  • In this work, we establish Heisenberg-type uncertainty principle for the Bessel-Struve Fock space ${\mathbb{F}}_{\nu}$ associated to the Airy operator $L_{\nu}$. Next, we give an application of the theory of extremal function and reproducing kernel of Hilbert space, to establish the extremal function associated to a bounded linear operator $T:{\mathbb{F}}_{\nu}{\rightarrow}H$, where H be a Hilbert space. Furthermore, we come up with some results regarding the extremal functions, when T are difference operators.

  • A Galerkin meshfree method is presented for analyzing shear deformable cylindrical panels. Based upon the analogy between the cylindrical panel and the curved beam a pure bending mode for cylindrical panel is rationally constructed. The meshfree approximation employed herein is characterized by an enhanced moving least square or reproducing kernel basis function that can exactly represent the pure bending mode and thus meets the requirement of Kirchhoff mode reproducing condition. The variational form is discretized using the efficient stabilized conforming nodal integration with a smoothed nodal gradient based curvature. The resulting meshfree formulation satisfies the integration constraint for bending exactness. Moreover, it is shown here that the smoothed gradient preserves several desired properties which are valid for the standard gradient obtained by direct differentiation, such as partition of nullity and reproduction of a constant strain field. The efficacy of the proposed approach is demonstrated by two benchmark cylindrical panel examples.

  • Let S($z_1$, $z_2$) be a power series with operator coefficients such that multiplication by 5($z_1$, $z_2$) is a contractive transformation in the Hilbert space $\mathbf{H}_2$($\mathbb{D}^2$, C). In this paper we show that there exists a Hilbert space D($\mathbb{D}$,$\bar{S}$) which is the state space of extended canonical linear system with a transfer fucntion $\bar{S}$(z).

  • Using the level set and the meshfree methods, we develop a topological shape optimization method applied to linear elasticity problems. Design gradients are computed using an efficient adjoint design sensitivity analysis(DSA) method. The boundaries are represented by an implicit moving boundary(IMB) embedded in the level set function obtainable from the "Hamilton-Jacobi type" equation with the "Up-wind scheme". Then, using the implicit function, explicit boundaries are generated to obtain the response and sensitivity of the structures. Global nodal shape function derived on a basis of the reproducing kernel(RK) method is employed to discretize the displacement field in the governing continuum equation. Thus, the material points can be located everywhere in the continuum domain, which enables to generate the explicit boundaries and leads to a precise design result. The developed method defines a Lagrangian functional for the constrained optimization. It minimizes the compliance, satisfying the constraint of allowable volume through the variations of boundary. During the optimization, the velocity to integrate the Hamilton-Jacobi equation is obtained from the optimality condition for the Lagrangian functional. Compared with the conventional shape optimization method, the developed one can easily represent the topological shape variations.

  • In this study, a nonhomogeneous markov model which is able to simulate hourly rainfall series is developed for estimating reliable hydrologic variables. The proposed approach is applied to simulate hourly rainfall series in Korea. The simulated rainfall is used to estimate the design rainfall and flood in the watershed, and compared to observations in terms of reproducing underlying distributions of the data to assure model's validation. The model shows that the simulated rainfall series reproduce a similar statistical attribute with observations, and expecially maximum value is gradually increased as number of simulation increase. Therefore, with the proposed approach, the non-homogeneous markov model can be used to estimate variables for the purpose of design of hydraulic structures and analyze uncertainties associated with rainfall input in the hydrologic models.
