의한 것인지 명확하게 분류하기 어려운 실정이다. 본 연구에서는 팔당호 주요 지점의 연직 수질 측정을 통해 밀도류에 의한 성층과 기온에 의한 성층을 분류하고, 발생 원인을 분석하였다. 연구 결과로는 밀도류와 기온에 의한 성층을 구분하였으며, 밀도류의 형성은 유입 하천 간 수온 차이에서 기인하는 것으로 확인되었지만, 밀도류의 지속 거리는 유속에 크게 의존하는 것으로 나타났다. 또한, 갈수기와 풍수기 혼합 특성을 기반으로 하천형과 호소형 특성을 가진 지역으로 팔당호를 분류하였다.

철원북방 DMZ내의 중영양호 토교저수지의 생태학적 연구 V. 경안천(팔당호)과 토교저수지에서 식물플랑크톤의 크기별 현존량과 Chlorophyll $\alpha$의 계절 변동 (Ecological studies on Togyo Reservoir in Chulwon, Korea. V. Seasonal Changes of Size-Fractionated Standing Crops and Chlorophyll a of Phytoplankton in Kyungan Stream of Paldang River-Reservoir Systems and Togyo Reservoir, Korea)

  • 오염부하량이 높은 경안천과 오염부하량이 낮은 철원북방 비무장지대내 토교저수지에서 식물플랑크톤의 크기별 현존량과 chlorophyll a농도에 대한 계절적 변화 및 환경요인과의 상호관계를 조사하였다. 또한 식물 플랑크톤의 크기를 고려하여 > $8\mu{m},\;3-8\mu{m},\;<3\mu{m}$ 세포 크기별로 분획하여 현존량과 chl. a 농도를 관찰하였다. 물리.화학적 환경요인은 경안천이 토교저수지보다 높게 나타났다. 식물플랑크톤 현존량은 경안천에서 10배 정도 높았으나 크기별 chl. a의 농도는 두 지점 모두 소형 플랑크톤에서 높은 농도를 보였다. 경안천 식물플랑크톤의 현존량은 대부분 미세형이었지만 chl. a는 부분적으로 극소형 이 우위를 차지하였다. 반면, 토교저수지에서는 현존량은 소형과 미세형이, chl. a는 소형에서 높이 분포하였다. 따라서 영양염 및 물리적 조건이 서로 상이한 수계에서의 식물플랑크톤의 분포는 출현종의 크기를 결정하기도하고 출현종의 특성에 따라 현존량과 chl. a의 불균형적 특성을 유도한다.
