0.9Pb($Mg_{1/3}Nb_{2/3}$)$O_3$-0.1Pb$TiO_3$계 완화형 강유전체에서 MnO$_2$ 첨가에 따른 압전물성의 변화 (Effect of MnO$_2$ addition on the piezoelectric properties in 0.9Pb($Mg_{1/3}Nb_{2/3}$)$O_3$-0.1Pb$TiO_3$relaxor ferroelectrics)

  • 0.9Pb($Mg_{1/3}Nb_{2/3}$)$O_3$-0.1Pb$TiO_3$계 완화형 강유전체에서 MnO$_2$ 첨가가 압전물성에 미치는 영향을 강유전성이 우세한 온도영역인 -40~3$0^{\circ}C$의 온도범위에 걸쳐 조사하였다. MnO$_2$ 첨가에 의한 효과를 유전특성, 압전특성, 전계유기 변형특성 등의 영역에서 고찰하였다 MnO$_2$ 첨가량이 증가할수록 유전성 및 압전성은 hard piezoelectric의 경향을 나타내었다. 이러한 실험적 고찰로부터 첨가된 Mn은 강유전 도메인 분역을 고정하는 역할을 하는 것으로 제안되었다.

  • Ultrasonic sensor is suitable as a next-generation autonomous driving assist device because its lower price compared to that of other sensors and its sensing stability in the external environment. Although Pb(Zr, Ti)O3 (PZT)-relaxor ferroelectric system has excellent piezoelectric properties, the change in capacitance is large in the daily operating temperature range due to the low phase transition temperature. Recently, many studies have been conducted to improve the temperature stability of ferroelectric ceramics by controlling the grain size and crystal structure, so it is necessary to study the effect of the grain size on the piezoelectric properties and the temperature stability of PZT-relaxor ferroelectric system. In this study, the piezoelectric properties, phase transition temperature, and temperature coefficient of capacitance (TCC) of 0.9 Pb(Zr1-xTix)O3-0.1 Pb(Zn1/3Nb2/3)O3 (PZTx-PZN) ceramics with various grain sizes were investigated. PZTx-PZN ceramics with larger grain size showed higher piezoelectric properties and temperature stability, and are expected to be suitable for ultrasonic devices in the future.

Pb(Fe1/2Ta1/2)O3-Pb(Fe1/2Nb1/2)O3 고용체의 유전특성 및 질서배열구조 (Dielectric Properties and Ordering Structures of Pb(Fe1/2Ta1/2)O3-Pb(Fe1/2Nb1/2)O3 Solid Solutions)

  • $Pb(Fe_{1/2}Ta_{1/2})O_3$$Ta^{5+}$$Ta^{5+}$과 이온반경이 같고 원자량이 약 1/2배인 $Nb^{5+}$으로 치환한 $Pb{{Fe_{1/2}(Ta_(1-x)Nb_x)_{1/2}}O_3$ (x=0.0∼1.0) 고용체를 단일상으로 합성하여 그 유전특성 및 B자리 양이온 질서배열구조를 조사하였다. $Pb(Fe_{1/2}Ta_{1/2})O_3$는 유전완화현상 및 완만한 상전이가 뚜렷하게 관찰되는 전형적인 완화형 강유전특성을 보였지만, $Ta^{5+}$$Nb^{5+}$으로 치환됨에 따라 유전완화현상은 감소하고 상전이는 급격해져 결국 $Pb(Fe_{1/2}Nb_{1/2})O_3$는 유전완화현상이 전혀 관찰되지 않는 정상 강유전특성을 보였다. Raman 분광법에 의해 $Pb(Fe_{1/2}Ta_{1/2})O_3$$Fe^{3+}$$Ta^{5+}$은 XRD는 물론 TEM의 제한시야회절패턴으로도 검출하기 어려울 정도의 단거리영역에서 화학양론적으로 1:1 질서배열하고 있으며, $Ta^{5+}$$Nb^{5+}$으로 치환됨에 따라 $Fe^{3+}$과 ($Ta^{5+}-Nb^{5+}$) 간의 질서배열은 약화되어 결국 $Pb(Fe_{1/2}Nb_{1/2})O_3$$Fe^{3+}$$Nb^{5+}$은 완전 무질서배열하고 있음이 밝혀졌다. $Pb(Fe_{1/2}Ta_{1/2})O_3$의 완화형 강유전특성은 B자리 양이온들이 XRD는 물론 TEM의 제한시야회절패턴으로도 검출하기 어려울 정도의 단거리영역에서 화학양론적 1:1 질서배열을 하고 있는 것과, 또 $Pb(Fe_{1/2}Ta_{1/2})O_3$$Ta^{5+}$$Nb^{5+}$으로 치환됨에 따라 완화형 강유전특성이 감소되는 것은 이 질서배열이 약화되는 것과 그리고 $Pb(Fe_{1/2}Nb_{1/2})O_3$의 정상 강유전특성은 B자리 양이온들이 완전 무질서배열을 하고 있는 것과 연관지을 수 있었다.

  • The dielectric and polarizable properties of $0.9Pb_{1-x}La_x({Mg}_{1/3}Nb_{2/3})O_3-0.1PbTiO_3$ (x=0,1,2,3,4,5) have been investigated. The temperature-dependant electrostictive characteristics of 0.9PMN-0.1PT relaxor ferroelectric system were improved by enhencing the extent of the diffuse phase transition(DPT). This was achieved using PMN-PTceramics by the partial substitution of La at the Pb site. The curie temperature and the maximum dielectric permittivity decreased by substituting La and the electric field-related hysteresis phenomena decreased with increasing La substitution amount.

$(Pb, La)TiO_3$ 세라믹스의 소결 거동 및 유전.초전 특성 (Sintering Behavior, Dielectric and Pyroelectric Properties of $(Pb, La)TiO_3$ Ceramics)

  • The sintering behavior of La-modified PbTiO3 ceramics was investigated in order to improve the poor sinterability of PbTiO3. Addition of La improved the sinterability. It was confirmed that this improvement was due to the decrease in tetragonality ratio c/a of crystal lattice. The variations of dielectric constant and pyroelectric coefficient were measured with temperature. It was observed that with the increase of La content, Curie temperature decreased and dielectric constant at room temperature increased. La-modified PbTiO3 ceramics had smaller pyroelectric figure of merits than those of pyroelectric materials in use. The effects of grain size on dielectric and pyroelectric properties were also investigated. The change of grain size had effect on maximum dielectric constant and pyroelectric coefficient, but is had little effect on pyroelectric figure of merit at room temperature. The closer examination near ferro-paraelectric phase transition temperature revealed that the behavior of phase transition approached a more relaxor character with the increase of La content and the decrease of grain size.

Relaxation Characteristic of the Disordered Lead Scandium Niobate

  • The correlation between admittance and dielectric spectroscopy of dielectric relaxation in lead scandium noibate, have been investigated. Lead scandium niobate, with composition $PbSc_{0.5}Nb_{0.5}O_3$, was prepared by conventional solid state synthesis. Conductance Y'(G), susceptance Y"(B) and capacitance C of lead scandium niobate as a function of frequency and temperature were measured. From the temperature-dependence of RLC circuit, insight into physical significance of the dielectric properties of lead scandium niobate is obtained. The relative strong frequency dependent of dielectric properties in lead scandium niobate is observed, and the phase transition occurred at a broad temperature region. Also, the value of critical exponent ${\gamma}$=1.6 showed on heating process. The long relaxation times part enlarged diffuse by conductivity effects with increasing temperature, and the ordering between $Sc^{3+}$ and $Nb^{5+}$ in PSN influences complex admittance and dielectric properties. Confirmed the typical characteristic of lead-type relaxor in the Raman spectra of lead scandium niobate and major ranges are between 400 and $900cm^{-1}$.

Pb계 Perovskite-Pyrochlore 복합체의 강유전특성 (Ferroelectric Characteristics of Pb-containing Perovskite-Pyrochlore Composites)

  • Perovskite Pb0.7Ba0.3Zn1/3Nb2/3O3 substituted with 0.3 mole fraction for Pb-site in PbZn1/3Nb2/3O3 relaxor and pyrochlore Pb1.83Ba0.29Zn1.71Nb2/3O6.39 were mixed and dielectric characteristics of this composites were investigated. Percolation limit of perovskite phase, which was determined by microstructural observation in the composite as an isolation of perovskite phase from pyrochlore matrix, was 28.9-47.5 vol%. Ferroelectric phase transition below percolation limit depends on a parameter which affects the propagation of lattice vibration between isolated perovskite phase and pyrochlore matrix. Therefore, it is believed that ferroelectric lattice vibration of isolated perovskite phase could be transfered to pyrochlore matrix when the oxygen octahedra are linked in 3-dimension and highly polarizable Pb2+ ions are contained in both phases.

Pb계 완화형 강유전체에서의 relaxation 및 freezing거동 (Relaxation and Freezing in Pb-based Relaxer Ferroelectrics)

  • Pb계 완화형 강유전체인 Pb(Mg/sub ⅓/Nb/sub ⅔/O₃계에서 relaxation 현상과 freezing 거동을 살펴보기위해 낮은 전계에서 측정된 물성들과 강전계 하에서 측정된 물성들을 다양한 주파수 범위에서 비교분석하였다. -40∼90℃의 상전이 온도범위에 걸쳐 1 V/mm의 낮은전계에서 측정된 유전특성의 온도의존성을 구하고 유전이력곡선의 기울기로부터 계산된 유전상수의 온도의존성을 관찰하였다. 이상의 결과와 함께 초전 전류의 온도의존성을 검토한 결과 Vogel-Fulcher 관계식에 비교적 잘 일치되었다. 본 연구를 통하여 일정한 경향을 나타내는 freezing 온도를 산출할 수 있었다.

  • Temperature and frequency dependence of dielectric and electrical properties was investigated in cerium and manganese doped Sr$\_$0.6/Ba$\_$0.4/Nb$_2$O$\_$6/(60SBN) ceramic system. Structural deformation of 60SBN by dopants did not appeared. 1350$^{\circ}C$-10 h sintered specimen had higher densification than 1250$^{\circ}C$-10 h sintered one, to which dielectric properties are related. That the feature of dielectric maxima peaks was typical Diffusive Phase Transition (DPT), it was explained by "random-field Ising model". Even though 60SBN has large dielectric loss at high frequency above 100 ㎑, it is desirable for optical applications because of low dielectric loss at low frequency. From Arrhenius plot of temperature, the activation energy was calculated to 0.45-0.49 eV.

Pyroelectricity of Ni-doped PMNT Ferroelectric for Pyroelectric Detector

  • A pyroelctric properties of Ni(x)-doped PMNT systems were analyzed. Modified PMNT samples were prepared using the columbite structure method. Pyroelectric current, polarization, dielectric constant and dissipation factor of Ni-doped PMNT samples were measured as a function of temperature. By adding a small amount of NiO, pyroelectricity of PMNT is increased. Unlike the normal $ABO_3$ ferroelectric, Ni-doped PMNT showed properties for relaxor ferroelectric of causing the successive phase transition over a wide temperature. The optimum conditions for obtaining compositions with improvement ferroelectric properties are a nominal addition of 0.02 mole% Ni. Also, Ni-doped PMNT ferroelectric showed excellent pyroelectric figures of merit in the vicinity of room temperature. The pyroelectric coefficient ($0.00524C/m^2K$ at $25^{\circ}C$) and figures of merit ($F_v{\sim}0.039m^2/C$ and $F_d{\sim}0.664{\times}10^{-4}Pa^{-1/2}$) of composition PMNT with 0.02 mole% Ni are comparable to the earlier reports on lead-type pyroelectrics.
