Effects of Siegesbeckia Glabrescens on the Vascular Relaxation and Antioxidative Status (희렴의 혈관이완 효능과 항산화 동태에 관한 연구)

  • This study investigated the effects of Siegesbeckia glabrescens, an antihypertensive remedy, on the contraction evoked by phenylephrine and KCl in isolated rat thoracic arata, and also analyzed antioxidative status in vitro. Siegesbeckia glabrescens revealed dose-dependent relaxation on phenylephrine(PE)/KCl-induced arterial contraction and more markedly on PE-induced contraction. Siegesbeckia glabrescens reduced malondialdehyde(MDA)levels, Phosphatidyl choline-liposome(PC-OOH) contents, linoleic acid-induced lipid peroxidation and exerted 1,1-diphenyl-2- picryl-hydrazyl(DPPH) radical scavenging effect, in vitro. These results indicated that Siegesbeckia glabrescens doesn't relaxe artery through a blocking α-adrenergic receptor and calcium channel mediated by voltage-operated calcium channel, and it s antioxidative effects may be involved in endothelium-dependent relaxation of arteries via vascular protective properites.   • This paper proposes a speech state-dependent spectral subtraction method to regulate the blind spectral subtraction for improved enhancement. In the proposed method, a modified subtraction rule is applied over the speech selectively contingent to the speech state being voiced or unvoiced, in an effort to incorporate the acoustic characteristics of phonemes. In particular, the objective of the proposed method is to remedy the subtraction induced signal distortion attained by two state-dependent procedures, spectrum sharpening and minimum spectral bound. In order to remove the residual noise, the proposed method employs a procedure utilizing the masking effect. Proposed spectral subtraction including state-dependent subtraction and residual noise reduction using the masking threshold shows effectiveness in compensation of spectral distortion in the unvoiced region and residual noise reduction.

  • The classical method for regression analysis is the least squares method. However, if the data contain significant outliers, the least squares estimator can be broken down by outliers. To remedy this problem, the robust methods are important complement to the least squares method. Robust methods down weighs or completely ignore the outliers. This is not always best because the outliers can contain some very important information about the population. If they can be detected, the outliers can be further inspected and appropriate action can be taken based on the results. In this paper, I propose a sequential outlier test to identify outliers. It is based on the nonrobust estimate and the robust estimate of scatter of a robust regression residuals and is applied in forward procedure, removing the most extreme data at each step, until the test fails to detect outliers. Unlike other forward procedures, the present one is unaffected by swamping or masking effects because the statistics is based on the robust regression residuals. I show the asymptotic distribution of the test statistics and apply the test to several real data and simulated data for the test to be shown to perform fairly well.

A Varactor-Tuned RF Tunable Bandpass Filter with Improved Passband Flatness

  • A RF tunable bandpass filter using dielectric resonators and varactor diodes is redesigned to improve the passband flatness. Since the tunable liters are generally of narrow bandwidth and the Q value of the varactor diode is usually very low, the passband flatness is strongly deteriorated by sizeable distortion loss. To remedy this problem, we construct modified Chebyshev type filter by use of network synthesis techniques. The key of modified Chebyshev type filter is the rearrangement of the passband poles to improve the passband flatness. To maintain the constant passband bandwidth, design techniques of input/output stage and coupling windows are also applied. Experimental results show that the passband flatness can be improved by purposed method without any additional RF amplitude equalizer.

  • Acne, which intrudes the pilosebaceous unit, is a chronic inflammatory disease. The symptom of comedones, papules, pustules, cysts, nodules and scar mainly raise on the face, upper back, shoulder and neck. The cause of acne is the secreting growth of sebum, abnormal follicular keratinization, the form of group of propionibacterium acnes, and the response of inflammation etc. But the original mechanism of the cytobiologic level is exactly not known yet. Chungsangbangpungtang is one of the most frequently used medical treatments for the acne. A study on 25 patients with acne who took Chungsangbangpungtang shows that the oral medication of Chungsangbangpungtang is the best efficient remedy for a person who has acne less than one year without nodules.

  • The node of lotus rhizome (Nelumbo nucifera, Nymphaeaceae) have been used as a traditional medicine for the remedy of hemorrhage, blood stagnancy and thirstiness. To investigate phenolic compound from the node of Nelumbo nucifera, phytochemical isolation and structure elucidation were conducted. Four phenolic compounds were isolated from aqueous methanolic extract and the structure of these compounds were identised as (+)-catechin (1), (+)-gallocatechin (2), (+)-gallocatechin (4u-8)-catechin (3) and scolpoletin (4) respectively by the analysis of spectroscopic evidences and comparisions with the data of authentic samples.

  • In the Korean domestic construction field, there are a lot of problems related to construction information exchange and sharing owing to the absence of construction drawing information exchange standard. To remedy the aforementioned inefficiency effectively, it is necessary to apply the STEP standard which is known as an international standard for achieving the establishment of Construction CALS. This study focus on suggesting a methodology to activate the STEP based construction drawing information exchange standard to the current construction drawing information exchanging and sharing practice. In this paper, the domestic and foreign standardization projects related to the construction drawing information have been investigated and analyzed. In addition, a methodology of applying and activating the STEP standard has been suggested. Finally, a verification and certification methodology for applying the CALS/EC construction drawing information exchange standard(STEP) have been suggested.

  • The Case Study prepared by PCPA and Lift Group will identify a growing development problem in urban areas; high value project sites that are restrictive in size or "tight" are underutilized and underdeveloped. In an effort to remedy this problem, our team will evaluate a design program through the lens of both conventional construction and Core Cantilever Construction. It is also important to differentiate between Core Cantilever construction and the plagued "Lift Slab" construction method as they may be confused, due to the top down construction sequence. This article will demonstrate that constraints inherent to conventional construction techniques prohibit economically viable development of these project sites, while Core Cantilever construction methods increase the projects value by reducing construction timelines and increasing the useable floor area.

  • This case report show the effect of Hyeonggaeyeongyotonghab-bojungikgitang in patients with otitis media, and found the symptoms were improved significantly. One case of otitis media has severe purulent otorrhea, hearing loss. And the orther case has otitis media with effusion, hearing loss too. these patients had taken western medicine, but they hadn't any expect to improve condition. We had a significant results by Hyeonggaeyeongyotonghab-bojungikgitang. This result suggest that Hyeonggaeyeongyotonghab-bojungikgitang can be one of good remedy for otitis media.

  • Objective : The aim of this article is to report the chinese published papers on the results using the direct moxibustion to treat warts.Methods : Searching chinese published papers, we classified the results involved in the direct moxibustion treatment about warts. And analysed remedy methods, periods, cure rate, etc.Results : According to chinese published papers, the direct moxibustion itself may be effective in patients with warts. In all paper, the direct moxibustion showed more than 90% cure rate. The recurrence rate was low.Conclusion : We introduce a variety of wart treatments with the direct moxibustion which is made in China and report meaningful results. We hope to this paper contributes to various studies on cauterization of direct moxibustion.
