Purpose: The aim of this study was to assess the repeatability of the electrical measurement of taste detection on different dates and in different sessions in healthy young females. Methods: The sites of electrical stimulation were the tip of the tongue, the posterolateral border of the tongue and the soft palate on the right side unilaterally. The measurements were repeated over three consecutive days, three sessions per day and three times for each session in seventeen healthy females. The repeatability of the measurement was assessed by the intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC). Results: In the dB unit, the ICC of the tip of the tongue and the soft palate was good (61.03 and 66.03, respectively); however, the lateral border of the tongue was a little lower (58.07). In the ㎂ unit, all three test sites had poor ICC. Variability was more significantly associated with the subject factor than with other factors such as trials, sessions and days in dB and ㎂ units. Conclusions: Electrogustometry, which measures electrical taste detection thresholds in the dB unit, is repeatable and acceptable for clinical use in assessing taste function in healthy young females.
PURPOSE. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the repeatability and matching accuracy between two identical intraoral spectrophotometers. MATERIALS AND METHODS. The maxillary right central incisor, canine, and mandibular left central incisor of each of 30 patients were measured using 2 identical intraoral spectrophotometers with different serial numbers (EasyShade V). The color of each shade tab from 3 shade guides (VITA 3D-Master) was also determined with both devices. All measurements were performed by a single operator. Statistical analyses were performed to verify the repeatability, accuracy, and the differences between the devices with paired t-tests, one-way ANOVA, and intra-class correlation coefficients (ICCs) (${\alpha}=.05$). RESULTS. A high level of measurement repeatability (ICC>0.90) among $L^*$, $a^*$, and $b^*$ color components was observed within and between devices (P<.001). Intra-device matching agreement rates were 80.00% and 81.11%, respectively, while inter-device matching agreement rate was 51.85%. ANOVA revealed no significant different color values within each device, while paired t-test provided significant different color values between both devices. The CIEDE2000 color differences between both devices were $2.28{\pm}1.61$${\Delta}E_{00}$ for in-vivo readings. Regarding the clinical matching accuracy of both devices, ${\Delta}E_{00}$ values between teeth and matching shade tabs were $3.05{\pm}1.19$ and $2.86{\pm}1.02$, respectively. CONCLUSION. Although two EasyShade V devices with different serial numbers show high repeatability of CIE $L^*$, $a^*$, and $b^*$ measurements, they could provide different color values and shade for the same tooth.
Reliability of the novel automatic system capable of measuring both St$\ddot{o}$ckigt sizing degree and contact angle at a time was evaluated through the calculation of its repeatability and reproducibility based on TAPPI Standard Method T 1200. As the basis weight of paper specimen increased, the repeatability and reproducibility of the automatic system became more improved than those from Hercules sizing test and contact angle test designated on TAPPI Standard Method T 530 and T 558. The more improved repeatability and reproducibility implies that a single tester can obtain the similar results under similar test conditions in spite of repetitive testing using the automatic system, and likewise that multiple testers can respectively reproduce similar data without big variation from the same paper specimen using the automatic system. In conclusion, this study is greatly meaningful in having developed the world's first automatic system to measure both St$\ddot{o}$ckigt sizing degree and contact angle simultaneously with excellent repeatability and reproducibility.

A 250mm stroke aerostatic stage, which detects position with laser scale and is driven by linear motor, is made and analyzed positioning error in 20$\pm$ 0.5 $^{\circ}C$ controlled atmosphere, aiming at investigating positioning characteristic of ultra-precision stage. We prove this aerostatic stage has a 10nm micro step resolution by experiment. By means of analyzing laser interferometer system, the scale of measuring error is about 0.2-0.4$\mu\textrm{m}$ according to refractive index error from missing the temperature change. To improve laser interferometer system, compensate refractive index error using measuring data from thermocouple. And, confirm 0.10$\mu\textrm{m}$ repeatability and 0.13 $\mu\textrm{m}$ positioning accuracy using the compensating refractive index. Also, we confirm 0.07 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ repeatability of the stage using capacitive displacement sensor.
In this paper, For improving the positioning accuracy of hydrostatic table, relationship between temperature of atmosphere and thermal characteristics of hydrostatic table is analyzed, and influence of thermal characteristics on positioning accuracy is also analyzed experimentally. From the experimental results, it is confirmed that positioning error and repeatability is $0.21{\mu}m\;and\;0.18{\mu}m$ when the laser scale which has $0.01{\mu}m$ of resolution is used as feed-back unit. and also confirmed that thermal deformation of scale and supporter, which occurs by the temperature variation of atmosphere, works as limit of repeatability in long time operation.
Thermal characteristics of hydrostatic guideway is largely depended on the temperature of supplied oil. For improving the positioning accuracy of hydrostatic guideway, relationship between setting temperature of oil cooler and thermal characteristics is analyzed, and influence of thermal characteristics on positioning accuracy is also analyzed experimental1y in this paper. Laser scale which has 0.01 $\mu\textrm{m}$ of resolution is used as feed-back unit. From the experimental results, it is confirmed that positioning error and repeatability is minimize upto 0.21 $\mu\textrm{m}$ and 0.18 $\mu\textrm{m}$ when the temperature of supplied oil is setting equal to temperature of atmosphere, and also confirmed that thermal deformation, which occurs by the temperature deviation between table and rail or scale supporter, works as limit of repeatability in long time operation.
An aerostatic stage has frictionless behavior, so it has a advantage of investigation into positioning characteristics. A one-dimensional aemstatic ceramic stage with ballscrew driven and laser scale feedback system is manufactured. aiming at investigating positioning characteristic of aerostatic stage, especially position error and repeatability, we analyze positioning behavior with other factors such as angular error, temperature. Experimemal results show that the aerostatic stage has a l0nm micro step response. Comparing experimental results and calculated abbe's error, we confirm that mean of position error is owing to angular error. And, also we confirm the temperature is dominant factor of repeatability in ten nm order.
The repeatability error creeps in every corner of mechanical design as mechanical design becomes diverse and complicated. Inkjet printing has inherent repeatability error problem due to its nature of seamless incremental image synthesis of partial images. Without the calibration for the repeatability error realization of high print quality or enhancement of other printing performance could be impaired. Printer designers have met this recurrent problem even before the inception of inkjet print device and contrived various solutions as their own intelectual proprietary. Also, it is a trend to perform necessary calibration without painstaking human intervention. To come up with another useful and proprietary solution has become an important ingredient in inkjet printer design. This paper presents such a solution developed at Digital Printing Division of Samsung Electronics Company.
Reproductive data collected from more than 20,000 Japanese Black cows of Hyogo and Shimane Prefectures were analyzed. Averages of age at first calving, gestation length, days open and calving interval were 25.1 mo, 289 d, 112 d and 401 d, respectively. Variance components were obtained by REML procedure and the heritability estimate of age at first calving was 0.22. In gestation length the heritability estimate was 0.40 and no permanent environmental effect was estimated. Estimated variance components of calving interval were similar to those of days open and the heritability and repeatability of calving interval were 0.05 and 0.09, respectively. Random farm effects accounted for approximately 10% of phenotypic variations in all traits. Genetic and farm correlations between age at first calving and calving interval were 0.27 and 0.39, respectively. It was found that temporary environment was an important source of variation for calving intervals of Japanese Black.
