This research was intended to understand the degree of variety in elderly women by was of classifying the type of clothing purchase's according to the degree of anxiety when they buy clothes. Samples were 285 elderly women who are aged over 55 dwelling in Busan Meropolitan city and this research is made available by the method of the questionnaire interview. The data was analyzed using reliability ANOVA regression Scheffe Test and correlation. The results of the study were the followings 1. The most important factors in the type of clothing purchase's of elder women are the styles disparity of age is represented similarly except the styles of a Brand Loyal tat ranked highest were among the age group 60-64. 2, The factor of difference in clothing purchase's according to degree of education are Brand loyal Cautious Impulsive Ecologists and Experimenters and the style of clothes buying according to activity of leisure are Brand Loyal and conformists. The factor of difference in clothing buying according to shopping companion are Planners Experiments Conformists Impulsive and Persuasible and the item represents difference according to payer for clothing marked all style of clothes buying and similarity except Impulsive and Style-Conscious, 3, The highly correlated item in the degree of education and activity of leisure in the context of the correlated item concerning about shopping companion and payer for clothes are Experimenters impulsive and Ecologists. The colthing anxiey which is highly related is the degree of education and the activity of leisure and the anxiety in masterial colour and self-harmony and the anxiety of colthing purchase's which is highly correlated in clothing purchase's companion and payer for clothin proved the priceand the anxiety of decision-making 4. Economy-Minded Experimenters Impulsive Planners and Style-Conscious represents all of the difference in all items in clothing purchase's Conformists represents anxiety to all items except the anxiety in clothing administration, Cautious and Ecologists represents the differences only for the anxiety in clothing administration,. But Brand-Loyal and Persuasible feels no anxiety in clothing purchase. 5. The most explicable independent variable based upon the analysis of regression in anxiety of colthing purchase is Economy-Minded and the next is Conformist Experiments Planners Style-Conscious Impulsive and so on.
Animal experiments have been widely conducted in the life sciences for more than a century, and have long been a subject of ethical and societal controversy due to the deliberate infliction of harm upon sentient animals. However, the harmful use of animals may also negatively impact the mental health of researchers themselves. We sought to evaluate the anxiety level of researchers engaged in animal use to analyse the mental stress from animal testing. The State Anxiety Scale of the State-Trait Anxiety Inventory (STAI) was used to evaluate how researchers feel when they conduct animal, as opposed to non-animal, based experiments (95 non-animal and 98 animal testing researchers). The Trait Anxiety Scale of STAI was employed to measure proneness to anxiety, namely the base trait of the researchers. Additionally, the information on sex, age, education, income, and total working periods was collected. While the Trait Anxiety scores were comparable ($41.5{\pm}10.9$ versus $42.9{\pm}10.1$, p = 0.3682, t-test), the State Anxiety scores were statistically significantly higher for animal users than non-animal users ($45.1{\pm}10.7$ versus $41.3{\pm}9.4$, p = 0.011). This trend was consistent for both male and female. Notably, younger animal testers (${\leq}30$ years of age) with less work experience (${\leq}2$ years) and lower income level (${\leq}27,000$ USD) exhibited higher anxiety scores, whereas these factors did not affect the anxiety level of non-animal users. The present study demonstrated that participation in animal experiments can negatively impact the mental health of researchers.
Objective : Emotional state and emotion regulation strategies are considered to be important factors influencing the pattern and severity of somatic pain. The aim of this study is to investigate the relationship between cognitive emotional regulation strategies and somatic pain in patients with depression and/or anxiety disorders. Methods : A total of 140 outpatients, diagnosed with depression and/or anxiety disorders according to DSM-IV-TR, were evaluated using the Beck Depression Inventory (BDI), the State-Trait Anxiety Inventory (STAI), the Cognitive Emotion Regulation Questionnaire (CERQ), and the Numerical Rating Scale (NRS) for somatic pain. Pearson correlations and independent t-tests were performed to analyze the relationship between somatic pain, the severity of depression and/or anxiety and cognitive emotion regulation strategies. Results : The severity of pain was significantly correlated with depressive symptoms, but not with anxiety. Patients with somatic pain tend to use maladaptive cognitive emotion regulating strategies more frequently, especially rumination and catastrophizing. Conclusion : These findings suggest that somatic pain correlates with maladaptive cognitive emotional regulating strategies. Interventions which modulate these non-productive strategies, especially rumination and catastrophizing, would be a new approach for managing patients with depressive and/or anxiety disorders who are suffering from somatic pain.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine the effectiveness of non-pharmacological interventions for reducing perioperative anxiety in children undergoing surgery. Methods: A systematic review of randomized controlled trials (RCTs) with the primary outcome of children's perioperative anxiety was conducted. The literature search was performed using various databases, including Cochrane Library, CINAHL, EMBASE, PubMed, and Korean electronic databases with confined to RCTs between 2000 and 2020. A total of sixteen studies were suitable the inclusion criteria and were systematically reviewed. The bias risk of randomized studies was evaluated using Cochrane's risk of bias tool. For the meta-analysis, RevMan 5.4 was used to analyze effect sizes of interventional factors. Results: Finally, twelve RCTs studies were used for meta-analysis. The non-pharmacological interventions implemented to reduce perioperative anxiety in children were therapeutic play, clown therapy and information provision. First, therapeutic play had a significant effect on reducing preoperative anxiety, with an effect size of -1.46 (95% CI=-1.78~-1.14). Second, clown therapy had a significant effect on reducing preoperative anxiety, with an effect size of -0.97 (95% CI=-1.45~-0.49). Finally, the provision of information had a significant effect on reducing preoperative anxiety, with an effect size of -0.75 (95% CI=-0.99~-0.51). Conclusion: This meta-analysis suggests that non-pharmaceutical interventions provide effective methods of reducing perioperative anxiety in children. Therefore, the findings verify evidence that various non-pharmacological interventions are effective means for reducing children's preoperative anxiety.

This study was performed to figure out the level of anxiety and relating factors of ICU patients as the hospitalization in ICU grows more recently. Data collection was conducted from July 1st to August 31st, 2001. The subjects of this study were consisted of 101 ICU patients who were selected according to the criteria in S hospital, C city. The instruments of the research were consisted of 14 questions of general characteristics, 20 items of STAI, VAS, 24 questions for the anxiety relating factors. And data were analyzed by t-test, ANOVA, and pearson correlation for group difference and correlation with SPSS Win 10.0 program. The followings were the results of the study: 1. In the anxiety level, mean score on STAI was 53.7(item mean $2.69{\pm}.83$), and mean score on VAS was 5.23. It means that the anxiety level of ICU patients was moderate. 2. Among the relating factors of anxiety, the most highest scores were 'by seeing other patient's emergency situation' and 'by seeing other patient's death' figured 3.85 and 3.79 each. And the lowest marks were 'by the unkind behavior of doctors and nurses'(2.13) and 'nurses' or doctors' indifferent actions'(2.21). And the anxiety according to the environmental factor was the highest (3.17) and the anxiety regarding to the human relationship was the lowest (2.53). 3. In the anxiety level STAI according to the general characteristics, the patients who didn't have to take care of their family showed more anxiety than who had to take care of their family(t=-2.38, p=.02). And the variables that shows a significant difference on VAS was sex and women's anxiety was higher than men's level (t=-2.56, p=.01). 4. When the physical anxiety level was compared, the patients who had to take care of their family showed more anxiety than the people who didn't have to take care of their family(t=-1.95, p=.05). In the level of anxiety relating the human relationship, the patients who had religion showed more anxiety than patients who didn't(t=2.43 p=.02). And the married patients(t=2.43, p=.01) and more educated people(F=3.77, p=.01) showed more anxiety. Even though environmental anxiety was the highest factor, it was not significant with general characteristics. 5. The anxiety and relating factors showed positive significant relationship, and physical anxiety factor showed the strongest relation with STAI(r=.21, p<.01). And VAS level showed stronger relation with every factor of the anxiety than STAI. When the VAS level became higher, the anxiety relating to physical factor(r=.72, p<.01), human relationship(r=.63, P<.01), and environment became higher. According to the above result, the environmental anxiety was the highest level than other factors in ICU patient and thus the environmental nursing intervention becomes very important in ICU. Also nurses in ICU have to support the patients who showed higher level of anxiety in this study and try to develop the nursing intervention to relieve the anxiety of patients. And it is recommended that VAS is convenient and practical instrument for measuring the anxiety level in ICU patients.
PURPOSE: The purpose of this study was to explore dental hygiene treatment fear and anxiety in dental patients. METHODS: The sample consisted of 466 dental patients who had received the dental hygiene treatment at 8 Dental Hospitals and Clinics in Daegu city between March and August 2006 studied. Dental hygienists recruited a questionnaire, which includes generalized anxiety sub-scale(4 items), specific fear sub-scale(5 items), distrust sub-scale(5 items), and catastrophic anxiety sub-scale(4 items). Minimum score is 1, and maximum score is 5. The research was designed to be a cross-sectional measured study. SAS statistical software was used for the analysis. The characteristics of the study sample were described by mean and standard deviation(SD) for continuous variables and by frequency and percentage for categorical variables. The Student's t-test and analysis of variance(ANOVA) were used to compare fear and anxiety score in demographic variables. A Pearson's correlation analysis was conducted for relationship among values of fear and anxiety for dental hygiene. Multiple regression analysis was performed to determine the factors associated with fear and anxiety related with dental hygiene. RESULTS: A total of 466 dental patients were analyzed, their average age${\pm}$SD was $37.7{\pm}12.9$ years(range: 15-79 yr). The mean value for dental hygiene fear and anxiety was 2.70(generalized anxiety 2.65, specific fear 2.93, distrust anxiety 2.72, and catastrophic anxiety 2.42, respectively). There was a statistically significant difference in gender(p<0.05), 2.81 for women was higher than 2.55 for men(p=.0000). The older we are, the higher fear and anxiety for dental hygiene treatment were. that is, under age of 20 years 2.49, 20 years 2.59, 30 years 2.69, 40 years 2.77, 50 years 2.88, 60 years 2.69, and over age of 70 2.45, respectively(p=.0321). Factors related to dental hygiene treatment fear and anxiety by multiple regressions were gender(${\square}$=0.18, p=0.0001), age(${\square}$=.07, p=.0058), and the time when visits dentist recently(${\square}$=.07, p=.0058). CONCLUSIONS: In conclusion, gender, age and the time when visits dentist recently were significantly associated with dental hygiene treatment fear and anxiety. We recommend that further research should investigate a dental hygiene treatment fear and anxiety by using more follow-up study.

This study examined consumers' perceived anxiety regarding how safe the clothing and lifestyle products are as well as influencing factors. Data was collected using a self-ministered online survey of 1,126 adult consumers. The results of this study showed that consumer anxiety about chemicals and hygiene product safety had a greater impact on the anxiety perception of general safety than clothing and beauty products. It was confirmed that the reliability of information source (government agency, mass media, expert group, and internet community/blog) varies depending on the level of consumers' overall safety anxiety. The study also found the effect of consumers' subjective perception of health on safety anxiety about clothing and lifestyle products. Further, the moderating effect of age in the research model was confirmed. This result can be a useful guide to marketing communication for developing consumer safety-related policies to reduce consumer anxiety. The information will also help consumers make informed decisions that lead to safe and sustainable consumption.
We isolated Lactobacillus mucosae NK41 and Bifidobacterium longum NK46 from human feces, which induced BDNF expression in corticosterone-stimulated SH-SY5Y cells, and examined their anti-depressive effects in mice. NK41, NK46, and their (1:1) mixture significantly mitigated immobilization stress (IS)-induced anxiety-like/depressive behaviors, hippocampal $NF-{\kappa}B$ activation, BDNF expression, $Iba1^+$ cell population, and blood corticosterone, $TNF-{\alpha}$, IL-6, and lipopolysaccharide levels. Furthermore, they inhibited colitis marker $NF-{\kappa}B$ activation, and $TNF-{\alpha}$ expression in mice with IS-induced anxiety/depression. They additionally suppressed gut Proteobacteria and Bacteroidetes populations and bacterial lipopolysaccharide production. These findings suggest that NK41 and NK46 may alleviate anxiety/depression and colitis by suppressing gut dysbiosis.

Operation usually brings about psychological stress as well as physical stress to the patient and it greatly influences the maintenance of the homeostasis. Until now, most of the nursing research concerning the anxiety of the patient undergoing an operation has been done while the patient was under general anesthesia. Under local anesthesia, the anxiety of the patient who undergone operation is short. However, there is much demand of the operational nurses to mediate between the patient who is undergoing operation when fully conscious, as they are aware of the patient's anxiety and to decrease the patient's anxiety of this local anesthesia. Therefore, this research tries to verify the effects of the Hand-holding program on the anxiety of the operational patient undergoing local anesthesia and affirms the role of the nursing intervention. As an unequivalent control group non-synchronized designs, this research selects out 20 control groups and 21 experimental groups at random who have received cataract operation while under local anesthesia and after implementing the Hand-holding program to the experimental groups while undergoing the operation, the effect of the experiment was observed. By observing the Epinephrine, Cortisol, blood pressure, and pulse for the physical indexes before and after the enforcement of the hand-holding, and using the measurement of Speilberger(1972) for the psychological indicators for the anxiety of the patient before and after hand-holding, the results were analyzed through SAS program. As a results, intervention of hand-holding had a remarkable effect to decrease the anxiety felt by the patient and the diastolic blood pressure also was effectively decreased. On the other hand, through the decrease of the systolic blood pressure was also observed, it was not statistically significant. In the Epinephrine and Cortisol indicators, the intervention of hand-holding was revealed to have an insignificant effect. The Hand-holding was revealed to have an indicators, the intervention of Hand-holding was revealed to have an insignificant effect. The Hand-holding program may be said to have an effect which decreases the psychological anxiety of the patient undergoing local anesthesia.
Purpose: The aim of this study were to examine the effects of abdominal breathing on preoperative anxiety and blood pressure. Methods: The research was a non-equivalent control group pretest-posttest design. The subjects were 60 patients that operated on under local anesthetic. Thirty subjects in the experimental group and 30 subjects in the control group. Data on anxiety and blood pressure for this study were collected from them. The collected data were analyzed by t-test, $X^2$-test, paird t-test. Results: After abdominal breathing, there was a statistically significant decline in the psychological anxiety level of the experimental group. With regard to the physical anxiety level, no statistically significant drop was detected in blood pressure. Conclusion: The findings of the study confirmed that abdominal breathing reduced preoperative anxiety of upper and lower limbs surgical patients.
