This study investigates the behaviour of Hybrid Beam with reinforced concrete encased steel center and reinforced concrete end. Two types of encased steel shape and two sections are examined in this study. Test results showed that H-Hybrid beam is stronger than Honey-comb Hybrid beam, and the behaviour of composite beam embedded steel at the elastic state is same as that of simple beam.

The use of steel fibers in conventional reinforced concrete increases the strength and ductility under various loading conditions. In order to examine the possibility of the use of these combinations achieving required strength and ductility of a reinforced concrete beam, a refined optimization procedure based on nonlinear layered finite element method and nonlinear programming technique is developed in this study. Six design variables-beam width and depth, fiber volume fraction, amounts of tensile and compressive rebars, and stirrup, and stirrup spacing-are considered. The developed model can be used as a tool in determining the economical use of steel fibers in designing the reinforced steel fibrous concrete beam.
Bending behaviors of corroded reinforced concrete (RC) beams under repeated loading were investigated experimentally. A total of twenty test specimens, including four non-corrosion and sixteen corrosion reinforced concrete beams, were prepared and tested. A numerical model for flexural and cracking behaviors of the beam under repeated loading was also developed. Effects of steel corrosion on reinforced concrete beams regarding cracking, mid-span deflection, stiffness and bearing capacity of corroded beams were studied. The impact of corrosion on bond strength as the key factor was investigated to develop the computational model of flexural capacity. It was shown from the experimental results that the bond strength between reinforcement and concrete had increased for specimen of low corrosion levels, while this effect was changed when the corrosion level was higher. It was indicated that the bearing capacity of corrosion beam increased even at a corrosion level of about 5%.
Six reinforced concrete beam-column joint specimens were constructed and tested under reverse cyclic loading to failure. The six specimens were divided into three groups, each group representing a different joint design. The main objectives of this study are to investigate the response of joints with three different design, reinforcement detailing and beam strengths, and to evaluate and compare the responses of beam-column joints reinforced with traditional steel rebar and a recently proposed steel reinforcement called prefabricated cage system (PCS). Each of the three test specimen designs included equivalent amount of steel reinforcement and had virtually identical details. The results of the research show that the PCS reinforced joints had a slightly higher strength and significantly larger deformation capacity than the equivalent rebar reinforced joints.
This is a study to confirm how to improve and substitute the existing re-bar with other material such as a fiber rope, especially super fiber rope having much more strong tensile strength. 6(b) different fiber rope reinforced beam with a section of $20{\times}30cm$ have been made and tasted as variables designed in the study. The larger diameter of fiber rope, the more capacity of the beam, even though fiber reinforced beam are increased with ten(10)percent, each. Lower capacity of fiber-reinforced beam than normal RC beam has been analyzed theoretically and empirically, based on a lot of experiences of the same size beam test. Fiber rope-reinforced concrete beam does not have sufficient capacity than RC beam due to insufficient bonding capacity of fiber rope in concrete. It leads to decrease beam bearing capacity and crack around lower center of the beam. Therefore, bonding reinforcement of fiber rope beam such as pinning a triangles steel pin in each knot of fiber rope contributes to improving bearing capacity of fiber rope reinforcing beam.
This paper presents the results of an experimental investigation on the flexural behavior of doubly reinforced lightweight concrete (R.L.C.) beams tested under cyclic loading. A total of 20 beam specimens were tested. Test results are presented in terms of ductility index, the degradation of strength and stiffness, and energy dissipation. The flexural properties of R.L.C. beam were compared to those of normal concrete (R.C.) beams. Test results show that R.L.C. beam with low and medium concrete strength (20, 40MPa) performed displacement ductility similar to the R.C. beam. The ductility can be improved by enhancing the concrete strength or decreasing the tension reinforcement ratio. Using lightweight aggregate in concrete is advantageous to the dynamic stiffness of R.L.C. beam. Enhancement of concrete strength and increase of reinforcement ratio will lead to increase of the stiffness degradation of beam. The energy dissipation of R.L.C beam, similar to R.C. beam, increase with the increase of tension reinforcement ratio. The energy dissipation of unit load cycle for smaller tension reinforcement ratio is relatively less than that of beam with higher reinforcement ratio.

A theoretical method to predict the interfacial stresses in the adhesive layer of reinforced concrete beams strengthened with externally bonded carbon fiber-reinforced polymer (CFRP) plate is presented. The analysis provides efficient calculations for both shear and normal interfacial stresses in reinforced concrete beams strengthened with composite plates, and accounts for various effects of Poisson's ratio and Young's modulus of adhesive. Such interfacial stresses play a fundamental role in the mechanics of plated beams, because they can produce a sudden and premature failure. The analysis is based on equilibrium and deformations compatibility approach developed by Tounsi. In the present theoretical analysis, the adherend shear deformations are taken into account by assuming a parabolic shear stress through the thickness of both the reinforced concrete beam and bonded plate. The paper is concluded with a summary and recommendations for the design of the strengthened beam.

In this study, the effect of steel fiber utilization, boundary conditions, different beam cross-section, and length parameter are investigated on the free vibration behavior of fiber reinforced self-compacting concrete beam on elastic foundation. In the analysis of the beam model recommended by Euler-Bernoulli, a method utilizing Stokes transformations and Fourier Sine series were used. For this purpose, in addition to the control beam containing no fiber, three SCC beam elements were prepared by utilization of steel fiber as 0.6% by volume. The time-dependent fresh properties and some mechanical properties of self-compacting concrete mixtures were investigated. In the modelled beam, four different beam specimens produced with 0.6% by volume of steel fiber reinforced and pure (containing no fiber) SCC were analyzed depending on different boundary conditions, different beam cross-sections, and lengths. For this aim, the effect of elasticity of the foundation, cross-sectional dimensions, beam length, boundary conditions, and steel fiber on natural frequency and frequency parameters were investigated. As a result, it was observed that there is a noticeable effect of fiber reinforcement on the dynamic behavior of the modelled beam.
A nonlinear finite element analysis using ANSYS is used to evaluate the seismic behavior of reinforced concrete exterior beam-column joints. The behavior of the finite element models under cyclic loading is compared with the experimental results. Two beam-column joint specimens (SH and SHD) with square hoop confinement in joint and throughout the column with detailing as per IS 13920 are studied. The specimen SHD was provided with additional diagonal bars from column to beam to relocate the plastic hinge formation from beam-column interface. The load-displacement relationship, joint shear stress and strain in beam obtained from numerical study showed good agreement with the experimental results. This investigation proves that seismic behaviour of reinforced concrete beam-column joints under reversed cyclic loading can be evaluated successfully using finite element modeling and analysis.
This paper presents a careful theoretical investigation into interfacial stresses in reinforced concrete foundation beam repairing with composite plate. The essential issue in the analysis of reinforced structures with composite materials is to understand the individual behaviour of each material and its interaction with the remaining ones. The present model is based on equilibrium and deformations compatibility requirements in and all parts of the repaired RC foundation beam, i.e., the reinforced concrete foundation beam, the composite plate and the adhesive layer. The theoretical predictions are compared with other existing solutions, By comparisons between the existing solutions and the present new solution enable a clear appreciation of the effects of various parameters such as the geometric characteristics and mechanical properties of the components of the repaired beam, as well as the geotechnical stresses of the soil are considered. This research is helpful for the understanding on mechanical behaviour of the interface and design of the composite-concrete hybrid structures.
