Reinforced dual concrete beam (RDC beam) is the reformed system that improves the overall structural properties of beam by partially applying high performance steel fiber reinforced concrete (HPSFRC) in the lower tension part of conventional reinforced concrete beam (RC beam). Fatigue test was done to prove the structural superiority of RDC beam. As a result of fatigue test, the deflection of RDC beam was decreased obviously and the slope of number of cycle-deflection relation curve of RDC beam was increased gently in comparison with RC beam.

The reinforced concrete(RC) beam is developed cracks because the compression strength of concrete is strong but the tensile strength is weak. The structural strength and stiffness is decreased by reduction of tension resistance capacity of concrete due to the developed cracks. Using the fiber reinforced concrete that is increased the flexural strength and tensile strength at tensile part can enhance the strength and stiffness of concrete structure and decrease the tensile flexural cracks and deflection. Therefore, The reinforced concrete used the fiber reinforced concrete at tensile part ensure the safety and serviceability of the concrete structures. In this study, analytical model of a dual concrete beam that is composed of the normal strength concrete at compression part and the high tensile strength concrete at tensile part is developed by using the equilibrium condition of forces and compatibility condition of strains and is parted into elastic analytical model and ultimate analytical model. Three group of test beam that is formed of one reinforced concrete beam and two dual concrete beams for each steel reinforcement ratio is tested to examine the flexural behavior of dual concrete beams. The comparative study of total nine test beams is shown that the ultimate load of a dual concrete beams relative to the reinforced concrete beams have an increase in approximately 30%. In addition, the initial flexural rigidity, as used here, refer to the slope of load-deflection curves in elastic state is increased and the deflection is decreased.

This study presents results from an experimental work for two normal prestressed concrete beams and three dual prestressed concrete beams. The dual prestressed concrete beams made with normal concrete in compression zone and high performance steel fiber reinforced concrete in partial depth of tension zone. Through cyclic loading test under low frequency, structural behavior and resistance to dynamic loading for dual prestressed concrete beams are investigated. Considerable increase of crack and yield load capacity of Dual prestressed concrete beam is shown compared with normal prestressed concrete beam. In addition, re-loading and un-loading rigidity of dual prestressed concrete beam under cyclic loading are increased comparing with normal prestressed concrete beam.
The cracks are developed in reinforced concrete(RC) beams at the early stage of service load because of the relatively small tensile strength of concrete. The structural strength and stiffness are decreased by reduction of tensile resistance capacity of concrete due to the developed cracks. Using the fiber reinforced concrete that is increased the flexural strength and tensile strength at tensile part can enhance the strength and stiffness of concrete structures and decrease the tensile flexural cracks and deflections. Therefore, the RC beams used of the fiber reinforced concrete at. tensile part ensure the safety and serviceability of the concrete structures. In this work, analytical model of a dual concrete beams composed of the normal strength concrete at compression part and the high tension strength concrete at tensile part is developed by using the equilibrium conditions of forces and compatibility conditions of strains. Three groups of test beams that are formed of one reinforced concrete beam and two dual concrete beams for each steel reinforcement ratio are tested to examine the flexural behavior of dual concrete beams. The comparative study of total nine test beams is shown that the ultimate load of a dual concrete beams relative to the RC beams is increased in approximately 30%. In addition, the flexural rigidity, as used here, referred to the slope of load-deflection curves is increased and the deflection is decreased.
In this study, reinforced dual concrete beam (RDC beam) composed of steel fiber reinforced concrete (SFRC) in the tension part and normal strength concrete (NSC) in the compression and remaining part is proposed. It is the epochal structural system that improves the overall structural performances of beam by partially superseding the steel fiber reinforced concrete in the lower tension part of conventional reinforced concrete beam (RC beam). Flexural and shear tests are performed to prove the structural excellence of RDC beam in comparison with RC beam. An analytical method is proposed to understand the flexrual behavior and is compared to experimental results. And for shear behavior, experimental results are compared to empirical equations predicting the ultimate shear strength of full-depth fiber reinforced concrete beam to examine the behavior of RDC beam under shear. From this studies, it is proved that RDC beam has more superior structural performance than RC beam, and the analytical method for flexural behavior agrees well with experimental results, and the partial-depth fiber reinforcements have no noticeable effect on ultimate shear strength but it is considerably effective to control and prevent evolutions of crack.

I-section prestressed concrete(I-PC) beam crack due to low tensile strength, may decrease rigidity and structural performance by excessive deflection. In an effort to this problem, in this research, I-section prestressed dual concrete(I-PDC) beam has been proposed, consisting of normal strength concrete in compression zone, and high performance steel fiber reinforced concrete(HPSFRC) with a bottom flange depth in tensile zone. Crack formation and its propagation are controlled by the HPSFRC in I-PDC beam. The initial cracking and service limit loads are increased along with the load carrying capacity and flexural stiffness.

In this study, dual composites concrete beam(DCC beam) partially superseded with steel fiber reinforced concrete in tensional part and normal strength concrete in compressive and remaining part is proposed. Based on flexural test under static loads, structural behaviors under repeated loads are investigated.
In the case of seismic-resistant composite dual moment resisting and eccentrically braced frames, the current design practice is to avoid the disposition of shear connectors in the expected plastic zones, and consequently to consider a symmetric moment or shear plastic hinges, which occur only in the steel beam or link. Even without connectors, the real behavior of the hinge may be different from the symmetric assumption since the reinforced concrete slab is connected to the steel element close to the hinge locations, and also due to contact friction between the concrete slab and the steel element. At a larger level, the structural response in the case of important seismic motions depends directly on the elasto-plastic behavior of elements and hinges. The numerical investigation presented in this study summarizes the results of elasto-plastic analyses of several steel frames, considering the interaction of the steel beam with the concrete slab. Several parameters, such as the inter-story drift, plastic rotation requirements and behavior factors q were monitored. In order to obtain accurate results, adequate models of plastic hinges are proposed for both the composite short link and composite reduced beam sections.

A linear analysis method using reduced secant stiffness was developed for inelastic earthquake design of reinforced concrete structures. In the proposed method, the beam-column element and plane element, which are the same as used in conventional elastic analysis, are used for structural modeling. Based on the structural plastic mechanism intended by engineer, the distribution of inelastic members is determined. The secant stiffness of the inelastic members is determined based on the target ductility of the structure. Inelastic strengths of the members are calculated by using linear analysis on the structure modeled with secant stiffness. Plastic rotations in the inelastic members are calculated with the nodal rotations resulting from the secant stiffness analysis. For verification, the proposed method was applied to the inelastic earthquake designs of a moment-resisting frame and a dual system of two dimensions, and also a dual system of three dimensions.

In recent years, the use of hybrid fiber reinforced polymer(FRP)-concrete members with a dual purpose of both formwork and reinforcement, has been considered in some structures and has been applied in a small number of bridge decks. Numerical simulations of the beam failure tests were performed using nonlinear finite element program and a parametric study was performed with variables of perfobond shape. The ultimate strength was increased with perfobond shape because of dowel action. It was showed a good performance in case of approximately perforate diameter 25~35mm in this case.
