포화된 모래지반의 액상화후 과잉간극수압 소산양상 (Dissipation Pattern of Excess Pore Pressure after Liquefaction in Saturated Sand Deposits)

  • The purpose of this study is to understand the dissipation pattern of excess pore pressure after liquefaction which governs the post-liquefaction behavior of liquefied sand deposits. 1-g shaking table tests were carried out on 5 different kinds of sands, all of which had high liquefaction potentials. During the tests excess pore pressure at various depths, and surface settlements were measured. The measured curve of the excess pore pressure dissipation was simulated using the solidification theory, and from the analysis of the velocity of dissipation, the dissipation pattern of excess pore pressure after liquefaction was examined. The dissipation velocity of excess pore pressure after liquefaction had a linear correlation with the effective grain size ( $D_{10}$) divided by the coefficient of uniformity ( $C_{u}$), and the increase in the initial relative density of the ground played a role in shifting this correlation curve toward an increased dissipation velocity. From the correlation, an approximate method was recommended for prediction of the dissipation curve of excess pore pressure after liquefaction in saturated sand deposits.s.s.

여름철 냉방시 상대습도가 쾌적감에 미치는 영향(청년과 고령자의 비교를 중심으로) (Effects of relative humidity on comfort sensation by comparison between the young and the aged)

  • Hot and humid weather in summer generally brings about discomfort. Experiments on which relative humidity makes effects on the comfort sensation were performed to the young and the aged using sensation vote. From July to October 1996, seven college students and eleven aged people were exposed for 2 hours under six different conditions in the Pukyong National University test chamber so as to determine the effects of relative humidity on thermal and comfort sensations. Subjects were wearing same clothes, and the mean clo value was 0.5. The mean radiant temperature was equal to the air temperature and air velocity in the occupied zone around 0.lm/s. In the experiments, it was found that discomfort could be largely reduced when the humidity is controlled to low values in the settled high temperature.

  • Subjects with 0.7[clo]'s amount of clothing were estimated on their thermal comfort, concentrativeness, heart rate variability, stress and fatigue degree when given variation in relative humidity to 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, and 80[RH%], in an environmental test room of temperature 25[$^{\circ}C$], illumination 1000[lux] and air velocity 0.02[m/sec], by using EEG, learning ability and HRV. At the result, it was at 50~60[RH%] of relative humidity that subject's thermal comfort and concentrativeness were at the highest while stress were at the lowest, and it was at 60[RH%] of relative humidity that heart rate variability was most stabilized. It was found that when temperature and humidity of the environmental test room are at 25[$^{\circ}C$] and 50~60[RH%], subject's productivity and psychological state are least affected.

  • An experimental study was carried on the characteristics of fluid flow and heat transfer in a fluidized bed shell-and-tube type heat exchanger with corrugated tubes. Seven different solid particles having same volume were circulated in the tubes. The effects of vari­ous parameters such as water flow rates, particle geometries and materials, and geometries of corrugated tubes on relative velocities and drag coefficients were investigated. The present work showed that the drag force coefficients of particles in the corrugated tubes were usually lower than those in the smooth tubes, meanwhile the relative velocities between particles and water in the corrugated tubes were little higher than those in the smooth tubes except the particles of glasses.

  • For the calculation of transonic laminar relative flow fields on the axisymmetric H-S and B-B stream surfaces in turbomachinery, a finite volume method developed in Part (I) is extended. Energy equation is replaced for simplicity by the condition of constant rothalpy throughout the flow fields. For axisymmetric H-S flow the circumferential componets of absolute velocity are given in advance so that this component of momentum equations can be neglected. Some numerical results show good agreement with experimental data.

  • The FDS-HCIB method is expanded to simulate water-oil-air flows around oil booms under relative motion, which is intended to increase the thickness of contained oil. The FDS scheme captures discontinuity in the density field and abrupt change of the tangential velocity across an interface without smearing. The HCIB method handles relative motions of thin oil booms with ease. To validate the developed FDS-HCIB code for water-oil-air flow around a moving body, the computed results are compared with the reported experimental results on the shape, length, and thickness of the oil slicks under towing. It is observed that the increase in pressure field between two barriers lifts the oil slick and the interfacial wave propagates and reflects as one barrier gets closer to the other barrier.

The effects of various parameters such as water flow rates, particle geometries and materials, and geometries of corrugated tubes on relative velocities and drag coefficients were investigated. The present work showed that the drag force coefficients of particles in the corrugated tubes were usually lower than those in the smooth tubes, meanwhile the relative velocities between particles and water in the corrugated tubes were little higher than those in the smooth tubes except the glass.

  • In this paper, an observer-based adaptive controller is proposed to control the longitudinal motion of vehicles. The standard gradient method is used to estimate the vehicle parameters, mass, time constant, etc. The inter-vehicle spacing and its derivatives are estimated by using the sliding mode cascade observer introduced in this paper. It is shown that the proposed adaptive controller is uniformly ultimately bounded. It is also shown that the errors of the relative distance, the relative velocity and the relative acceleration asymptotically converge to zero. The simulation results are presented to investigate the effectiveness of the proposed method.

경기도 하남시 인근 호상편마암 지역에서 Suspension P-S 속도검층 자료분석 (Data Analysis of Suspension P-S Velocity Logging in Banded Gneiss Area around Hanam, Gyeonggi Province)

  • 경기도 하남시 풍산동 소재 시험시추공에서 획득된 SPS 속도검층자료를 이용하여 이 지역에 분포하는 호상편마암의 동적물성치를 추정하였다. 연구방법은 전처리과정과 속도분석, 감쇄지수와 관련된 Q factor를 도출하였고 단열정보와 탄성파 속도관계식을 산출하였다. 신선한 암반의 Vp는 5,559m/s, Vs는 3,063m/s로 나타났으며 포아슨비는 0.28로 해석되었다. 이를 이용하여 동적물성치를 구하였고 초음파 텔레뷰어로 산출한 단열정보를 이용하여 단열에 따른 초동지연, 진폭변화비, 속도와의 상관성을 파악하였다. 측정된 검층공은 미세단열이 대부분이며 이러한 경암내 미세단열 지역에서는 단열틈 크기와 단열빈도가 탄성파 속도의 변수로 작용하는 것으로 나타난다.
