In many other buildings, hospital is very important because of its function and purpose. A proper building service systems including heating, cooling, ventilation and plumbing systems is required in hospial. Besides, a special systems like medical gas, vacuum cleaning systems are required to prevent contamination as well as cure a patient in hospital. Ventilation is very important method to keep the indoor pressure and clean class. There are some specific rooms to consider clean class and indoor pressure in the general hospital. In this article, specific rooms were set to operating room, laboratory, ICU, isolation unit, and sterilizer room. In this case study, design factors of ventilation system, including air changes of OA and TA, indoor pressure, clean class, filter, and material of system, of specific rooms in hospital were proposed through a literature research and a design examples review.

The porpose in this study is to simulate te force required in the measurement of the performance of the equipments or testipieces. For the simulation of the required force, the difference in eachchamber pressure in the hydraulic cylinder was controlled with Variable Structure Control (VSC) theory. Also, nonlinear Variable Structure Observer (VSO) was designed to estimate the derivative of the load pressure which is necessary to determine the sliding surface in VSC theory. In this paper, the digital computer simulation and experiments were executed.
A safety vent is crucial to protect its user from unpredictable explosions caused by increasing internal pressure of the lithium-ion batteries. In order to prevent the explosion of the battery, a safety vent rupture is required when the internal pressure reaches a critical value. In conventional manufacturing, the cap plate and the safety vent are fabricated separately and subsequently welded to each other. In the current study, a manufacturing process including a backward extrusion and coining process is suggested to produce an integral safety vent which also has the benefit of increasing production efficiency. FE simulations were conducted to predict the rupture pressure and to design the safety vent using a ductile fracture criterion and the element deletion method. The critical value, C, in the ductile fracture criterion was obtained from uniaxial tensile tests with an annealed sheet of 1050-H14 aluminum alloy. Rupture tests were preformed to measure the rupture pressure of the safety vent. The results met the required rupture pressure within 8.5±0.5 kgf/cm2. The simulation results were compared with experimental results, which showed that the predicted rupture pressures are in good agreement with experimentally measured ones with a maximum error of only 3.9%.
The pressure tube is a major component of the CANDU reactor, which supports nuclear fuel bundle and it's containment vessel. If a flaw is found during the periodic inspection from the pressure tubes, the integrity evaluation must be carried out, and the safety requirements must be satisfied for continued service. In order to complete the integrity evaluation, complicated and iterative calculation procedures are required. Besides, a lot of data and knowledge for the evaluation are required for the entire integrity evaluation process. For this reason, an integrity evaluation system, which provides efficient way of evaluation with the help of attached databases, was developed. The developed system was built on the basis of ASME Sec. XI and FFSG(Fitness For Service Guidelines for zirconium alloy pressure tubes in operating CANDU reactors) issued by the AECL, and covers the delayed hydride cracking(DHC). Various analysis methods are provided for the integrity evaluation of pressure tube. In order to verify the developed system, several case studies have been performed and the results were compared with those from AECL. A good agreement was observed between those two results.

It is essential to reduce global carbon emissions, mainly from energy use. The water supply and distribution sector is a vital part of human society and is one of the primary energy consumers. The procurement and distribution of water require electricity to operate the pump to deliver water to users with sufficient pressure. As the water users are spatially distributed over a wide area, the energy required to deliver water to each user differs depending on the corresponding supplying element (reservoir, tank, pipe, pump, and valve). This difference in energy required for each user also comes with a difference in pressure availability which affects the level of service for individual users and the whole network. Typically, there is a disproportion where users close to the source experience excessively high pressure with low energy consumption. In contrast, remote users need more energy to get the minimum pressure. This study proposes the Energy Return Index (ERI) to quantify the pressure return from particular energy consumption to supply water to each node. The disproportionality can be quantified and identified in the network using the proposed ERI. The index can be applied to optimize the network elements such as pump operation and tank location/size to reach a balanced energy consumption with the appropriate level of service.

This study investigated the effects of pressure on the growth of an impinging spray. We obtained the frozen images which were scattered by Nd ; YAG laser light (pulse width : 7 ns) using synchronization circuit made in the laboratory. For an impinging spray a growth of the penetration length was progressed with increase of the injection pressure but an ambient pressure restrained its growth. The effect of an ambient pressure on penetration was larger than that of an injection pressure. The pressure ratio had an effect on the penetration growth rate. The thickness growth rate depended on both the injection pressure and the ambient pressure compositively. A lower injection pressure or a higher ambient pressure was required for spatial distribution of impinging spray.
Herein, we present a numerical investigation of wear analysis of sliding systems with a constant speed subjected to Archard's wear law. For this investigation, we compared two methods: eigen-wear analysis and adaptive meshing technique. The eigen-wear analysis is advantageous to predict the evolution of contact pressure due to wear using the initial contact pressure and contact stiffness. The adaptive meshing technique in finite element analysis is employed to obtain transient wear behavior, which needs significant computational resources. From the eigen-wear analysis, we can determine the appropriate element size required for finite element analysis and the time increment required for wear evolution by a dimensionless variable above a certain value. Since the prediction of wear depends on the maximum contact pressure, the finite element model should have a reasonable representation of the maximum contact pressure. The maximum contact pressure and wear amount according to this dimensionless variable shows that the number of fine meshes in the contact area contributes more to the accuracy of the wear analysis, and the time increment is less sensitive when the number of contact nodes is significantly larger. The results derived from a two-dimensional wear model can be applied to a three-dimensional wear model.

Recently, an unprecedented emerging infectious disease has rapidly spread, causing a global shortage of wards. Although various temporary beds have appeared, the supply of wards specializing in infectious diseases is required. Negative pressure isolation wards should maintain their function even after an earthquake. However, the current seismic design standards do not guarantee the negative pressure isolation wards' operational (OP) performance level. For this reason, some are not included in the design target even though they are non-structural elements that require seismic design. Also, the details of non-structural elements are usually determined during the construction phase. It is often necessary to complete the stability review and reinforcement design for non-structural elements within a short period. Against this background, enhanced performance objectives were set to guarantee the OP non-structural performance level, and a computerized tool was developed to quickly perform the seismic design of non-structural elements in the negative pressure isolation wards. This study created a spreadsheet-based computer tool that reflects the components, installation spacing, and design procedures of non-structural elements. Seismic performance review and design of the example non-structural elements were conducted using the computerized tool. The strength of some components was not sufficient, and it was reinforced. As a result, the time and effort required for strength evaluation, displacement evaluation, and reinforcement design were reduced through computerized tools.
This study was examined 718 workers who had consistent blood pressure results in 2001 and 2002 general health examinations that were held at a work places managed by a health care agency in Seoul. Significant results are found as follows by analysing SPSS 11.0 on the result of self-recorded questionnaires investigated from Mar 1, 2003 to April 30, 2003. 1. A sampled healthy group and a sampled unhealthy group had significant differences in four variables out of possible nineteens that are sex, age, marriage and occupation. The unhealthy group had more males than females, more aged (over 50 years old) than youngers (under 50 years old), more married than singles, more manufacturing workers than non-manufacturing workers. In the case of systolic blood pressure, as the healthy group had 16.52mmHg while that of the other group had 149. 58mmHg, 33.06mmHg of difference between those groups were detected. In the case of diastolic blood pressure, 74.93mmHg of the healthy group and 96.53mmHg of the unhealthy group yielded 21.60mmHg of difference between them. This result implies that a guidance of health care is required to be aware of 20-30mmHg volatility in blood pressure rate or to understand and treat properly own blood pressure. as it is difficult to detect hypertension in early stage due to no initial symptom. According to the result. an establishment of management system of workers, companies and health care agencies is required for consist health care. 2. In terms of risky habits to health, the unhealthy group had more proportion of past smokers, over-twice-a-week drinkers, people with higher obesity rate. However, in terms of excercise, the proportion of regularly exercising people is higher in the unhealthy group while that of non-exercising people is higher in the healthy group. On the other hand. the average grade of health practicing behaviour in two groups are not significantly different as the health group had 3.00 out of possible 6.00 while the other had 3.10. This result means that as workers are not interested in health practicing behaviour. health promoting programmes must be developed in such a way of various method of motivations and incentives. Particularly this implies that distortional objectives of exercises should be readjusted through health guidance. 3. Systolic blood pressure in the healthy group can be explained by sex and the obesity rate while that in the unhealthy group can be explained by subjective health awareness and the obesity. Diastolic blood pressure in the healthy group can be explained by sex and the obesity rate like the former. The obesity rate was significant variable affecting the blood pressure of both groups, and particularly the effect to the unhealthy group was remarkably higher than that to the healthy group. Therefore, this research identified that the health care on the blood pressure of workers is not only limited to hypertension patients, but also extended to all workers. In order for consistent care, an establishment of management system of workers, companies and health care agencies is required.

In this paper, an experiment was carried out to measure the hydrodynamic oil pressure distribution in the clearance gap between a piston and cylinder. The results showed that the pressure distributions are highly affected by the eccentricity of the piston. Therefore present experimental method can be used to enhance the performance of hydraulic piston pumps. Further experimental studies for various operating conditions and improvement in data acquisition methods are required to obtain more accurate results.
