  • The purpose of this study is to suggest that the movement expression activity of intellectually disabled people is effective in the learning process of LMA motion recognition based on Kinect sensor. We performed an ICT motion recognition games for intellectually disabled based on movement learning of LMA. The characteristics of the movement through Laban's LMA include the change of time in which movement occurs through the human body that recognizes space and the tension or relaxation of emotion expression. The design and implementation of the motion recognition model will be described, and the possibility of using the proposed motion recognition model is verified through a simple experiment. As a result of the experiment, 24 movement expression activities conducted through 10 learning sessions of 5 participants showed a concordance rate of 53.4% or more of the total average. Learning motion games that appear in response to changes in motion had a good effect on positive learning emotions. As a result of study, learning motion games that appear in response to changes in motion had a good effect on positive learning emotions

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the change of hamstring muscle relaxation and craniosacral reciprocal movement by using S. O. T. (sacrooccipital technique) categoryⅠ block-intervention process. 26 subjects with heel tension were randomly divided into two groups (EXP=13 and CON=13). This study carried out the category I block-intervention process on the experimental group and the false block-intervention process on the control group. Then, this study measured the sit-and-reach and sacral reciprocal movement of subjects before and after the intervention. The result values before and after the intervention were analyzed through ANCOVA by using SPSS PC Program (Ver. 20.0). In both investigations, the degree of hamstring muscle relaxation and the change of sacral reciprocal movement, there were statistically significant differences between the experimental group and the control group as [F(1, 23)=7.73, p<0.5] and [F(1, 23)=7.07, p<.05] respectively. According to the results of this study, it is expected that S. O. T category I bllock-intervention technique will have positive effect on both hamstring muscle relaxation and craniosacral reciprocal movement.

  • Our purpose was to know whether photo-induced adequate nitric oxide (PIANO)-mediated relaxation of rat aorta is involved in cyclic GMP increment as well as inhibition of phosphatidylinositide hydrolysis due to phenylephrine (PE). Isometric tension was measured in vitro in response to either agents that modulate NO production or release NO by photolysis of photosensitizing agents in rat aorta that had been contracted with PE submaximally. PIANO-mediated relaxation was accompanied by increment of cyclic GMP, which was dependent on the intensity and duration of light exposure and concentration of photosensitizers. Phosphatidylinositide (PI) turnover augmented by PE was significantly inhibited by PIANO. These findings indiate that cGMP increment is responsible for PIANO-mediated relaxation and which may account for the inhibition of PI turnover due to ${\alpha}-adrenergic$ receptor stimulation.

  • In order to elucidate the regulatory mechanism of intracellular calcium ion concentrations, contractions or contractures induced by $Na^{+}-removal$, calcium-application or ouabain-treatment as an index of $Na^+/Ca^{2+}$ exchange activity were studied in atrial muscle or vascular smooth muscle (aorta and renal artery) of the rabbit. The magnitude of low sodium contractures in atrial trabeculae increased with sigmoid shape when external sodium concentrations were reduced to sodium-free condition, whereas that of calcium contracture intensified in a parabolic pattern when external calcium concentrations were elevated to 8 mM. $Na^{+}-removal$ contractures were induced in a duration-dependent manner to $K^{+}-free$ exposure and same findings were observed with ouabain treatment. $Na^{+}-free$ contractures were not affected by verapamil treatment, but stimulated by $100{\mu}M\;Mn^{2+}$ and inhibited by high concentrations of $Mn^{2+}\;(2{\sim}8mM)$ in a dose-dependent manner. Ryanodine which is known to suppress the release of calcium from internal store abolished spontaneous twitch contractions induced by $K^{+}-free$ solution, but had no effect on the development $Na^{+}-free$ contractures. Na-free contractures were not always induced in vascular smooth muscle preparations. Contractures by $O\;mM\;Na^+$ were usually seen in aorta, but not often in renal artery.$50\;mM\;K^+$, noradrenaline (NA) and angiotensin II (AII) always evoked very large contraction in all preparations of vascular smooth muscle. Contractures developed by $O\;mM\;Na^+$ were not sensitive to verapamil treatment as in atrial trabeculae, but were abolished by $100{\mu}M\;Mn^{2+}$. In contrast to $Na^{+}-free$ contractures, $Mn^{2+}(100{\mu}M)$ had no effect on the contractures induced by NA or 50 mM$K^+$. Caffeine in the concentration of 10 mM evoked transient contracture in the distal renal artery. The rate of spontaneous relaxation in caffeine contracture was dependent upon the concentrations of external sodium, and had double component of relaxation when the rate of relaxation was plotted in the semilogarithmic scale of relative tension versus time. Especially late components of relaxation had more direct relation to $Na^+$ concentrations. It could be concluded that $Na^+/Ca^{2+}$ exchange mechanism in the heart has a large capacity, inhibited by $Mn^{2+}$ but not by verapamil and ryanodine, while $Na^+/Ca^{2+}$ exchange system in vascular smooth muscle has a very low capacity especially in small artery, inhibited by low concentration of $Mn^{2+}\;(100{\mu}M)$ but not affected by verapamil and ryanodine.

  • The purpose of this research was to investigate the effects of supercritical fluid extract of Kamichungbieum (SFE) on the contraction of isolated rat aorta. The contractile force of rat aorta was measured with force displacement transducer under 1.5g loading tension. The contraction of aorta induced by phenylephrine 0.1 μM was inhibited by SFE. The aorta relaxed by SFE was inhibited by the pretreatment of L-NNA, ODQ or indomethacin, respectively. These results indicate that SFE induce the relaxation of isolated aorta via activation of nitric oxide, cAMP and cyclooxygenase in epithelium cells.

  • In the present study, vasorelaxant effect of the extract of seeds of Oenothera odorata (SOO) and its possible mechanism responsible for this effect were examined in vascular tissues isolated from rats. Changes in vascular tension, 3',5'-cyclic monophosphate (cGMP) levels were measured in thoracic aorta rings from rats. Methanol extract of seeds of Oenothera odorata relaxed endothelium-intact thoracic aorta in a dose-dependent manner. A dose-dependent vascular relaxation was also revealed by treatment of ethylacetate, n-butanol, and H2O (aqua extract of seeds of Oenothera odorata , ASOO) extracts partitioned from methanol, but not by hexane extract. However, the vascular relaxation induced by ASOO were abolished by removal of endothelium of aortic tissues. Pretreatment of the endothelium-intact vascular tissues with NG-nitro-L-arginine methyl ester (L-NAME) or 1H-[1,2,4]-oxadiazole-[4,3-α]-quinoxalin-1- one (ODQ) significantly inhibited vascular relaxation induced by ASOO. Moreover, incubation of endothelium-intact aortic rings with ASOO increased the production of cGMP. However, ASOO-induced increases in cGMP production were blocked by pretreatment with L-NAME or ODQ. The vasorelaxant effect of ASOO was attenuated by tetraethylammonium (TEA), 4-aminopyridine, and glibenclamide attenuated. On the other hand, the ASOO-induced vasorelaxation was not blocked by verapamil, and diltiazem. Taken together, the present study demonstrates that ASOO dilate vascular smooth muscle via endothelium-dependent NO-cGMP signaling pathway, which may be closely related with the function of K+ channels.

  • Activation of $K^+$ channels induces relaxation of smooth muscles by reducing electrical excitability and cytosolic free $Ca^{2+}$ level. ${\beta}$-adrenergic agonist isoproterenol is known to induce relaxation of the uterine smooth muscle by membrane hyperpolarization and $K^+$ efflux. Recently it is suggested that the activity of $Ca^{2+}$-activated $K^+$ channel was increased by isoproterenol in the uterine myocytes isolated from myometrium of the pregnant rat. However, the type of $K^+$ channel mediating the relaxant effect of isopreterenol in the tissue level has not yet studied. In this work, we investigated the type of $K^+$ channels involved in the isoproterenol-induced relaxation of uterine smooth muscle by measuring the integrated insometric tension of the estrogen-treated isolated nonpregnant rat uterus. Contraction of uterine tissue was induced by oxytocin (0.2nM, 2~3 contractions/min) or high KCl(20~80mM). The result are as follows : 1. Isoproterenol($10^{-10}{\sim}10^{-4}M$) inhibited oxytocin-induced contraction of isolated rat uterus($EC_{50}=1.17{\times}10^{-10}M$). 2. Isoproterenol($10^{-10}{\sim}10^{-4}M$) effectively inhibited uterine contraction induced by low KCl(20~40mM) but little those induced by high KCl(60~80mM). 3. Relaxant effect of isoproterenol($10^{-10}{\sim}10^{-4}M$) on 0.2nM oxytocin-induced contraction was effectively reduced by 4-aminopyridine(3, 10mM) but little by TEA(10~30mM), $Ba^{2+}$($1{\sim}30{\mu}M$) and glibenclamide($100{\mu}M$). Our data suggest that the relaxant effect of isoproterenol is mediated by the $K^+$ channel(s) which can be blocked by 4-aminopyridine.

  • Background : Kigong(氣功) is to develope a nature-therapy by controling and recovering Jinki(眞氣) and it has common features in Yangsaengbeob(養生法), Doinbeob(導引法) and Jeongkisin(精氣神), but it is rarely researched and applied in clinic examine. Objectives : it is compared and contrasted among Kukseondo(國仙道) Yeonjeongwon(硏精院), Seokmunhoheub(石門呼吸). Result : Kukseondo, Yeonjeongwon, Seokmunhoheub have the same point that beginners breath slowly, deeply and naturally. The breathing in each group becomes deeper gradually by mental and physical relaxation although each group has a different breathing method, and it is similar to Jogigyeol(調氣訣) in Dongeuibogam. Ywasik(臥式) is distinguished by the presence of sensation. The breathing in Kukseondo is Yidanhoheub(二段呼吸), the breathing in Yeonjeongwon is Yugi(留氣) and the breathing in Seokmunhoheub is that the ratio of inhaling and blowing are 6 to 4. The breathing in each group is deep and small, Ki also accumulates in the Below-abdomen between blowing and inhaling. This is confirmed by Sinjunapgi(腎主納氣) theory in Oriental-medicine. There is the breath, which is through skin, in Kigonghoheub(氣孔呼吸) of Samhabdanbeop(三合丹法) and Jolidanbeop(造理丹法) in Kukseondo, it is also in Gwiilbeop(歸一法) of Seokmunhoheub. In Kukseondo's case, the breathing is through skin mainly instead of a respiratory organ. In Seokmunhoheub's case, the circulation of Ki is through skin during breathing. In Oriental-medicine, this is called as Pyejupimo(肺主皮毛) which is connected with lung and skin. The breathing coincide with tension and relaxation of body while the breathing through skin and the absorption of Ki spread sensation over the whole body, but the breathing through skin is just a specific ability from a training.

  • Objectives : Radix Angelicae Gigantis(RAG) and Resina Ferulae(RF) have been used in oriental medicine or folk medicine to increase stamina. The aim of this study was the characterization of the mechanism of action of RAG and RF on smooth muscle and macrophages in rats to find new substances for the treatment of erectile dysfunction, cardiovascular diseases and immune dysfunction. Methods : We investigated the effects of the water extracts of RAG and RF on phenylephrine or KCl-contracted rat endothelium-denuded aorta, the production of NO in vascular smooth muscle cell (VSMC) and the production of NO and induction of iNOS in the $IFN-{\gamma}-primed$ RAW 264.7 cells. Results : The water extracts of the RAG and RF showed significant concentration-dependent relaxation effects on phenylephrine or KCl-contracted rat endothelium-denuded aorta. It also reduced the tension of the rat endothelium denuded aorta which was contracted in $Ca^{2+}-free$ media. On the other hand, it increased production of NO in VSMC which was stimulated with $IL-{\beta}$ or $IL-{\beta}$ plus $IFN-{\gamma}$. The water extracts of RAG and RF increased production of NO and induction of iNOS in the $IFN-{\gamma}-primed$ RAW 264.7 cells. Conclusions : According to the above results, the water extracts of RAG and RF relaxed the smooth muscle effectively and increased the production of NO in VSMC and macrophages. So, these herbs can be applied to erectile dysfunction, hypertension, angina pectoris, artherosclerosis and a defense defect for virus or microbe.
