다기능 A/V제품 리모컨의 사용성 결정 인자에 관한 연구 (Study of the Usability Factors of Remote Controllers for Multifunction A/V Appliances)

  • 본 연구에서는 복잡한 기능을 가진 A/V기기 리모컨의 사용성을 저해하는 요인은 무엇인가 파악하고, 이를 개선하기 위한 사용성 결정 인자를 설정하여 사용성 비교 실험을 수행하고, 개선안을 제시, 이 개선안이 기존의 안에 비하여 우월하다는 점을 증명하고자 한다. 리모컨의 사용성 저해 요인을 파악하기 위하여 40여종의 각종 A/V관련 제품의 리모컨을 조사 분석하였다. 이를 통하여 사용성에 영향을 미치는 인자를 추출해 내고, 차기 버전의 플레이앳티비$(Play@TV^{TM})$용 리모컨을 선정하는데 이 인자를 만족하는 3개의 안을 도출해냈다. 기존의 리모컨과 새롭게 제시하는 3개의 리모컨 안에 대하여 사용성 테스트를 수행하여, 정성적, 정량적 분석을 하였다. 분석 결과 개선안 B가, 동일한 과제를 수행하는데 기존 리모컨에 비하여 9.2% 시간이 덜 걸리는 것을 확인 할 수 있었다. 이와 같은 결과는 본 연구에서 제시하는 리모컨 사용성의 결정인자, 즉, 기능수용성, 촉각적 단서의 제공, 적절한 크기와 무게, 주요 키의 배치 방법, 관련 기능의 그룹핑 등이 제품의 사용성을 개선하는데 유효함을 보이는 것이라 하겠다.

  • In this paper, universal wireless remote controllers are proposed. It can be used for general welding power sources. Sometimes, wireless remote controllers for welders are needed because welding torches are far away from welding sources in the case of big ship-building or big tank constructions. In order to use the wireless remote controllers, digital cpu-based welding systems are essential for digital interfaces. But, in this paper, using digital resistors makes wireless remote controllers be easily applied to digital or analog welders. To demonstrate the practical significance of our results, some experimental results are presented.

  • This paper describes the design of a remote control device that can control the ON/OFF state of multiple air compressors using wireless communication. The main remote controller and air compressor remote controller were designed using a microprocessor (ATmega128), and the circuit diagram was configured to wirelessly communicate using A Zigbee module between the two remote controllers. The result of the measurement of wireless communication distance between the two remote controllers was more than 1.1 km.

  • Infrared remote controllers are widely used in controlling electronic devices due to its simplicity and convenience. This paper presents a smart phone application unifying any infrared remote controllers. We can select a device from device list menu of the application. Any new device can be added easily by downloading the protocol file of the device from protocol file server. Remote controller protocol files are stored in audio file format, and the file related to a specific menu button is transmitted through the audio jack of smart phones. The protocol file server is a standard file server, and protocol files for various devices are collected by infrared receiver module. For smart phones without infrared facility, a small infrared module translating audio signal to infrared signal is applied.

산업현장의 천장크레인 조작장치 사용 현황과 인간공학적 문제점 (Overhead Crane Controllers and Ergonomic Problems in Industrial Field)

  • Overhead cranes are the most widely used and have been identified as one of the main causes of fatal accidents. Although structural, mechanical and electrical safety standards for overhead cranes have been established to some extent, ergonomic standards related to crane controllers are rarely established. As a result, many crane accidents are reported to be caused by operator's error. To investigate the actual use of crane controllers in the industrial field, we surveyed 82 overhead cranes in 15 workplace and interviewed workers operating them. This study has presented the ergonomic problems related to the crane controllers in the field. As a result of investigation, it was found that the direction control signs, the sign language, and the button layout on the pendant switches and remote controllers are not standardized, which can cause a human error. To reduce human errors in overhead crane operation, ergonomic standards for controllers should be reflected on the government legislation or standards.

  • A hand controller in teleoperation is a man-machine interface device that provides real-time interaction between a human operator at control site and a slave manipulator at remote site. In this paper, we examine the design issure related to various types of hand controllers in use. Emphasis is placed on bilateral hand controllers and their design parameters. We describe the design of a new 6 degree-of-freedom universal force-reflecting hand controller to control a remote Schilling Titan manipulator. This hand controller allows the operstor to maintain spatial corresponence in remote manipulative operation and fell a sense of contact with the environment. Finally, we demonstrate the graphic simulation of the hand controller to verify its design characteristics.

  • As the internet communication is prevalent in recent years, it becomes quite possible to monitor and control some mechanical plants from the remote place through the TCP/IP communication. Such a concept is expected to be applied to many industrial systems for easy maintenance and trouble shooting as well as various kinds of expensive test equipments for sharing. In this research, remote data monitoring and speed control for a DC-motor is implemented and tested through TCP/IP communication with embedded micro-controllers. It showed the possibility of reliable remote control system design utilizing the internet communication.

  • This paper focuses on the feasibility of fuzzy logic control for networked control systems. In order to evaluate its feasibility, a networked control system for motor speed control is implemented on a Profibus-DP network. The NCS consists of several independent, but interacting processes running on two separate stations. By using this NCS, the network delay is analyzed to find the cause of the delay. Furthermore, in order to prove the feasibility, the fuzzy logic controllers performance is compared with those of conventional PID controllers. Based on the experimental results, the fuzzy logic controller can be a viable choice for NCS due to its robustness against parameter uncertainty.
