  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the factors influencing the reproductive health behavior of married immigrant women (MIW). Methods: A cross-sectional based survey was conducted. The data were collected using a self-reporting questionnaire of MIW who lived in cities and provinces. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson's correlation, and multiple regression analysis. Results: A total of 141 subjects participated in the study (mean age, $34.23{\pm}6.53$). Of the participants, 45.4% were Vietnamese. The reproductive health behavior score of the subjects was $4.09{\pm}0.51$. The reproductive health behavior showed positive correlations with attitude (r=.37, p<.001), perceived behavioral control (r=.35, p<.001) and intent (r=.33, p<.001). The factors influencing the reproductive health behavior were attitude toward the reproductive health behavior (${\beta}=.24$, p=.005), perceived behavioral control (${\beta}=.18$ p=.046), experience of breast feeding (${\beta}=.20$, p=.014), and the self-evaluated Korean listening ability (${\beta}=.18$, p=.019). These variables explained 29% of the variance in the reproductive health behavior. Conclusion: According to the above results, a specific educational program for MIW is needed to increase their reproductive health behavior.

  • The aim of this study is to determine whether the reproductive health promotion program (RHPP) affect the sexual knowledge, sexual attitude, and reproductive health promoting behavior in University students. The students of 108 (mean 20.84 years) were participated in the RHPP, and this program was conducted to 110 min, twice a week for 4 weeks from November 9, 2016 to December 7. We investigated sexual knowledge, attitude, and reproductive health promoting behavior by questionnaire. As the results, the sexual attitude was better than baseline, and significant correlation between the sexual knowledge and the reproductive health promoting behavior (p<0.05). However, no significant changes in outcome measure were observed in the sexual knowledge and reproductive health promoting behavior (p>0.05). We found that the RHPP improves the sexual attitude and correlate between the sexual knowledge and reproductive health promoting behavior. This study will be utilized to develop the education program for the reproductive health promotion of University students.

  • Objectives: This study was to develop a reliable and valid instrument measuring the reproductive health promoting behavior of undergraduates. Methods: The initial questionnaires were made of 106 items from four domains through literature review. All questionnaire items were revised by an expert group and a pilot test. Data were collected using the revised initial questionnaire of men's 58 items and female's 64 items from 634 male and 685 female undergraduate students. The collected questionnaires were analyzed by factor analysis using varimax rotation to evaluate the construct validity. Results: According to the gender, two measurement were invented and analysed separately. Four common factors consisting of 'safe sex', 'sexual responsibility', 'genital health management' and 'STD prevention' were discovered in both groups. The 'genital hygiene' factor was added as a female factor. Male students' scale was made up 4 factors 16 items and female students' scale was made up 5 factors 18 items. Cronbach's alpha for male scale was estimated to be .892 and female scale to be .882. Conclusions: This scale will make it possible to measure the level of reproductive health among Korean university students. This scale may be useful for developing effective methods of education as well as policy programs for improving the reproductive health of Korean university students.

  • The aim of this study is to observe the reproductive behavior of the marine medaka, Oryzias dancena, and determine the factors of reproductive behavior to provide useful information for improving their artificial reproduction techniques. The reproductive behavior of the marine medaka was observed in laboratory aquaria. Once the experiment began, all of the males chased the females. The males attempted to stimulate the urogenital openings of the females. While chasing a female, a large male would bite a relatively small male's anus. Larger males expelled smaller males with biting, and the defeated males were barred from the female. After the other males were expelled, the remaining male approached and drew alongside the female. The male's dorsal and anal fins covered the female's body. Spawning began after complete covering took place. Spawning of males and females occurred simultaneously. The loadings for 2 factors were calculated. The calculation was restricted to 2 factors because these 2 factors explained about 81% of the total common variance (P<0.05) and the following factors possessed no practical significance. Two movements (biting, expelling) had high positive values for factor one. This factor related a male's defensive behavior to courtship behavior and spawning, and explained 23.1% of the total common variance (P<0.05). The second factor had high positive values for chasing, rejection, covering, and parallel swimming. This factor related a male's courtship behavior and female's defensive behavior to spawning, and explained 59.7% of the total common variance (P<0.05). This research provided basic biological data for the conservation of this species and useful information for improving their artificial reproduction techniques.
