  • Spin-lattice relaxation pathway of $CH_2$ spin system by two dimensional NOESY sequence has been discussed. Two-dimensional spectra governed by dipolar relaxation mechanism were simulated in term of transfer mode, the generalization of conventionally used magnetization mode in one dimension. The transfer matrix directly related to the Redfield relaxation matrix can be constructed by the multiplet of transfer mode. The observable relaxation transfer modes causes to variation of the off-diagonal signal intensity of phase sensitive NOESY spectra from which variable spectral density can be extracted with simple group theoretical calculation. The variation of the J-coupling peak intensity as a function of the mixing time in 2-D spectra for $n-Undecane-5-^{13}C$ and Bromoacetic $2-^{13}C$ acid has been theoretically traced.

  • The Thermally Stimulated Current(TSC) spectroscopy has been applied to study the influence of the structual cahange and interface on the electrical properties of epoxy composites. Three DGEBA-MeTHPA matrix model samples mixed different ratios and silica($SiO_2$) filled sample and silaln treating-filled sample has been studied. Above room temperature, the relaxation mode $\alpha$ peak associated with Tg has been located at $110^{\circ}C$. Below glass transition temperature(Tg), three relaxation modes are observed in all samples: a $\beta$ mode situated at $10^{\circ}C$, a $\gamma$ mode located at $-40^{\circ}C$ and a $\delta$ mode appeared in $-120^{\circ}C$. The analysis of its fine structure indicates that constitution of elementary processes is characterized by the activation energy and relaxation time. Also the dielectric relaxation properties have been investigated to compare the the change of the molecular structure and motion to the relaxation properties and conduction mechanism in TSC spectra.

  • Femtosecond vibrational spectroscopy was used to measure the vibrational population relaxation time ($T_1$) of different anions bound to ferric myoglobin ($Mb^{III}$) and hemoglobin ($Hb_{III}$) in $D_2O$ at 293 K. The $T_1$ values of the anti-symmetric stretching (${\nu}_1$) mode of NCS in the $NCS^-$ bound to $Mb^{III}$ ($Mb^{III}$NCS) and $Hb_{III}$ ($Hb_{III}$NCS) in $D_2O$ are $7.2{\pm}0.2$ and $6.6{\pm}0.2$ ps, respectively, which are smaller than that of free NCS. in $D_2O$ (18.3 ps). The $T_1$ values of the ${\nu}_1$ mode of NCO in the $NCO^-$ bound to $Mb^{III}$ ($Mb^{III}$NCO) and $Hb_{III}$ ($Hb_{III}$NCO) in $D_2O$ are $2.4{\pm}0.2$ and $2.6{\pm}0.2$ ps, respectively, which are larger than that of free $NCO^-$ in $D_2O$ ($1.9{\pm}0.2$ ps). The smaller $T_1$ values of the ${\nu}_1$ mode of the heme-bound NCS suggest that intramolecular vibrational relaxation (VR) is the dominant relaxation pathway for the excess vibrational energy. On the other hand, the longer $T_1$ values of the ${\nu}_1$ mode of the heme-bound NCO suggest that intermolecular VR is the dominant relaxation pathway for the excess vibrational energy in the ${\nu}_1$ mode of $NCO^-$ in $D_2O$, and that intramolecular VR becomes more important in the vibrational energy dissipation of the ${\nu}_1$ mode of NCO in $Mb^{III}$NCO and $Hb_{III}$NCO.

  • We develop a simple model which can describe and explain abnormal stress relaxation of ABS melt for which stress dose not exponentially decay. The relaxation behavior of ABS melt consists of two distinct relaxation modes. One is the relaxation of the matrix phase similar to the case of homopolymer melt. The other is manifested by the collection of butadiene rubber particles, named as the cluster, where the particles are connected through the interaction between grafted SAN and matrix SAN. The second mode of the relaxation is characterized by the relaxation time, which is a function of the average size and the microscopic state of the cluster. Experimental results reveal that it can be represented as the product of the average size of the clusters by a function of internal variable that represents the fraction of strained SAN chains inside the cluster.

  • Recent modeling of thermal nonequilibrium processes in simple molecules like hydrogen and nitrogen has indicated that rotational nonequilibrium becomes as important as vibrational nonequilibrium at high temperatures. In the present work, in order to analyze rovibrational nonequilibrium, the rotational mode is separated from the translational-rotational mode that is usually considered as an equilibrium mode in two- and multi-temperature models. Then, the translational, rotational, and electron-electronic-vibrational modes are considered separately in describing the thermochemical nonequilibrium of nitrogen behind a strong normal shock wave. The energy transfer for each energy mode is described by recently evaluated relaxation time parameters including the rotational-to-vibrational energy transfer. One-dimensional post-normal shock flow equations are constructed with these thermochemical models, and post-normal shock flow calculations are performed for the conditions of existing shock-tube experiments. In comparisons with the experimental measurements, it is shown that the present thermochemical model is able to describe the rotational and electron-electronic-vibrational relaxation processes of nitrogen behind a strong shock wave.

  • We experimentally measured the cold cavity loss of a mode-locked erbium-doped fiber ring laser in situ by using the relaxation oscillation frequency method. The relaxation oscillation frequency is measured for various pumping powers and the data is fitted by the least squares method with a theoretical curve of parameters including the cavity loss. We obtained a cavity loss of 15.3$\pm$0.5 dB which was found to agree with the results of direct transmission loss measurements.

  • Picosecond time-resolved resonance Raman spectroscopy has been used to study the photochemistry of Cr(CO$)_6$ in cyclohexane following photoexcitation at 266 nm. Photodissociative loss of CO is found to occur within our pulse width of ${\leq}$5 ps by probing the 533 c$m^{-1}$ vibrational mode of ground state Cr(CO$)_6$. The subsequent dynamics after photodissociation are interpreted in terms of solvation, vibrational and electronic relaxations. The vibrational relaxation time of 100 ps and 83 ps are observed by monitoring v=O and v=l of the 381 c$m^{-1}$ transient mode, respectively. No evidence was found for solvation and electronic relaxation occurring on a time scale of ${\leq}$5 ps.

  • This paper studies the effect of the relaxation time on a two-dimensional thermoelastic medium which has a doubly porous structure in the presence of diffusion and gravity. The normal mode analysis is used to obtain the analytic expressions of the physical quantities, which we take the solution form in the exponential image. We have discussed a homogeneous thermoelastic half-space with double porosity with the effect of diffusion and gravity. The equations of generalized thermoelastic material with double porosity structure with one relaxation time have been developed. Moreover, the expressions of many physical quantities are explained. The general solutions, under specific boundary conditions of the problem, were found in some detail. In addition, numerical results are computed.
