Design of Remote Management System for Smart Factory

  • As a decrease in labor became a serious issue in the manufacturing industry, smart factory technology, which combines IT and the manufacturing business, began to attract attention as a solution. In this study, we have designed and implemented a real-time remote management system for smart factories, which is connected to an IoT sensor and gateway, for plastic manufacturing plants. By implementing the REST API in which an IoT sensor and smart gateway can communicate, the system enabled the data measured from the IoT sensor and equipment status data to the real-time monitoring system through the gateway. Also, a web-based management dashboard enabled remote monitoring and control of the equipment and raw material processing status. A comparative analysis experiment was conducted on the suggested system for the difference in processing speed based on equipment and measurement data number change. The experiment confirmed that saving equipment measurement data using cache mechanisim offered faster processing speed. Through the result our works can provide the basic framework to factory which need implement remote management system.

  • Sensor application systems for remote monitoring and control are required, such as the establishment of databases and IoT service servers, to process data being transmitted and received through radio communication modules, controllers and gateways. This paper designs and implements database server, IoT service server, data processing middleware and IoT management system for IoT based services based on the controllers, communication modules and gateway middleware platform developed. For this, we firstly define the specification of the data packet and control code for the information classification of the sensor application system, and also design and implement the database as a separate server for data protection and efficient management. In addition, we design and implement the IoT management system so that functions such as status information verification, control and modification of operating environment information of remote sensor application systems are carried out. The implemented system can lead to efficient operation and reduced management costs of sensor application systems through site status analysis, setting operational information, and remote control and management.

  • In this paper, the Power Management System(PMS) which based on a decision making system according to power strategy is proposed and implemented. PMS is designed to have functions of power monitoring. controlling, synchronizing load sharing and monitoring of driving engine, etc. PMS consists of the internet communication system(ICS). Remote Management System(RMS) and Sensor Driver System (SDS) ICS transmits the monitoring and supervisory data via Internet to Remote Management System(RMS) in real-time SDS detects various power system data on local generator and utility via I/O interface system. I/O interface system receives various status data and outputs control signals. Implemented PMS is tested with dummy signal to verify proposed functions and shows good results. For future study implemented PMS will be tested under real load condition to merchandize.

  • In this paper have developed a system for monitoring and processing the real time sensor data in remote site through network. For realizing this system, measurement equipment and protocol are used to transmit the measurement data to remote server and to process measurement data. In server part, the received data from remote site sensor is converted to text or graphic charts for user. The measurement device in sensor part receives the sensor data form sensor and store the received data to its internal memory for transmitting data to server part through Internet. Also the measurement device can receive data form server. The temperature sensor is connected to the measurement device located in laboratory and the measurement device measures temperature of laboratory which can be confirmed by user through Internet. We have developed a server programworking on the Linux to store measurement data from measurement device to server memory. The program is use for SNMP(Simple Network Management Protocol) to exchange data with measurement device. Also the program changes the measurement data into text and graphic charts for user display. The program is use apache PHP program for user display and inquiry. The real time temperature measurement system can be apply for many parts of industry and living.

Recursive PCA-based Remote Sensor Data Management System Applicable to Sensor Network

  • Wireless Sensor Network(WSNs) consists of small sensor nodes with sensing, computation, and wireless communication capabilities. It has new information collection scheme and monitoring solution for a variety of applications. Faults occurring to sensor nodes are common due to the limited resources and the harsh environment where the sensor nodes are deployed. In order to ensure the network quality of service it is necessary for the WSN to be able to detect the faulty sensors and take necessary actions for the reconstruction of the lost sensor data caused by fault as earlier as possible. In this paper, we propose an recursive PCA-based fault detection and lost data reconstruction algorithm for sensor networks. Also, the performance of proposed scheme was verified with simulation studies.

무선센서네트워크 기반 온실환경 모니터링 시스템 구현 (Implementation of Greenhouse Environment Monitoring System based on Wireless Sensor Networks)

  • 본 논문에서는 무선센서네트워크 기술을 활용하여 각종 생장환경 정보들을 수집하고 모니터링 할 수 있는 무선센서네트워크 기반의 온실환경 모니터링 시스템을 설계하고 구현하였다. 또한, 원격지에서 온실 시설내 내부 환경 및 시설제어시스템을 통합 제어 관리하기 위한 시스템을 제안한다. 본 논문에서 제안한 시스템은 넓은 온실 내부의 환경 데이터 수집 및 온실 시설 제어 서비스를 제공함은 물론 무선센서네트워크 기반 온실환경 모니터링 시스템 및 온실시설 제어를 통하여 실시간 원격 온실 통합 서비스 제공이 가능하다. 통합관리시스템을 위한 GUI 구현은 HMI기반의 시스템 모니터링부로 설계하였으며, 센서정보들은 실시간으로 통합관리시스템의 모니터링 화면을 통해 센서 결과값을 출력할 수 있음을 결과로 얻을 수 있었다.

  • 센서 네트워크 기술은 이러한 센서 노드를 특정한 지역에 대량으로 배치하여 네트워크를 구성한 후 센서 노드를 정보 제공의 매체로 활용하는 기술이다. 센서 노드는 매우 제한적인 하드웨어 자원을 가지고 있기 때문에 효율적인 자원 관리와 센서 네트워크상에서의 다양한 응용 환경을 제공하는 운영체제가 필요하다. 또한 원격 코드 업데이트는 이미 배포된 네트워크에서 응용 프로그램의 오류가 발생하여 이를 수정하거나 성능 개선을 위해 꼭 필요한 기술이다. 본 논문에서는 원격 코드 업데이트가 용이한 새로운 센서 노드용 운영체제, EPRCU(Easy to Perform Remote Code Update)를 제안한다. EPRCU는 이벤트 드리븐 방식의 실행 모델에서 에이징(Aging) 기법을 적용한 우선순위 기반의 프로세스 스케줄링 방식을 사용한다. 작업의 기본 단위인 프로세스는 로더에 의한 동적 메모리 할당 및 프로그램 메모리 관리 기능을 제공함으로써 무선 통신을 이용한 코드 업데이트 수행이 용이할 뿐만 아니라 다양한 센서 네트워크 응용에도 적합하다.

무선 센서네트워크 기반 실시간 다중소스 센서데이터 관리시스템 구현 및 성능분석 (Implementation and Performance Analysis of Real-time Multi-source Sensor Data Management System Based on Wireless Sensor Network)

  • 본 논문에서는 우선 센서네트워크를 기반으로 실시간 다중소스 센서데이터 관리시스템을 제안하고 구현하였다. 제안된 관리시스템은 대상시스템의 상태를 효율적으로 감시하고 제어하기 위해서 다수의 센서들로부터 수집된 실시간 데이터를 무선으로 서버로 전송하며, 이를 분석하여 동작하도록 설계되었다. 제안된 시스템은 원격지에서 세포배양장치와 같은 다중 소스 센서들을 클러스터 형태로 구성하고, 이들로부터 발생하는 센서데이터를 제어, 전송하며, 각 소스로부터 수신된 데이터를 소스별로 구분하여 관리가 가능하도록 구현하였다. 제안된 시스템의 성능을 평가하기 위해서 전송거리에 따른 전송 지연시간과 다중소스로부터 발생된 데이터 손실률을 측정하여 분석하였으며, 그 결과 우수한 성능을 보임을 확인하였다.

Smart Sensor Management System Supporting Service Plug-In in MQTT-Based IIoT Applications

  • Industrial IoT applications, including smart factories, require two problem-solving to build data monitoring systems required by services from distributed IoT sensors (smart sensors). One is to overcome proprietary protocols, data formats, and hardware differences and to uniquely identify and connect IoT sensors, and the other is to overcome the problem of changing the server-side data storage structure and sensor data transmission format according to the addition or change of service or IoT sensors. The IEEE 1451.4 standard-based or IPMI specification-based smart sensor technology supports the development of plug-and-play sensors that solve the first problem. However, there is a lack of research that requires a second problem-solving, which requires support for the plug-in of IoT sensors into remote services. To propose a solution for the integration of these two problem-solving, we present a IoT sensor platform, a service system architecture, and a service plugin protocol for the MQTT-based IIoT application environment.
