Bibliometric Services Types and Cases in Foreign Countries (해외 계량서지 서비스 유형 및 사례 분석 연구)

  • This study aims to investigate bibliometric services practices of foreign libraries by service types and suggest practical considerations for Korean libraries wishing to implement bibliometric services. Through the examination of previous research and library websites, nine types of bibliometric services were identified under two broad categories - education & consulting services and research evaluation & research trend services. According to the service types, a wide range of bibliometric services activities were analyzed and described. Recommendations from the study for service development include: building an institutional repository for scholarly output; developing subject guides and education programs at the initial phase of service and providing more advanced services such as consulting and analysis services at the later phase; identifying the potential service needs of researcher groups.

Effects of different covering material on stable winter survival management with edible leaf in ramie (Boehmeria nivea L.).

  • This study was to evaluate methods to high quality food ramie rice cake, thereby increasing farm income. This study investigated the effects of different covering material on stable winter survival management with edible leaf in Ramie(Boehmeria nivea L.). The method of winter survival with covering material were conducted under three condition compose to Non covering, Rice straw cutting covered with 500kg.10a-1, Rice husks covered with 1,000kg.10a-1(covered 4~5 cm thickness in the soil surface). Method of application were standard application(N-P-K-Compost applied at 27-9-27-600kg.10a-1. Compost and fused phosphate applied at 100% of basal fertilizer in March 25. 20% of top dressing were four times application in March 25 - October 5. Planting year were March 15, 2011. Plants were spaced 60 cm apart in rows 25 cm apart with open cultivation. According to non covering < Rice husks covered with 1,000kg.10a-1 < Rice straw cutting covered with 500kg.10a-1 cultivation this order, aerial part as a result were plenty amount of growth. Sprout time and winter survival rates was uncovering control plot compared to 2 - 5 days quickly, 45-57% highly by rice husks and rice straw covering. Green leaf yields is untreated control plot (12,44 kg.10a-1) compared to rice husks covering 7% higher, and rice straw covering increased to 18% of the most.

Research on Service Development Plans for the National Center for Medical Information and Knowledge: Comparison and analysis with the U.S. National Library of Medicine (국립의과학지식센터 서비스 발전 방안을 위한 연구 - 미국 국립의학도서관과의 비교·분석을 통해 -)

  • This study was conducted with the purpose of providing suggestions for improvement through a comparison and analysis of the services of the U.S. National Library of Medicine, the world's largest medical library, and the National Center for Medical Information and Knowledge, Korea's national medical library. Core services that need to be improved are topic-specific services, community services, services by user type, educational services, technology, facility/space services, research support services, and marketing and public relations and cooperation services. Specialized libraries are also increasingly interested in topic-specific services and public services. Efficiency in access through services for each type of user is needed, and various types of educational services that do not limit the target audience are also needed. Marketing through AI, virtual reality, and technology, facility, and space services to support the disabled, research support services centered on research ethics, research grants, and programs, and collaborative services with domestic and international libraries, academic societies, institutions, and local communities in other related fields and publicity are also needed.
